He was fit, lean, handsome, charming and had perfected film acting to a T. His skin was flawless, and his underplaying wry delivery of the Lehman script was flawless. It also helped that he was in great shape, physically, and his skin was faultless. Added to that was the chemistry he had with Eva Marie Saint. Just a fabulous film.
Cary Grant Was At His Absolute Height of Perfection In North by Northwest

Don't forget the suit! That beautiful grey flannel suit he wore to perfection.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 17, 2022 5:49 PM |
He was alright but considerably aged by then so I wouldn’t call this the height of perfection.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 17, 2022 5:56 PM |
Don't run out of adjectives, dear.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 17, 2022 6:01 PM |
Don't forget his creamy skin, OP!

Holiday was Cary at his best.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 17, 2022 6:10 PM |
He looked leathery in this
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 17, 2022 6:12 PM |
Cary had only ONE FRONT TEETH. fact
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 17, 2022 6:14 PM |
"That beautiful grey flannel suit he wore to perfection."
IIRC, he wore it to wrinkle free perfection for about 72 hours, even sleeping in it overnight.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 17, 2022 6:17 PM |
Of classic Hollywood, Cary Grant was the most handsome. He was positively breathtaking.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 17, 2022 6:25 PM |
He was very handsome, but Gary Cooper was a stunner, and Ty Power was ridiculously beautiful
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 17, 2022 6:28 PM |
I think OP’s picture was what Miss Efron was going for.
Sad!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 17, 2022 6:30 PM |
He didn't have any work done R14, don't you know ?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 17, 2022 6:31 PM |
How was his skin, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 17, 2022 6:33 PM |
Meh
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 17, 2022 7:02 PM |

Was he Oil of Olay or Turtle?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 17, 2022 7:17 PM |
Wooden actor carved from mahogany.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 17, 2022 7:26 PM |
I heard he was a fag.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 17, 2022 7:27 PM |
You said it, OP! Absolute perfection!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 17, 2022 8:17 PM |
Was he really white ? was Cary Grant white ? what was his ethnicity in fact ? He doesn't look white in OP
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 17, 2022 8:29 PM |
He had a strange fixation on being part-Jewish (his father was a pants presser).
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 17, 2022 8:31 PM |
He claimed his real mother was a Jewish woman his father worked with. He was circumcised at birth, which was rare in Britain in those days. And some say his father may have been part Jewish.

= he knew on wich side the toast is buttered in Hollywood, see also, Bacall Lauren

That's the power of orange tanner darling.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 17, 2022 9:00 PM |
Cary Grant remained physically fit and handsome for a long time, whereas his contemporaries, Clark Gable, Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart, Errol Flynn, etc., looked aged and worn by the 1950s.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 17, 2022 9:33 PM |
Eldergays, who here had him?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 17, 2022 9:38 PM |
His pins were lean..
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 17, 2022 9:39 PM |
He looked great at any age. He clearly took care of himself.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 17, 2022 9:40 PM |
His roommate, Randolph Scott, was also ridiculously handsome. Together, the beauty was overpowering. He didn't age as well as Grant.

[QUOTE] Cary Grant remained physically fit
ahem...
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 17, 2022 9:57 PM |
Was Cary a bottom? Must have been since he lived with macho Scott for years.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 17, 2022 10:01 PM |
R35 In his autobio, Cary discusses his bottoming habits at length.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 17, 2022 10:07 PM |
Yes, I think Dyan Cannon mentioned it as well on the Mike Douglas Show.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 17, 2022 10:12 PM |
R36, that bio is so tiresome - page after page of bottoming tips (mostly muscle relaxants and margarine) and a whole fucking chapter about why reverse cowgirl (sic) is the most comfortable for the bottom and most pleasurable for the top. What editor thought it was a good idea to draw his own sex diagrams?
And Dyan Cannon still insists he wasn’t gay.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 17, 2022 10:22 PM |
well, it's the cary grant's equivalent of Liz taylor's cooking books I guess. They wrote about what they liked best. I found the chapters about the dildos really interesting, though.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 17, 2022 10:24 PM |
[quote] Dyan Cannon still insists he wasn’t gay
she didn't say he wasn't gay. She said he enjoyed anal pleasure more than most but that to her knowledge, it was something he had learned from barbara Hutton, not Randolph, and the segment about her trying to peg him with a cucumber is really funny
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 17, 2022 10:30 PM |
He’s a Heeb?????? Damn, DL clocks errybody!
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 17, 2022 10:32 PM |
OP, I agree he was stunning in NxNW but I disagree about the chemistry with Eva Marie Saint. That was the most soulless "seduction" sequence. Hitch had to ram home the point with a train going into a tunnel so people would understand.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 17, 2022 10:33 PM |
He was very moving with Debbie in AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 17, 2022 10:35 PM |
I found Cary Grant’s short book of poetry about Randolph Scott’s balls to be cloying and amateurish, especially the haikus. He must’ve hit every talk show to plug it, too. Dinah Shore’s face when he pronounced “pendulous pink orbs / swathed in a satiny blond pelt” said volumes more than any serious literature review could.

R44 I like it " swallow thee, swallow thee, Crystal tears drown under the best velvet distinctive feel A Ghostly feel that leads into a clear diamond road"...
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 17, 2022 10:54 PM |
"Judy, Judy, Judy..."
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 17, 2022 11:41 PM |
Did he really say that, though?

Meh. He had more chemistry with Ingrid Bergman and Irene Dunne.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 18, 2022 12:33 AM |
Cary Grant is my all-time favorite movie star. He was magic.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 18, 2022 12:34 AM |
R26 Can't blame him. He grew up in England, where to this day there's a fixation on Jews so different from the US.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 18, 2022 2:58 AM |
He reminds me of an over-tanned, greasy George Hamilton in the OP pic.
