‘Law & Order’ Kicks off Season 22 With a 3 Hour Crossover Event

Only interested in a three hour L&O episode if it stars Jerry Orbach, Sam Waterston, Chris Noth, Jill Hennessy, S. Epatha Mekerson, and Steven Hill.

Christ on sale, Sam is getting old.

And R1, you forgot Dianne Wiest! Two Oscars from Woody bought her a recurring role.

I actually watched a few more episodes from the rebooted season and it does seem like the writing got better as the season progressed.

Jeffrey Donovan has such a weird appeal. He's incredibly hot but I can't explain why.

I hope they got new writers. The first season of the reboot was pretty bad IMO. Also Sam Waterston is TOO FUCKING OLD! It's like having Dianne Feinstein or Chuck Grassley as the DA. Bring on someone younger--maybe bring back Linus Roache as the head DA.

Who remembers Bebe Neuwirth as the ADA in that short-lived "Trial by Jury" spinoff they tried?

She's fantastic, but she'd probably insist on a clause for singing and dancing every few episodes.

I know every part in every episode of the first 20 years.

It just ain't the same.

These crossover shows suck. I'll be watching a rerun on cable and thay bring in someone from another show (Homicide in the 90s, Chicago PD now) and then the show ends without a resolution because they solved the case on the other show.

They are running consecutively, R11. What’s the big deal? The conclusion likely happens at the end of Law and Order when the perp will be prosecuted.

And when I watch 5 years from now on cable?

Worry about that when five years from now gets here, R13.

Mehcad Brooks and Jeffrey Donovan are awesome together!

Donovan affects a weird Boston/New York accent that I found really distracting.

Just sounds like a Boston accent to me.

There’s just something about the show that’s weird to me. It doesn’t have that Law & Order feel anymore.

I'm enjoying this crossover tonight.

I'm also happy that the blonde actress/cop who was shot has either had more work done or her face has finally settled. I tried to watch an episode last season but couldn't bear the sight of how weird her face had become (there were also two other actresses in that episode with bad work.....a real freak show). She's looking more normal now.

Was Anthony Anderson the only cast member replaced? That whole Season 22 endeavor was completely underwhelming.

That plot made no sense at all. The 14 year old randomly deciding to record the Russian guy. The Russian guy being the most incompetent bad guy. The Chechen guy going from drugs and hookers to a complete bomb making set up. So many scenes of Olivia looking concerned and assuring the 15 year old that it’s not her fault. The blond cop getting shot in the gut and surviving. Everyone else gets shot in the neck.

They need to get the writers from the original series to come back.

Yes it was all very strange, R24. I hope they stick it in a vault and we never see it again. There’s a reason why I don’t watch the other two shows.

Looking forward to regular old Law & Order starting next week.

I was so confused! At one point, I rewound it and started over. Around 11:30 pm I realized I’d been watching the same 90 minutes since 8pm.

I never did like Stabler. Glad to not see him again.

The return of ADA Robinette (Richard Brooks) who worked for Moriarity's Ben Stone was pretty exciting - as far as that goes.

I wouldn't mind seeing a major event that brought back several of the ADAs - Robinette (who went into private practice), Hennesy's Claire Kincaid, Alexandra Cabot, Abbey Carmichael, and Serena Southerlyn.

It would be some sort of HUGE scandal where several of their old cases had to be revisited - like a six episode long arc.

R28 Claire Kinkaid would have to be brought back by Dr. Frankenstein. She died in that car accident with Lenny Briscoe.

I guess that leaves room for sexy Raúl Esparza's Rafael Barba.

But, I could totally see a charge led by Robinette to overturn dozens of wrongful convictions with all the former ADAs having to be pulled back - some siding with him, some siding with the DA's office.

They should bring Barba back. Best ada and very sexy.

They bought Esparza back last year.

He and Olivia are enemies now.

Interesting that Anderson leaving improved the show. Dancy is weak. His 2nd chair is weak. Get rid of her and bring back Elisabeth Röhm. L&O needs a lipstick lesbian.

Yeah, that type of conflict is melodrama not based on any actual character arc or development for either.

After years on SVU, there is no way he'd have empathy for a perp.

Hugh Dancy and Sam Waterston are the only two people on that show that can act. That's it. Even the majority of under 5s - who were always great NYC actors - generally suck.

Camryn Manheim is embarrassingly bad. So is the second chair.

And whoever is writing the courtroom scenes needs an adviser that is an actual lawyer with experience. We're two lay persons and we're constantly yelling 'Objection!' and 20 years of watching L&O means we even know and shout the legal reason for the objection.

It's been a HUGE disappointment.

It was a pretty good episode—for the reboot—but the main characters still aren’t in synch.

The episode was wack. Christ almighty, I’m so disappointed. It doesn’t even feel like I’m watching real Law & Order. It’s like I’m watching the Canadian version or something. Everything is off.

I'm a new fan of the flagship series (got hooked from last season) & I've watched the 1st six episodes & loved every one of them.

I tried getting into the show from season 1 but it just wasn't happening. It was so slow & annoying. I skipped around & found a few good ones in the late 90s but I think I'll just stick to the present-day episodes.

L&O just wasn't the same without Lennie and Adam.

Sam Waterston needs to die.

Though I guess he is better than that looney Chris Meloni.

R55- Law And Order: Organized Crime is UNWATCHABLE

My favorite L&O show was Law And Order: Criminal Intent.

Well after jumping back in and catching up on all the season 22 episodes, I can say that the show finally found its footing. I am starting to enjoy it again.

They should have made Van Buren a captain and kept her around.

She went to another show, R59. And Camryn Mannheim is settling into her role just fine.

Well it’s back for good now, R62. They’ve had two seasons now and the ratings are still decent. It’s safe to re-invest.

The show has gotten so much better. The new DA has finally grown on me.

I do not enjoy Hugh Dancy. His accent is terrible and his character bland.
