140 credits in IMDB from 1950 to 2001. That's some career.

I’ll always remember him as Steven Seagal’s first movie villain. In Above the Law, he was so realistically menacing.

Silva wasn't a handsome man, but he oozed testosterone-fueled sex appeal on screen. In his heyday, he was scary af, but if he said, "get on your knees. You know what to do", your mouth would be full in seconds.

R17- Charles Bronson would be in that category. He wasn't a pretty man but still there was something HOT about him and I bet he had COBRA 🐍 between his legs.

Johnny Cool (1963) was directed by William Asher who was married to and had 3 children with Elizabeth Montgomery. He later married and had a child with Joyce Bulifant.

It's funny, in newspaper articles about from the 60s he claimed to be Puerto Rican but by the late 70s was claiming to be Italian/Sicilian (father, who split when he was year old) and Spanish (mother). He apparently felt the need to deny being Puerto Rican in later DVD commentary as well. I'm guessing Silva wasn't his original surname, or he took his mother's surname at some point or just lied about it at some point. I don't see anyone that could possibly be him in historical public records on ancestry, so I'm guessing he took that name when young and legally changed it some point.

from IMDB
The 1930 census lists him (as "Harry") living with his divorced mother in Manhattan. This census entry gives both his parents' birthplaces as "Porto Rico".
