I had a teacher that was a screamer - I mean going ballistic, spit flying totally batshit when set off, often times for random reasons. She'd absolutely humiliate people (and I was one of them, though the upper classmen came to my defense, so that was kind of cool). But after she'd have these absolute meltdowns, she'd be all be sorry and ashamed about how she'd behaved. She eventually quit teaching (or was told she should "quit") and I heard some story later about how she went ballistic on her bridesmaids at her wedding. She clearly had some mental health issues.

OP, I had a similar teacher for 8th grade Algebra. He used a ruler instead of a bat, and after he slammed it down on the wrong desk and broke a student's finder the principal forbid him to use it and he took up a chalk pointer instead. (If that had happened to me I have every confidence the coroner would have been removing the broken ruler from his throat after my mom paid the school a visit.)

I had a Drivers Ed teacher, (retired football coach) who came to class drunk, and used a MacDonald's food bag rolled down and worn like a crown. This was the 80's; would never happen now.

Never had a particularly bad experience but I remember being told I could take my shirt off because they "turned off the AC on the weekends" once during Saturday school. That priest later got moved to a different parish.......

I remember thinking that you really wanted to avoid any priest that was coming back from missionary work overseas because in the best case, you were getting a religious zealot as a teacher, or in worst case, you were getting a guy who had waited for the statute of limitations to run.

Long story, too long to explain here, but on a field trip in high school I suffered a minor health issue (think panic attack) and needed some air. Mr. Ganim, the Health Teacher who just ADORED the cheerleaders and jocks (and they adored him right back) wasn’t having it.

He pulled me away from the group into an empty hallway and got and inch from my face: “If you don’t get in there right now and finish the assignment, flunking this class will be the least of your problems!” Yes, he was threatening me with physical violence.

I nearly pissed my pants with terror. I hate that fucker and any fucker who threatens or hurts kids.

My Freshman Algebra teacher was a cranky old spinster who wore the same bell shaped dress every day in class. She was mean, and would call you out if you didn't know the answer to things, very impatient, expected you to know everything.

I was glad to get through her class!

Anyway, she retired soon after, and somehow many years later I ran into her at the grocery and she remembered me, telling me I was one of her favorite students. We had dinner together, and I learned more about her life. She spent her life taking care of her younger sister who had MS. It was a full time job, and she took very good care of her sister, and ultimately never got around to dating or meeting men for relationships. It was kind of a sad story, but I recognized that she was a good person ultimately, and that there might have been a reason for her being so harsh in school. She acknowledged that she was a mean old bitch in school (her words) and she wished that she hadn't been. I was glad to reconnect with her after all those years.

That's a weird story. Yes she was human but she was still a BITCH to students so fuck her.

I had a teacher that would basically haze the quiet kids, freshman, in class, make fun of them for a half hour. He also seemed to be interested in me in some bizarre way. I won’t be shocked to hear that he’s in jail for pedophilia some day. Just a weirdo. A short guy with a demonic laugh.

My typing teacher had such terrible breath I could smell it in the whole room. It was inescapable.
