It makes her look spiteful. And how, again, did he take control over her half of the winery if she was able to sell it?

The article is unclear, it sounds at first like Pitt asked for a "hush clause" regarding the winery, then later says Pitt said he wouldn't sell it to her unless she agreed to "a provision designed to prohibit Jolie from publicly speaking about the events that had led to the breakdown of their marriage."

The thing is, she hasn't actually talked about it at all, and it's presumed that there were NDAs signed back when they got divorced in 2019. That's why she makes all those implications about being abused but never outright says it. Why would Pitt ask for another NDA, then?

In the lawsuit where Brad is suing Jolie, her response is due soon. It will be interesting to see her arguments why she didn't violate Brad's right of first purchase and his right of denial of her to sell to whomever she wanted behind his back.

Remember that ever since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 the Russian Oligarch aka Stoli has been trying to get Brad to either sell it to him or partner with him. In fact the document lifting the holds on marital property specifically said it did not give permission to sell Miraval & any other conditions of selling the property such as first refusals or the first right to buy stay in effect. The okay from the court just pertained to the court not holding up a sale for divorce purposes.

Pitt mentioned in his lawsuit that the Russian Oligarch contacted him directly and threatened him through communications. I can't wait to see these threats. Almost entirely because of her looks, though, and not because of any lasting cultural contributions. You have to remember that this was a period where she was famous because of her looks and tabloid antics, and people were waiting for her to prove herself in acting, after having squandered the Supporting Oscar she'd gotten several years earlier. She'd immediately gone into Tomb Raider films and was having to give excuses in interviews to explain why, basically "I signed a contract before the Oscar and I honor my commitments," which played well at first, but by 2005, people were wondering why she had ever been thought of as a good actor.

Mr & Mrs Smith was one of the first of a series of movies meant to make her a real actor, not just a celebrity. If she'd followed it up with good films, maybe it would have worked, but she didn't. She was awful in Good Shepherd and Changeling, in blackface in A Mighty Heart, which wasn't very good, either, and by Salt, it was all over. Every "serious" role she's done has been a complete flop.

When people today say she wasn't A list 17 years ago, it's because they're remembering everything that's happened SINCE then. They get a general feeling that she didn't fulfill the promises her publicity made. It's always so funny how press manipulation can distort things. By the time she hooked up with Pitt, Joile's fame was surviving on tabloid coverage. She had nothing but flops between the first Tomb Raider and Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and was getting only Razzie Award recognition. She was trying to rebrand as a mom and humanitarian, but was only getting coverage for the pap shots she staged. Pitt was was ahead of her box-office wise, and he already had his production company. Where they were "evenly matched" was the interest they could generate their personal lives, and that just exponentially exploded after they got together. But even after that he continued to be way more successful than her her box-office-wise. Just about any film of hers that isn't action or a cartoon has flopped (and even some of the action and cartoon films haven't done so well), while he's had a much more diverse selection of successes despite some expensive flops of his own.

That's why he has more money, and more clout in Hollywood and in the press than she does. Frankly, though, they deserve each other.

A list is more than just box office. Angelina was A-list when they got together for numerous reasons. Everyone knew her who she was. Just the fact that she was cast and shared top billing with Brad at his peak proves her status. She is well past as far as movie career now, but she is still considered an A-list celebrity.

Most celebrities invest their money and do not have a lot of cash. It's possible AJ just owns a lot of real estate or her money is tied up in funds or investments. Asking her ex for loan does not necessarily mean she is broke.

These Hollywood actors are insanely wealthy. I remember there was a lot of chatter (years ago, can’t remember why)) about Kirstie Alley’s finances and many were surprised by how wealthy she was/is. But she hasn’t worked in years! How can she afford such a lifestyle?! etc. Money Invested wisely grows and God knows what other stuff they get paid for doing under the radar.
