A LARRY KING SPECIAL: THE DEATH OF QUEEN ELIZABETH

Someone else start, I got nothing.

by Anonymousreply 100September 10, 2022 5:09 AM

She truly was the Queen of Diamonds.

We have Angie Dickinson on the line. Angie, tell us about your dear friend Elizabeth Taylor. We’re you surprised she had such a long and fruitful reign?

by Anonymousreply 1September 8, 2022 7:28 PM

She was a daughter, a wife, a mother and long serving Queen. Whether you are a monarchist or not, you should be able to appreciate that she did her job so very well for a very long time. For all of these reasons, her death should be mourned.

If anyone doesn't understand or appreciate the extinct of her personal sacrifice to a responsibility that was forced on her, you must be a real dumbass.

by Anonymousreply 2September 8, 2022 7:30 PM

Your Majesty, how did you run the country and make all those movies?

by Anonymousreply 3September 8, 2022 7:35 PM

The Queen is dead. I'm shocked. I thought John Travolta would live forever

by Anonymousreply 4September 8, 2022 7:37 PM

Queen gave us stadium rock anthems that world over loved. Her death has rocked the entire globe. And in return? We will rock you our beloved monarch.

by Anonymousreply 7September 8, 2022 8:07 PM

She was the Virgin Queen. Yet she managed to have four children -- Diana, Meghan , Camilla and Harry. Now there's going to be a royal brouhaha over who gets to be the next Queen. My money's on Meghan.

by Anonymousreply 8September 8, 2022 8:09 PM

At the top of the hour, Liza joins us to sing Dancing Queen, live on the phone from Rancho Mirage.

by Anonymousreply 9September 8, 2022 8:10 PM

Why can't we put that nice Prince Andrew on the thread?

by Anonymousreply 10September 8, 2022 8:12 PM

And we're back with Joan Collins talking about the passing of a great, great woman - her Royal Majestically High born Sereneness, the Queen of England. Tell us, Joan. Was it an overdose of GAAARLIQUE?

by Anonymousreply 11September 8, 2022 8:20 PM

Larry: "I was proud to call her a close friend and met her many times. She was one heckuva powerful lady commander when she launched her ships against the Spanish Amrmadillos. An inspiration I can tell ya."

by Anonymousreply 13September 8, 2022 8:40 PM

by Anonymousreply 17September 8, 2022 9:56 PM

Have we received any word yet whether the Queen opted for a private funeral or not? Do we know if she will be cremated?

by Anonymousreply 18September 8, 2022 10:03 PM

Larry: Your Magesty, is it true you once went on spring break with Nancy Reagan?

by Anonymousreply 19September 8, 2022 10:08 PM

We've got... we've got Tina Fernadez, dealer at The Flamingo in Laaaaaas Vegas, Nevada. Tina, what does this loss mean for poker?

by Anonymousreply 25September 8, 2022 11:02 PM

"We have Elizabeth Montgomery on the line. Elizabeth, how do you feel about this momentous occasion? I mean after all the Queen was named after you. Elizabeth? Hello? Mrs. Montgomery?"

by Anonymousreply 26September 8, 2022 11:04 PM

Was it unusual for the Queen to crown Liz Truss as her successor before she died? Was that a sign the Queen knew what was coming?

by Anonymousreply 27September 8, 2022 11:05 PM

by Anonymousreply 41September 8, 2022 11:50 PM

Sir Elton John on the phone:

Sir Elton, if Princess Diana was England's Rose, what will Queen Elizabeth be in your reworked version of "Goodbye, Norma Jean"?

Foxglove? Cranesbill?

"Goodbye, England's Foxglove?" Can you make that work?

by Anonymousreply 42September 8, 2022 11:51 PM

Larry King: Did you know her well Queen Latifah?

by Anonymousreply 44September 8, 2022 11:56 PM

Sir Elton, some people have suggested you might do a medley at Liz's funeral.

Maybe start with a little Peggy Lee "Is That All There Is",

then move into Terry Jacks' "Seasons In the Sun",

you know, "We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun, but the wine and the song like the seasons are all gone."

And then maybe finish up strong with "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"

by Anonymousreply 45September 8, 2022 11:57 PM

You should know R39 you’ve been eating it out my diapers for years!

by Anonymousreply 46September 8, 2022 11:58 PM

Would it be considered poor taste to do a little "Ebony and Ivory" in honor of the Queen's bi-racial daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Sir Elton?

by Anonymousreply 47September 8, 2022 11:59 PM

R34 = Meghan

by Anonymousreply 48September 9, 2022 12:04 AM

Now to Joey Heatherton, who was considered a Queen of Las Vegas in her day,

Joey, is there any truth to the rumor that Sarah Ferguson was alone with the Queen when she died?

Is it just a coincidence that Sarah's daughters have been photographed wearing The Diamond Diadem and The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara and some of the Queen's other favorite pieces of jewelry since her death?

by Anonymousreply 49September 9, 2022 12:06 AM

Now to Don Rickles - Don, is it true that the Liz's funeral will have to be postponed until Queen Consort Camilla's favorite mare is done foaling?

by Anonymousreply 54September 9, 2022 12:15 AM

Welcome Martina Navratilova -

Martina, as we all know Liz drove and repaired ambulances during WWII - did you get a dykey vibe from her?

by Anonymousreply 55September 9, 2022 12:16 AM

Lets talk a minute about the new king, Charles III. Most are asking, why III already? I even haven't seen I and II. But I have seen Jaws I to III. On the phone is famous British Monarchy biographer Pussy Kelley to help with that question.

by Anonymousreply 56September 9, 2022 12:16 AM

Another question for John Douglas - first Prince now the Queen...isn't this the sort of pattern we see with serial killers?

by Anonymousreply 57September 9, 2022 12:19 AM

What kind of party drugs did the Queen enjoy?

by Anonymousreply 58September 9, 2022 12:20 AM

A woman who needs no introduction, celebrity legal commentator and journalist Nancy Grace:

LARRY, I AM TELLING YOU THIS WHITE WOMAN WAS MURDERED!

Hi Diana, this must hard for you, being that you dated Freddie in the 70s and this is so close to Mary Wells’ passing. Tell us, how’s your mom Diana? And how is Michael Jackson handling the news of Princess Grace’s passing?

by Anonymousreply 86September 9, 2022 3:30 AM
