Boy George

He's been releasing single after single and they are pretty damn good. Anyone had a listen? Found on Spotify.

My favorite song of his is Kisses Are Charity.

Isn't he in prison for tying up the guy who .. didn't want to be tied up?

by Anonymousreply 3September 14, 2022 12:01 AM

Oh, yes.

The Boy George Expanse.

by Anonymousreply 4September 14, 2022 12:02 AM

Nice try, PeeKay.

by Anonymousreply 5September 14, 2022 12:09 AM

He's actually doing good and is promoting his art and music. Think he's been sober 9 years.

by Anonymousreply 6September 14, 2022 12:12 AM

whats a peekay?

by Anonymousreply 7September 14, 2022 12:12 AM

Peekay is like piss and scat all at once when you are tied up and gagged.

by Anonymousreply 8September 14, 2022 12:14 AM

ew lol

by Anonymousreply 9September 14, 2022 12:15 AM

Hey R9 some respect: there's Peekay (the receiver) and Peekee (the catcher).

His new singles keep popping up on my Spotify "New Releases" playlists but, to be honest, I find his voice to be too grating these days, even though the songs themselves are not bad.

His collab with Gladys Knight from a few years ago for "Runaway Train" was fantastic

The Gladys Knight thing was only 2 years ago but yeah was great!!

by Anonymousreply 19September 27, 2022 5:31 PM

Runaway Train To Georgia?

by Anonymousreply 20September 27, 2022 5:35 PM

He's obese again. Pity. Also, R3 classic response among the cryptkeeper set on DL, for whom time stands still!

by Anonymousreply 21September 27, 2022 5:38 PM

Are we sure the songs are from the vault?

Perhaps the London song is new. She's with George on tour now.

He's on Im A Celeb

Some of what's being mentioned here is solo, others were from the Culture Club album from a few years ago. That album was surprisingly good and I'm sad it really didn't go anywhere.

He's had a few fun little solo single releases here and there, and some of them sound very good. I liked this one.

I also liked The Next Thing Will Be Amazing, which is what CC opened their US shows with this summer.

I mean, it's interesting....which is more than I expected from them at this stage!

I know George's voice isn't what it once was, but I think it's still interesting in its own way.

George did this with Paul Weller (who at 66 also doesn't have the power voice he once had) and it slays me every time. Utterly gorgeous.

Yeah the song is great

My best, most long-time friend, now dead, loved George. It hurts to hear him again but it’s a good hurt.

In the late 90s he did some R&B with Teddy Reilly - Please don't take my mind on a Trip was pretty damn good.

by Anonymousreply 34July 16, 2025 11:47 PM

His register has lowered considerably.

by Anonymousreply 35July 17, 2025 4:50 PM

That's happened to almost every singer of that era, too. Tracey Thorn, Alison Moyet, Paul Weller.....all lower than they had been. Age and/or nicotine will do that to you.
