Magazine Scans?
A friend of mine sent me a link to hundreds of scanned issues of Billboard Magazine. Just looking at the ads has been hours of fun. Reminds me of the HOURS my friends and I would spend shopping for music at Sam Goody, Coconuts, and FYW and trying to find the absolute BEST quality blank cassette tapes so we could record each other's purchases..
Anyways, there are also scans of Smash Hits magazine, which are also a lot of fun to click though.
All of this made me think about the recently defunct Q Magazine and the less recently defunct Face. When we were done shopping for music, we would head to Borders to buy giant stacks of magazines, especially Q since it would come with a CD of songs that might never be released in the US. God, the pretentiousness of teens.
So, are Q and The Face scanned and archived anywhere? Mojo? NME?
Thanks for the help...

Does anyone know if old issues of Confidential have been digitized? Or if any university special collections holds the hard copies?
I'd love to read old issues.

I hope Q gets scanned. I have tons from the 90s, I still revisit them to check out reviews from the time and see how the reviews have fared alongside the albums themselves.
The Smash Hits archive is great.

Uh oh! Objectification of Black men is racist according to the rules of Woke. Unless the Black men took agency over those pics themselves and did it as an act of empowerment, and even then White guys can't get a hard-on from looking at hot Black guys.

My parents let me subscribe to a year of Billboard magazine when I was kid. It was pricey since it was this huge magazine at the time that was mailed every week. Circa 1986.

Thanks for posting that site it is fascinating. BTW, because of current events, the link is Television Digest in 1953 critiquing the US network's handling of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. Because it was the first major international television even they covered, it is fascinating to learn about how they covered it. It is funny that ABC, who was known as the baby network, was said to have won in 53 and they still are known for covering the royals. Remember they were the US broadcaster for the Jubilee earlier this year.
