What do you consider drinking too much?

Is a glass or two of whiskey or wine a day too much?

Three drinks a night?

Drinking every day?

What do you consider drinking too much? I have noticed it is different for different people.

by Anonymousreply 34September 16, 2022 12:02 PM

My sleep starts being interrupted after 3 drinks. People always start attacking me after about 7.

by Anonymousreply 1September 16, 2022 12:34 AM

Stop denying yourself shit that gives you pleasure. Being a miserable cunt because you're abstaining will put you in an earlier grave than indulging.

by Anonymousreply 2September 16, 2022 12:37 AM

OP- Face it

You’re an ALCOHOLIC

by Anonymousreply 3September 16, 2022 12:38 AM

My cum down your husband's throat.

At your dad's funeral.

Is that too much drinking?

by Anonymousreply 4September 16, 2022 12:39 AM

If you need to ask, it’s too much !

by Anonymousreply 5September 16, 2022 12:41 AM

It all makes you look like shit and I'm too vain to drink poison so I can act foolish.

by Anonymousreply 6September 16, 2022 12:42 AM

OP-

Yes. Yes. Yes.

New research suggests more than 3 drinks a week elevates cancer risks.

by Anonymousreply 7September 16, 2022 12:42 AM

I like to limit myself two glasses of wine, so a bottle needs to last a least 2 days, if I buy boxed wine I tend to drink more. I want to cut back, so I'm thinking of splurging on better wines and only having one glass per day, or 2 glasses and no wine the next day. I have BP which I keep in check, rarely drink anything hard.

by Anonymousreply 8September 16, 2022 12:52 AM

I limit myself a bottle of wine or less per day. I can still wake up feeling refreshed and exercise daily. It works for me.

by Anonymousreply 9September 16, 2022 12:55 AM

R9 a bottle a day? Thank you, Bree van de Kamp

by Anonymousreply 10September 16, 2022 1:02 AM

I drink some Pinot Grigio every day. Today I stopped after work and had 3 vodka martinis. Now that I'm home I'm drinking some more Pinot. I have a stressful job.

Being hungover tomorrow will definitely help

by Anonymousreply 12September 16, 2022 1:16 AM

THREE, 3 THREE!

by Anonymousreply 13September 16, 2022 1:18 AM

When you wake up with a hangover, you've had too much to drink.

by Anonymousreply 14September 16, 2022 1:20 AM

One pint of beer is good

by Anonymousreply 15September 16, 2022 1:23 AM

Like Millennials: every day.

One bottle of wine per day is a lot. It will catch up with you.

🙄👆🏼 yea, seek a failed program that has cult tendencies. 3% success rate and lots of brainwashing to believe you are powerless and unwell

Nonshenshe!

A glass of wine with dinner is fine, maybe two. More than two alcoholic drinks is self-medicating with toxins.

by Anonymousreply 23September 16, 2022 1:59 AM

R21 - I have no dog in this race, but just because AA failed for you doesn't mean it fails for everyone.

by Anonymousreply 24September 16, 2022 2:39 AM

R24, sure you don’t.

by Anonymousreply 25September 16, 2022 2:52 AM

If you’re drinking everyday, it’s too much. If it’s 2-3 drinks every day, it’s way too much

But what are you gonna do?

by Anonymousreply 26September 16, 2022 2:56 AM

One drink and one 10mg gummy a day. It works like a painkillr.

Ugh I don’t know how anyone drinks more than a couple drinks a week after the age of 40. I used to love to catch a buzz throughout my 20s and part of my 30s. But I just couldn’t do it anymore after I hit 38. And I love wine!

I drink once a week - Saturdays. It’s my time to shine. I have a cocktail and then 2 glasses of wine w dinner. Then I’m done.

“Alcoholic” is a dangerously undefinable term in most cases. “Problem drinking” is a better term - as used in UK. So much is relative. The average UK consumption would be “too much” for US. I know people who have 3-4 glasses of wine every day who I don’t consider drunks. Also people who binge drink once a week (more than 5) who I don’t consider having a problem. I think instead of trying to define “what is too much”, just cut it out for a while and see what changes. I did that in my 40s and it was enlightening. After a few years, I had a few once or twice a month. Some people shouldn’t have any.

I come from a long line of Southern drinkers. From straight up alcoholics, to bon vivants, to stress drinkers. Everyone of my good friends either drinks more than is recommended or they had to give it up completely. Others smoke a lot of pot. Who knows if we we even be here in 10 years. So do whatever feels right for you at this time of your life. Drink up if you want. Or don't. But asking others to approve or disapprove is just going to drive you mental. Now, for that nightcap...

by Anonymousreply 30September 16, 2022 3:20 AM

Are you beautiful when you're drunk, OP?

I don't think i can handle alcohol any more. I had some drinks last week and i felt really sluggish. I have decided to quit. It's not worth it.

by Anonymousreply 32September 16, 2022 3:56 AM

When you can't shtop shlurring your wordsh.

by Anonymousreply 33September 16, 2022 11:55 AM

Binge drinking and daily drinking are problems. I imbibe regularly, but avoid both. Most days I don't drink. When I do it's usually between 1-3 drinks.
