I still don’t think the adopted the kids. I think they used a black surrogate, and later “adopted” the kids, but used Pete’s and Chasten’s seed. If in about 10 years, one is a charismatically polyglot and the other is frumpy, dumpy and dull, we will know for sure.

Actually the boy is Joseph August named after his grandpa Buttigieg aka pete’s dad who was Joseph Anthony so they have the same initials as well. According to former students, people used to just call pete’s dad by his initials and he would sign everything with JAB so i wouldn’t be surprised they planned to give the baby the same initials as joseph buttigieg sr. i guess they wanted him to have his own identity so they use his middle name and obviously chasten copied mandy’s moore baby nickname for her son because he’s like that. Penelope is the name of the last chapter of Ulysses which is pete’s fav book. His memoir’s name also comes from that book. He also got married on the day that book is set aka bloomsday. Pete really had the names thought out for a while, they are full of references.

Gus was the sickly baby; so I am assuming that is the one who got Chasten sperm.

And that creeps me out. Watching his doc on Amazon made him seem endearing and sympathetic, but also weird and unlikeable. I really have mixed feelings with Pete.

First, birthday parties for one-year olds are for the adults only. They are never ever FOR the children.

Second, did they use their children as experiments to create bi-racial babies? They are adorable but this raises questions for me as to motivation and what kind of parent does that.

R55, that notion they only found out they were having twins 24 hours before birth. Every pregnant woman knows if it's twins or not. Are they saying they were not involved with this surrogate or even adoptive mother before that time? How does make any sense?

They just seem so deceptive about all this. It would be one thing if they said nothing and kept it private - that would be their business - but they DO talk and make use of it for PR and what they say just makes them seem like dishonest people. That's not a good feeling for a man who wants to be trusted as a politician.

The headline on pinknews is incorrect. Is it often is with them. Multiple legitimate journalist have confirmed that it was an adoption and nothing in that article says anything else. They just have really bad copywriters. They did not use a surrogate they had an adoption. It sounds like it was the exact same process that Dan Savage used and that many many people have used, including my sister. The authorities will have already cleared them to make sure their house is ready for children and then when something opens up they get a phone call saying that someone has given birth and wants to give their kids up for adoption. It's completely standard and nothing suspicious about it. They are essentially on a list and it happens very very quickly with no warning.

Maybe the mother didn't know she was expecting twins bc she was underage and/or poor and didn't see a gynecologist during her pregnancy. They only found out at the hospital when they were chosen as the adoptive parents.

R75, I remember one of my nephew's first birthday party. I saw him practically every week for at least a day or more and I told his parents (my brother) that he wasn't interested in it and probably wouldn't like it. I was about the only person outside his parents he was really comfortable with. I said I'd come over the day after with his present. Sure enough all the pictures are if him seeming uncomfortable or crying. But my brother and SIL loved to party so be it. I had a lovely after party day with him the next day. He loved his present. He loved his Aunt.
