I'm Terry Sweeney, SNL's first openly gay cast member. I only lasted one season, 1985-1986. Funny, that. I used to impersonate Nancy Reagan.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 4, 2022 12:48 AM |
Do you think these totally forgotten SNLers get invited to the anniversaries? I doubt it. They don't help the brand.
I bet only the ones who found some level of success later elsewhere do.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 4, 2022 12:48 AM |
I'm John Milhiser, the 2nd openly gay cast member.

Robin Duke and Christine Ebersole were at the last big SNL anniversary.

Like Terry Sweeney before me, I also lasted only one season.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 4, 2022 1:00 AM |
Terry Sweeney deserved so much better than the 1 season on the show. His Nancy Reagan really was one of the best impersonations. It’s too bad I can’t post a clip to prove my point.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 4, 2022 1:04 AM |
I'm Rich Hall. I may or may not still be doing stand up.

Terry Sweeney as Nancy Reagan and Madonna as Princess Di is one of my favorite sketches. Madge was surprisingly funny and game for anything on the episode.

R29 no she should not ; and yet I knew she would be on here multiple times.

I'm Paul Brittain. My most memorable recurring character was Lord Cecil Wyndemere. Bob Newhart is my uncle and once hosted the show. I left abruptly in the middle of my second season.

I literally do not remember one thing Morwenna Banks did on the show, nor what she looks like. I could not pick her out of a police lineup.

R22, it's a shame none of Terry's SNL clips are online.
Here is a short interview with Terry.

Brooks Wheelan is not forgotten by me.
I follow him on Instagram, where he documents his stand-up and traveling.
Sometimes he shows off a bit of that lean toned body, which I don't know how he maintains since he seems to be a bit of an alcoholic.

I’m Bowen Yang.

Not by me either but I figured he wasn’t remembered by most. I listened to his podcast for awhile but he had a bad habit of talking over his guests. His comedy album is funny and he talks about getting fired from SNL.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 4, 2022 2:52 AM |
I'm Jeff Richards. You might remember me as my Weekend Update character Drunk Girl. Or maybe not

Laura Kightlinger was with Jack Black for years. Hopefully she made out okay when they split, just as a courtesy from him to her.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | September 4, 2022 4:08 AM |
I'm Laurie Metcalf.
Anyway, if you haven't seen Melanie Hutsell's Paula Deen, it's funnier than anything on SNL today.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 4, 2022 4:24 AM |
I loved Melanie Hutsell.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 4, 2022 5:29 AM |
I'm Julia Sweeney. I'm no relation to Terry Sweeney.

R30 I remember an article about how Pamela Stephenson auditioned by doing like 50 characters and they just used her for background

Jenny Slate isn’t forgotten.

Does anyone remember the late 80s and some really young people like Anthony Michael Hall replacing the older cast? I think it was some kind of strategy to get a younger view audience or did I imagine it?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | September 4, 2022 6:14 PM |
I'm Siobhan Fallon. No relation to Jimmy Fallon.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | September 4, 2022 6:15 PM |
I'm sadsack Melanie Hutsil

Anthony Michael Hall was no relation to Brad Hall {Mr. Louis-Dreyfuss).
by Anonymous | reply 72 | September 4, 2022 6:28 PM |
Adam Rigg
by Anonymous | reply 73 | September 4, 2022 6:29 PM |
Emily Prager is the only performer to receive billing on SNL and never appear on the show - ever
after her is Laurie Metcalf to have the shortest-tenure to ever appear in the SNL cast
by Anonymous | reply 74 | September 4, 2022 6:31 PM |
You're also late to the party, R71.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | September 4, 2022 9:16 PM |
Many of these 'forgotten' members are very unattractive, unfortunately.
John Milhiser is not, at least
by Anonymous | reply 76 | September 4, 2022 9:19 PM |

What a a shit season that was. Anthony Michael Hall, Robert Downey Jr, Joan Cusack, Randy Quaid...what was Lorne thinking?
by Anonymous | reply 79 | September 4, 2022 9:25 PM |
I'm Peter Aykroyd. Brother of Dan Aykroyd.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | September 4, 2022 9:26 PM |
I'm the Sniglet guy, Rich Hall. I was also on SNL knock-off Fridays, and Matt Groening supposedly based Moe Syslak on me.

After Nancy Reagan's memoir of her White House years "My Turn" came out, Terry Sweeney did a one-man show as Nancy Reagan off-Broadway ( or was it off-off-Broadway?) that was called "It's Still My Turn," which was the perfect title for a show about Nancy, one of the all-time greatest control freaks in American history.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | September 4, 2022 9:30 PM |
Emily Prager ran with the National Lampoon crew, which included Gilda, John and Chevy.
And it’s a shame about Pamela Stephenson. She is very talented.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | September 4, 2022 9:34 PM |
[quote] I remember an article about how Pamela Stephenson auditioned by doing like 50 characters and they just used her for background
Fortunately they let her do her brilliant Joan collins sometimes.
I keep searching for the commercial she did as Joan Collins to advertise unbreakable windows where they tied her up against her will, put a helmet on her and used her as a human battering ram, but I have yet to find it.
This is her second funniest Joan Collins sketch, though--with Pamela Sue Martin as Linda Evans!
by Anonymous | reply 84 | September 4, 2022 9:35 PM |
It’s not a strong Mayim impression by Melanie but the fake Blossom opening credits stuck with me for years.

We're Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and the Muppets, from season 1.

I’m the brilliant Albert Brooks. Luckily, I went on to a pretty successful movie career.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | September 5, 2022 12:22 AM |
I’m Charles Rocket, & I was going to be the next Chevy Chase.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | September 5, 2022 12:39 AM |
If Melanie Hutsell were on the show now, she would have been a star. Her Jan Brady was a big breakout, and others like the sorority girls and Tori Spelling got good attention. Back then, they didn’t care as much a about promoting and supporting their women
by Anonymous | reply 91 | September 5, 2022 1:24 AM |
Melanie Hutsell remains one of the most hysterical cast members. She and Cheri Oteri are natural funny-women. I would be laughing before they even did or said anything.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | September 5, 2022 2:01 AM |
In r84's clip, I think Pamela Sue comes closer to Linda Evans than Pamela Stephenson does to Joan.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | September 5, 2022 2:19 AM |
Stephenson's voice was pitched too high for Joan, r93.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | September 5, 2022 2:33 AM |
