The truth is, we aren’t prepared for any crisis or emergency
Looking at COVID and monkeypox, our response has been piss poor.
With climate change, people everywhere are struggling. Here in Cali, people are losing their homes to fires and many aren’t insured and can’t afford to rebuild/move. This hurts the poor and middle class especially. On top of it, our electricity is unstable. We got dangerously close to a blackout, and in this heat not having a fan or air conditioning is dangerous and unhealthy.
Water is becoming a much bigger issue, and it’s not just drought, but poor water quality is on the rise as many states refuse to upgrade their infrastructure, especially for cities with a majority black population.
I feel hopeless. I feel like everything is getting worse instead of better and many of us are doomed. Older generations have failed young people. Many don’t/won’t get to live their lives because of all the sabotage and inaction. They’re selfish assholes and will be the demise of this world if they don’t get out of the way and allow substantial progress.

Tiresome.

Because Americans are soooooooooo fucking busy yelling "USA USA USA" that we didn't train the last five generations on how things work and how to be "great." We just taught them how to yell "USA" with zero to back it up. THAT is why Americans are the dumbest cunts on the planet. No one on earth come close!

For generations, no one thought to limit outlandish population growth and density in cities and states with infrastructure that can't keep up. That's changing somewhat which younger people, but not everyone needs to have children, and I really doubt any family needs more than 3. People flock to cities because they think that's where they are supposed to be but then the power grids of these huge metro areas in the US can't support everyone when the usage goes up. There's not enough housing or services. No shit, we're not ready. We haven't been ready since 9/11 and we weren't ready for Katrina or anything else since.

Never mind America not being prepared, the truth is that civilization itself isn’t prepared for any cataclysmic event. Humanity, with it’s explosive growth over the last century, has a forced very, very thin line between order and anarchy.
It’s a broad and pessimistic statement, but we are beyond the point of no return. The Earth’s population doubled between 1930 and 1975 from 2 billion to 4 billion, and then doubled from 4 to 7.8 in the last 47 years. There’s just too many people.

As long as the 1% are prepared for the natural disasters to come, then everything is going according to plan.

It does feel like we are just sitting here letting the world collapse around us. We’re too busy watching TV and posting on social media.

I agree, OP.
It’s a hopeless feeling, yet we press on.

You could start by learning when not to use apostrophes, 'tard.

“tard”?
Are you 12? Grow the fuck up.

Stop abusing apostrophes. Are you a high school dropout, 'tard?

Stop projecting, R12, you’re embarrassing yourself.

If we're past the point of no return what are we supposed to do?

R15, live mindfully, act wisely, and enjoy the ride. All that arises will pass, including humanity.

R15? Why don't you party like it's 1999?

It's frightening to grow up and realize that no one's really in charge and no one knows what they're doing. We're all just stumbling around in the dark, happy enough to bump into a few fun people in there to keep us company before someone turns the lights on again.
