Has Trump Crossed the Line into Outright Delusions?
by Anonymous | reply 105 | September 5, 2022 8:26 PM |
All those people who came to see him are functionally brain dead. I don't think anything registered with them besides the orgasmic cult worship.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 4, 2022 8:17 PM |
Trump crossed that line a long, long time ago... unfortunately not in a galaxy far, far away.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 4, 2022 8:22 PM |
Donald is a narcissistic sociopath, a celebrity and wealthy (at least very good at faking wealth.) None of these predisposes to contact with reality. He also lies constantly so it’s impossible to know what he actually believes.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 4, 2022 8:26 PM |
Trump also called Biden an Enemy of the State.
Pathetic
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 4, 2022 8:28 PM |

He's either senile and doesn't recognize time or he believes Mar Lardo is the White House. Again, senility. Most likely though is him just babbling without thinking first as usual. He doesn't actually care about anyone believing him as, like in his childhood, he'll stick his lip out, cross his arms across his chest and defiantly dare anyone to naysay him.

r21, I phone banked for the NAACP in 2020. As a result of the Democrats' capitulation to the Trans Cult and the WEF, in general, I am re-registering as an Independent and will be voting Republican for the first time in my life, after 22 years of voting. Didn't we have a goddam revolution about this kind of thing?
Trump is as dangerously delusional and unhinged as King George III and we've got millions of citizens who think Trump is rules by Divine Right and he's not even the president anymore (if he ever was ).
We've regressed two and half centuries and we're right back where we started.
We even have a hereditary aristocracy with a Royal family and House of Lords that's looting the treasury of anything that isn't nailed down and do so seemingly with impunity.
Jezuz, even Queen Elizabeth can't pardon criminals like a US president can.
The constitution is ignored- we haven't had habeas corpus since 9/11.
And let's stop with the weepy hand over heart pledges of allegiance to the constitution.
It's all smoke and mirrors for the little people.

In the 1980s, I attended a college in Wilkes-Barre. The people were staunch, union, blue collar Democrats. They were socially conservative. It was and still is a predominantly and traditionally Catholic area. It has two colleges, downtown, so education is highly valued. They were very decent and hardworking people who wanted a better life for their children. They lived within their means. They were pro-union to the core. For the most part, they despised Ronald Reagan.
I'm so shocked that these people became MAGA. I thought they had common sense. Trump is the thorough antithesis of what they valued and believed.

Haha, right R25. First, what does phone banking for the NAACP have to do with Dems and trans people?
Nevermind. Second, so you're saying this:
You used to be pro-choice but Dems accepted trans people so now you're anti-abortion and think a 10 year old getting raped + pregnant is God's plan
You used to be for strong public education but Dems don't demean trans people so now you think we need to divert more tax money to rightwing private for profit Christian schools - and in Public schools make kids say Christian prayers, school lunches should only be for kids whose parents can afford it, and gay kids need to be totally expelled along with kids who have gay parents.
You used to be for strong publicly funded social safety nets but the Dems think trans people aren't demons so now you think food stamps are communism and disability services are communism and Social Security needs to be ended and put in the hands of Private Corporations.
You used to think housing and jobs should be scrutinized to be fair and equitable. But the Dems don't say bad things about transpeople so now you think worker rights are bad and housing should be totally unregulated.
And, one more for the road but there's plenty more, you used to be for gay equal rights but the Dems think transgender people are just people so now you think gays need to be ostracized and erased or, at least, not be allowed to be open in any public setting and CERTAINLY not ever be mentioned in text books or any books for that matter.
Did I get it about right, R25.

r89 the bulk of the walkaways walked away when he refused to concede and as you've seen, the gop is scapegoated the remainers and attempted to push the rest out with more hardline rollbacks.
establishment Republicans want DeSantis but even as hard right (not quite far right) as he is, he's not likely to fit with the new religious reich.. which is another primary R faction that's moving into the mainstream -- the reich has been pushing for far right candidates but they don't want Trump or trumpism either. They were happy to use him for boosting earlier campaigns.. they've all but abandoned him now.
both primary groups, establishment & religious reich will let him self immolate. . . he'll both be used as a scapegoat and a martyr. The fact that he drives you all nuts and you're so easily distracted by him, they'll capitalize on that to stoke party flames but they're going to throw him under the bus and drive the bus over him a few times and likely push it off on celebrity and push for party purity checks.. pushing the party more right than you ever thought trump was.
it's much harder to say whether the rest of the republicans will jump ship or fall in line. . . the kind of divide this sets up is more far more splintered factions, hard right or far right will likely lead the others to push away from the party on the national level, which they may actually end up nationally (though quietly) supporting Ds over Rs while reshifting focus to local candidates that reflect their more moderate (or even progressive) views without necessarily leaving the party; though, some will abandon ship but probably no more than 15%.
so, Trump is left with largely left with conspiracy nutters and watch the world burn types (a few horseshoe far lefties) - maybe a few loyalists - but as Trump feeds on whatever majority he's surrounded by. . . it's going to come to head and as he's the Democrat's primary target. He's got no way out.
But this strategy might hurt Dems in the long run because once again they're stacking all the cards on the public's TDS to rally their base which is just as splintered and met with it's own purity checks but I fear they're diverting too much of their attention away from the other pieces in play.

Republican voters are delusional. They cheered on George Bush and Dick Cheney's illegal invasion of Iraq, until it turned into a quagmire. Then they pretended they had nothing to do with Bush/Cheney. Then they became the Tea Party during the Obama years, mainly because they were freaked out about the black man as President. Then they became MAGAts and cheered on Trump, until he's been impeached twice, incited an insurrection, and now has stolen classified materials. So now they're sidestepping away from Trump but will back the next strong man that comes along (like DeSantis).
They just keep doubling down on these people, meanwhile the Republican Party does nothing to better the lives of ordinary people. But Democrats are getting things accomplished--infrastructure, lowering drug prices, jobs plans, getting the economy back on track after Covid, etc. It's too bad that so many people are brainwashed by garbage culture war issues that they keep cheering on the GQP. It's not working--WAKE THE FUCK UP.

People support the politicians they identify with. In Trump's case, that means small-time bullies, thieves, and liars who fantasize about having the power to bully the whole world.
Trump is who they want to be.
It's purely feelings-based. Rationality is not part of it, which is why Trump and the GOP can utter endless lies and their cult laps it up. Anything that makes them feel powerful and superior succeeds with them, true or not. Anything that makes their enemies look bad works with them, true or not.
It isn't about reality. It's about anything that makes these wannabe despots feel big and powerful.

R100 most of these are angry trolls who feel they've been ignored. The problem with most of them is that they have simply been voting for the wrong party due to brainwashing growing up. The majority are ignorant but harmless, all talk and no action due to obesity and laziness. It's easy to rail against those "libtards" while swilling beer on a discarded sofa on the sagging porch of a single wide. Most of them don't even know what they are voting against except for the buzzwords they hear on Fox. Most have no idea of what real communism is.

R102 The MAGAts will be the first in line with their hands out when a flood, tornado, or hurricane destroys their shitty little town. Yet they scream and holler about government waste. When they talk about government over-spending, it is in regard them believing that the blacks, gays, Hispanics, etc. are getting something free from the government. Their whole mindset is rooted in racism and tribalism. It's sad that there are so many people blinded by those things so that they can't see that the Republicans and Trump specifically are continually ripping them off.
