I’ve never understood the appeal.
I’d watch football if there was a team called the Pansies and they were all fem bottom boys getting pounded by the other team.

Yesterday at the Miami game, some idiot put a hot grill in the back of hie car…it caught fire and destroyed six other vehicles

Very observant, R2. OP, just think of how much fun tailgating would be for theater queens waiting in line for tickets to " Funny Girl" now that Lea is in it. Or, tailgating while waiting for tickets to a one night only concert of " Follies."

Starring Bernadette and Patti!

The idiot author's biggest concern is that they might start banning grills from game parking lots.
I remember tailgating during college. It was fun, especially the big games where there was almost a carnival-like atmosphere.
I also get people wanting to make a day of it because pro game tix are so expensive that you need to make it a fun family event. But, the level of stupid here is astounding.

One bad incident….it’s a great time. Some of you should get friends and have a good time

I have never gotten the appeal but then again I don't drink anymore.

It's a picnic/barbecue in the parking lot before a big sporting event. Alcohol is usually included. You "can't see the appeal" because you're a snob and you think you're better than regular people.

No, I just don’t see what’s so appealing about having a party in a parking lot.

It's basically like going to a gay bar.
Except it's outdoors.
There's better food and booze.
And there are fewer bachelorette parties.

Tailgating during colleges was so much fun. Put on your blazer and tie and start cocktails 2 hours before the game. Sometimes, you never even made it into the game.

This is a gay site. We don't give a shit about you jumping up and down swinging your tits.

Oh there’s tailgating alright.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 12, 2022 4:51 PM |
I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often (fires and such). It's fun to tailgate though.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 12, 2022 4:51 PM |
The car count or now up to 11.
Apparently, some stupid fuck placed a still-burning grill UNDER his car, presumably so it wouldn’t be stolen.

Most asshole tailgaters are men. Fucking cunts.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 12, 2022 4:58 PM |
Mmm, carbecue!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 12, 2022 4:58 PM |
Tailgating anywhere is dangerous. I’m surprised there aren’t more rear-end collisions!

It's not just a party in a random parking lot. The big attraction is whatever event they're seeing later, at the venue near the parking lot where they are tailgating. By having a tailgate, they can meet with other people they know attending the same event. They arrive extra early for a good parking spot, and to kill time, provide some additional entertainment, and "pre-game" (aka get a buzz on).
This really isn't complicated.

Hmmm asking a bunch of prissy older gay men about a football-related tradition.
What could go wrong?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 12, 2022 5:33 PM |
I just don't like when I see other people having fun, especially when they are doing something I don't understand. Other people bother me so I tend to avoid them and keep to myself. It's better this way.

R22 = what we say when str8 people complain about Pride festivals, the Folsom Street Fair, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 12, 2022 5:42 PM |
Tailgating is universal. It's not straight or gay, black or white, rich or poor. Everybody does it.
