Nicki made a LOT of money during her peak. I remember her being on the Forbes list at $80M one year. She had many, many deals, Kmart clothing line, etc. etc.

Also - and this is important - nowadays all the artists coming up are basically in 360 deals which means the labels get a piece of everything they do, kinda why some of these nonentities get so famous so quickly and don’t really have hit songs or albums. Think Meg the stallion. Nicki NEVER had a 360.

Janet's ex-husband was a billionaire from Qatar. After they split up, she complained that she had no freedom and was expected to be subservient as a woman. I have a feeling foreign wives in Qatar probably don't get half of everything owned by their husbands.

Just looked it up, and the law in Qatar is that both spouses take away what they brought into the marriage, and anything earned during the marriage is split up according to earnings shares. So, if a husband makes 95% of the income, he gets 95% of assets when they split. Raising children of course doesn't count as work.

This is not new, money has never bought class, why would you even think that? Money and class are completely unrelated.

I’m so bad with money that I would be touring until I dropped dead. I don’t know how people save money but maybe because I’ve never had more money that my expenses. It’s always been a wash.

Much easier to stomach when you’ve never been rich to imagine blowing through serious money.
