Strange that gay men would be twice as likely to develop Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Why do you think that is? As it doesn't make sense to me why the gay men's bowels would be inflamed

Stress. Anxiety.

Maybe cum up the guys isn’t so good for your lining
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 17, 2022 12:44 AM |
Probably due to stress more than anything else.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 17, 2022 12:49 AM |
Truthfully, and it won't be liked, the rectum is not the equivalent of a vagina. Anal sex will lead to long-term health issues. Please do screech that I'm being "homophobic" for I do not give a fuck.

From the man going up in the man.

The obvious cause would be from anal sex but that is just a guess. The high risk sex was defined as unprotected and/or multiple sexual partners, but anal sex was not specifically addressed. The article shows a correlation but they need to address specifically anal sex. If that is highly correlated, then they need to look specifically at causation. If not, then they need to look at causation related to specific other high risk behaviors.

The doo doo hole was invented as an exit only. Not a shitter entrada. Still I love getting rammed.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 17, 2022 1:53 AM |
Tops or bottoms? Sluts?
But… Stress. Destroying the gut microbiome with overuse of antibiotics to treat STDs. Lifestyle (drugs/alcohol). Anal HPV and other STD infections.
People think it’s healthy to take antibiotics 3-4 or more times a year. It’s not. A rainbow flag shirt, PrEP and pronouns can’t protect you from medical realities.

by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 17, 2022 5:24 PM |
Multiple factors account for the increase. Frequency of anal sex, rectal douching (esp with inappropriate products), excessive stretching, aggressive pounding, choice of lubricants, STDs, alcohol/drug/tobacco intake, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 17, 2022 5:43 PM |
Stress in your formative years.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 17, 2022 5:51 PM |
That's interesting. I've long been involved in support groups for IBD patients (particularly those of us who've had extensive surgery) and there are far more straight male participants than gay ones.
A few years ago the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation started two gay groups on Facebook, one for women and one for men. The women's one is basically dead because the more vocal contributors are 'queer' women with male partners and gaggles of kids; lesbians tend not to feel much fellowship with that demographic. The men's group long struggled to collect members. Maybe it's more active now.

R15 vain men who have anal sex in their own ass aren’t going to jump to sign up to discuss their bowel sludge issues.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 17, 2022 6:07 PM |
Anal sex is risky for digestive health / loose rectal tissue and bleeding. There is a price to pay. With that said, I’m glad to do it.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 17, 2022 6:12 PM |
Anal is gross
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 17, 2022 6:15 PM |
This nonsense again?
I've been doing anal all my life, and I have had many longtime partners whom I speared up the ass frequently. I have never known one guy who had any said butt problem.
And I know anal sex is natural because my dick miraculously fits up any guy's asshole. Wanna try it?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 17, 2022 6:18 PM |
IBD starts for many in their early teenage years. Long before they’re having the “rampant, deviant anal sex” that the troll loons here are going on about. IBD is in your intestine not your anus.

R4 be careful of the prep- and bareback-obsessed queen on here. Anything even remotely unPC but medically and statistically accurate will trigger her to no end!

r23 Anonymous say what? You're anonymous for good reason. I'm not passive to anal sex and I wear a condom on my prey. Lol.
So stuff it up your inflammatory bowel, you frightened little queen.
Why am not surprised some fool like you endorses the homophobic OP?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 17, 2022 7:27 PM |
Not every gay couple has anal sex, the OP must be from 1950 or a troll who watch too much gay porn.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 17, 2022 7:31 PM |
OP is twice as likely to develop herpes as he's De-Facto.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 17, 2022 7:32 PM |
r26 The OP is obviously a heterosexual troll, and not gay. I see these same type of anti-gay posts allover the internet. I'm not sure why DL even allows this post. This creep has earned the right to post threads here? I thought one needed a history of credibility to start threads.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 17, 2022 7:39 PM |
r27 True, there are a lot of straight trolls making homophobic threads and comments lately.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 17, 2022 7:41 PM |
Getting fucked in the ass feels incredible, but there are undoubtedly some risks involved, as with everything. I think most people tend to be okay as long as they aren't super aggressive. I have to wonder if douching/enema use could be a factor in developing IBD. It seems like that would do more to cause IBD than simply taking a dick (or even having guys blow their loads in you).

It's that silicone based lube ! I am telling you !
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 17, 2022 7:52 PM |
R30 I don't know if you're joking or not, but I will say that I hate silicone lube. It's sticky and it stains any fabric it touches. Almost as bad as using petrolatum. Longer-lasting, sure, but I don't like the consistency. I only use water-based lubricants.

Yes, I just started posting recently. I just looked at that post. Honestly, that's sad.
Sure, we practice safe sex. But we don't cut off our balls. We've got the straight man's jackboot on the back of our necks and we don't even resist anymore.
The OP post is the same old homophobia I see everywhere. The horrors of a prolapsed rectum! Lol.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 18, 2022 2:23 AM |
R33, I don’t think the rectum was made for multiple dicks . It’s not a pussy
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 18, 2022 2:25 AM |
r34 It's just an orifice. Are you against oral sex as well? The mouth wasn't just made for talking.
As long as some guy isn't getting his asshole rammed by multiple dicks every night, there shouldn't be a problem.
I think you're allowing heteronormative "sexual morality" to influence you.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 18, 2022 2:30 AM |
It looks like some wise staff member at DL lined out the inflammatory queerbaiting homophobic OP. Finally. Not sure why it was ever allowed up in the first place.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 19, 2022 6:46 AM |
Oh, it's back!!!
Okay everybody, stop all homosexual acts now. It will kill you. Leviticus was right and we should all become celibate!!!
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 19, 2022 5:58 PM |
It's got nothing to do with anal sex, everything having to do with stress.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 19, 2022 6:17 PM |
I think R29 may have the right of it, that douching and its effect on gut bacteria might well be the cause. I'm assuming straight men rarely if ever follow that practice—some of them seem to be so paranoid about doing anything gay that they barely wipe.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 19, 2022 6:36 PM |
[quote] It's just an orifice. Are you against oral sex as well? The mouth wasn't just made for talking.
I've rethought my original stance on that matter.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 19, 2022 6:46 PM |
Oh, and just another note on DL's gaybashing OP.
Any survey where men self identify as gay is going to be heavily skewed by those in Frisco, West Hollywood, Soho et al. Your average gay Joe Blow is not gonna tell a surveyor all about his sex life. So the findings are never from a representative sample of men who have same-sex relationships.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 20, 2022 7:28 PM |
😩 No shit ..... Are you serious ?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 20, 2022 7:32 PM |
Nah, I expect more from DL than the same type of scare tactics used by Christian fundie sites to condemn gay men as sexual profligates.

by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 20, 2022 11:34 PM |
I think they might have a point about anal douching, particularly using plain tap water (or a douche wand attached to the shower head). Pretty much anything you ever read about the topic of 'anal douching' mentions that straight tap water is bad, throws off your electrolyte balance, causes local irritation, and probably does unspeakable things to your lower digestive tract's flora.
To be honest, I can barely believe it IS considered OK to use silicone lube for anal sex (even though the alternatives admittedly suck). Silicone lube is hard ENOUGH to wash off your dick & pubes with hardcore DETERGENT. I can't even guess how long it takes to completely eliminate the last trace of silicone lube after someone gets fucked. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if it persists until the outer layer of cells finally sloughs away after a few days.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 21, 2022 12:00 AM |
Stress. We're more neurotic by nature.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 21, 2022 12:20 AM |
Violent pounding of a rectum is not the same as a pussy . Puss was designed to stretch and have a phalic situation enter it .
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 21, 2022 12:27 AM |
r51 Homphobic blather. So you're saying homosexuality is unnatural? Lol.
"Violent pounding" of either the vagina or the rectum is rape, you idiot.
We're talking about anal intercourse as lovemaking as it has been practiced for thousands of years in both homosexual and heterosexual intercourse.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 21, 2022 1:47 AM |
I can’t find any drawn conclusions on why gay men are more likely. Seems like it has to do with gut health and chronic inflammation.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 21, 2022 2:41 AM |
We need an epidemiologist to study gay porn bottoms to see if this theory holds up.

by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 22, 2022 4:55 AM |
They need to go into more detail about these “studies.” Are the gay men that have issues sluts who sleep around or are they monogamous? Are you more at risk if you sleep around? Are the men with issues size queens who have constantly had big cocks up their ass or average size cocks? Do they live up well?
So many questions still.

[quote]vain men who have anal sex in their own ass aren’t going to jump to sign up to discuss their bowel sludge issues.
I'd refrained from commenting about this earlier because it was so trollish, but inflammatory bowel diseases aren't 'bowel sludge issues.' Patients with severe Crohn's or UC have an illness that can be quite debilitating and dangerous during its onset or when it stops responding to medication. Some end up with life-threatening complications.
Gay men are valuable contributors to the groups I've belonged to, there just aren't nearly as many of them are as there are straight guys. Some face emotionally complex sexual issues if they're told not to bottom post-colectomy. They don't have a monopoly on anal sex, though. Straight women sometimes chime in with questions of their own.
