[QUOTE]Season 22 also sees the introduction of Junior Detective Jalen Shaw (Mehcad Brooks), who is paired up with Senior Detective Frank Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan) after the exit of Anthony Anderson.
‘Law & Order’ Kicks off Season 22 With a 3 Hour Crossover Event
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 6, 2024 12:25 AM |
Only interested in a three hour L&O episode if it stars Jerry Orbach, Sam Waterston, Chris Noth, Jill Hennessy, S. Epatha Mekerson, and Steven Hill.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 21, 2022 3:06 PM |
Christ on sale, Sam is getting old.
And R1, you forgot Dianne Wiest! Two Oscars from Woody bought her a recurring role.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 21, 2022 3:09 PM |
I actually watched a few more episodes from the rebooted season and it does seem like the writing got better as the season progressed.
Jeffrey Donovan has such a weird appeal. He's incredibly hot but I can't explain why.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 21, 2022 3:24 PM |
R1, You might want to call the Grim Reaper.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 21, 2022 3:26 PM |
[QUOTE] I actually watched a few more episodes from the rebooted season and it does seem like the writing got better as the season progressed.
And this season will be even better, R3.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 21, 2022 11:14 PM |
Love Mehcad. He was on Svu at one point as a basketball star who was child molested by his coach.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 21, 2022 11:30 PM |
I hope they got new writers. The first season of the reboot was pretty bad IMO. Also Sam Waterston is TOO FUCKING OLD! It's like having Dianne Feinstein or Chuck Grassley as the DA. Bring on someone younger--maybe bring back Linus Roache as the head DA.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 21, 2022 11:33 PM |
Who remembers Bebe Neuwirth as the ADA in that short-lived "Trial by Jury" spinoff they tried?
She's fantastic, but she'd probably insist on a clause for singing and dancing every few episodes.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 22, 2022 6:42 PM |
I know every part in every episode of the first 20 years.
It just ain't the same.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 22, 2022 7:01 PM |
Half hour til showtime!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 22, 2022 11:31 PM |
These crossover shows suck. I'll be watching a rerun on cable and thay bring in someone from another show (Homicide in the 90s, Chicago PD now) and then the show ends without a resolution because they solved the case on the other show.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 22, 2022 11:41 PM |
They are running consecutively, R11. What’s the big deal? The conclusion likely happens at the end of Law and Order when the perp will be prosecuted.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 22, 2022 11:56 PM |
And when I watch 5 years from now on cable?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 23, 2022 12:03 AM |
Worry about that when five years from now gets here, R13.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 23, 2022 12:13 AM |
Mehcad Brooks and Jeffrey Donovan are awesome together!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 23, 2022 12:21 AM |
Donovan affects a weird Boston/New York accent that I found really distracting.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 23, 2022 1:23 AM |
Just sounds like a Boston accent to me.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 23, 2022 1:57 AM |
There’s just something about the show that’s weird to me. It doesn’t have that Law & Order feel anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 23, 2022 2:28 AM |
Jeffrey Donovan from Burn Notice?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 23, 2022 2:31 AM |
I'm enjoying this crossover tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 23, 2022 2:43 AM |
I'm also happy that the blonde actress/cop who was shot has either had more work done or her face has finally settled. I tried to watch an episode last season but couldn't bear the sight of how weird her face had become (there were also two other actresses in that episode with bad work.....a real freak show). She's looking more normal now.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 23, 2022 3:05 AM |
Yeah those super HD cameras aren’t kind to those who had recent work done.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 23, 2022 10:42 AM |
Was Anthony Anderson the only cast member replaced? That whole Season 22 endeavor was completely underwhelming.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 23, 2022 11:30 AM |
That plot made no sense at all. The 14 year old randomly deciding to record the Russian guy. The Russian guy being the most incompetent bad guy. The Chechen guy going from drugs and hookers to a complete bomb making set up. So many scenes of Olivia looking concerned and assuring the 15 year old that it’s not her fault. The blond cop getting shot in the gut and surviving. Everyone else gets shot in the neck.
They need to get the writers from the original series to come back.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 23, 2022 11:38 AM |
Yes it was all very strange, R24. I hope they stick it in a vault and we never see it again. There’s a reason why I don’t watch the other two shows.
Looking forward to regular old Law & Order starting next week.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 23, 2022 4:24 PM |
I was so confused! At one point, I rewound it and started over. Around 11:30 pm I realized I’d been watching the same 90 minutes since 8pm.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 23, 2022 6:08 PM |
I never did like Stabler. Glad to not see him again.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 23, 2022 6:39 PM |
The return of ADA Robinette (Richard Brooks) who worked for Moriarity's Ben Stone was pretty exciting - as far as that goes.
I wouldn't mind seeing a major event that brought back several of the ADAs - Robinette (who went into private practice), Hennesy's Claire Kincaid, Alexandra Cabot, Abbey Carmichael, and Serena Southerlyn.
It would be some sort of HUGE scandal where several of their old cases had to be revisited - like a six episode long arc.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 23, 2022 7:18 PM |
R28 Claire Kinkaid would have to be brought back by Dr. Frankenstein. She died in that car accident with Lenny Briscoe.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 24, 2022 2:51 PM |
[quote][R28] Claire Kinkaid would have to be brought back by Dr. Frankenstein. She died in that car accident with Lenny Briscoe.
Ah, that's right. I forgot about that. I was thinking the only one who died was the one they found in the trunk of a car.
I guess that leaves room for sexy Raúl Esparza's Rafael Barba.
But, I could totally see a charge led by Robinette to overturn dozens of wrongful convictions with all the former ADAs having to be pulled back - some siding with him, some siding with the DA's office.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 24, 2022 4:20 PM |
They should bring Barba back. Best ada and very sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 24, 2022 11:27 PM |
They bought Esparza back last year.
He and Olivia are enemies now.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 25, 2022 12:37 AM |
R32 Why? Because the actor is a homo?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 25, 2022 1:04 AM |
What do we think of Hugh Dancy so far?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 25, 2022 3:58 PM |
I love Hugh Dancy. Jeffrey Donovan too
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 25, 2022 4:09 PM |
Interesting that Anderson leaving improved the show. Dancy is weak. His 2nd chair is weak. Get rid of her and bring back Elisabeth Röhm. L&O needs a lipstick lesbian.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 25, 2022 4:10 PM |
Rohm has said she’d love to return.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 25, 2022 5:18 PM |
R3- I would LICK 👅 his BALLS.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 25, 2022 5:22 PM |
R34- We think he's HOMOSEXUAL
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 25, 2022 5:22 PM |
R37 Of course she would. It would be a great opportunity to interrupt her...nothing...with some paying work.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 25, 2022 5:29 PM |
Rohm has been directing.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 25, 2022 5:33 PM |
Jeffrey Donovan is not a particularly handsome guy, but is very sexy.
Loved Burn Notice - he was excellent in that.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 26, 2022 12:42 AM |
"[R32] Why? Because the actor is a homo?"
No, because he's now a defense attorney and he was defending some super creepy guy and she was surprised that he would do that with that particular client.
Your response seems very homophobic.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 26, 2022 1:22 AM |
Hugh Dancy is a happily married heterosexual! To "Sank Alive" Claire Danes no less.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 26, 2022 2:30 AM |
Barba being an enemy to Olivia is ridiculous as is his implied crush on her. They should have made him out and run with that.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 27, 2022 6:24 AM |
[quote]Barba being an enemy to Olivia is ridiculous as is his implied crush on her. They should have made him out and run with that.'
Yeah, that type of conflict is melodrama not based on any actual character arc or development for either.
After years on SVU, there is no way he'd have empathy for a perp.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 27, 2022 1:49 PM |
R45- Alec Baldwin is a happily married HETEROSEXUAL too.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 27, 2022 2:29 PM |
The real season begins tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 29, 2022 8:04 PM |
Hugh Dancy and Sam Waterston are the only two people on that show that can act. That's it. Even the majority of under 5s - who were always great NYC actors - generally suck.
Camryn Manheim is embarrassingly bad. So is the second chair.
And whoever is writing the courtroom scenes needs an adviser that is an actual lawyer with experience. We're two lay persons and we're constantly yelling 'Objection!' and 20 years of watching L&O means we even know and shout the legal reason for the objection.
It's been a HUGE disappointment.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 29, 2022 8:45 PM |
It was a pretty good episode—for the reboot—but the main characters still aren’t in synch.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 30, 2022 12:44 PM |
The episode was wack. Christ almighty, I’m so disappointed. It doesn’t even feel like I’m watching real Law & Order. It’s like I’m watching the Canadian version or something. Everything is off.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 3, 2022 12:22 AM |
I'm a new fan of the flagship series (got hooked from last season) & I've watched the 1st six episodes & loved every one of them.
I tried getting into the show from season 1 but it just wasn't happening. It was so slow & annoying. I skipped around & found a few good ones in the late 90s but I think I'll just stick to the present-day episodes.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 11, 2022 6:02 AM |
L&O just wasn't the same without Lennie and Adam.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | November 11, 2022 6:27 AM |
Sam Waterston needs to die.
Though I guess he is better than that looney Chris Meloni.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | November 11, 2022 6:53 AM |
I’m afraid I’ve given up on the show. 🙁
by Anonymous | reply 56 | November 11, 2022 1:36 PM |
R55- Law And Order: Organized Crime is UNWATCHABLE
My favorite L&O show was Law And Order: Criminal Intent.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | November 11, 2022 2:55 PM |
Well after jumping back in and catching up on all the season 22 episodes, I can say that the show finally found its footing. I am starting to enjoy it again.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 5, 2023 10:42 PM |
They should have made Van Buren a captain and kept her around.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 5, 2023 11:59 PM |
She went to another show, R59. And Camryn Mannheim is settling into her role just fine.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 6, 2023 12:18 AM |
[quote] She's fantastic, but she'd probably insist on a clause for singing and dancing every few episodes.
I don't see the problem.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 6, 2023 12:21 AM |
I haven't watched it since they pulled the plug without warning.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | March 6, 2023 12:51 AM |
Well it’s back for good now, R62. They’ve had two seasons now and the ratings are still decent. It’s safe to re-invest.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | March 6, 2023 12:54 AM |
I'd take Jeffrey Donovan's dong but there is so way i would ever watch law and order
by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 6, 2023 1:05 AM |
Mmm, dong.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 6, 2023 3:02 AM |
Then you’re missing out, R64. He’s got that thing out every other episode.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | March 6, 2023 2:01 PM |
a three hour movie? NOPE
by Anonymous | reply 67 | March 6, 2023 2:39 PM |
The show has gotten so much better. The new DA has finally grown on me.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 20, 2023 11:54 PM |
I do not enjoy Hugh Dancy. His accent is terrible and his character bland.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 5, 2024 10:53 PM |
R69 You revived this nearly 2 year old thread just to slam Hugh Dancy? How long have you been nursing this grudge?
