21-Year-Old TikTok Star Dies in Tragic Skydiving Accident
TikTok star Tanya Pardazi has died during her first solo skydiving jump. The 21-year-old Toronto University student and 2017 Miss Canada semi-finalist opened her parachute at too “low an altitude,” according to SkyDive Toronto.
The chute failed to deploy properly, and she was pronounced dead after being immediately transported to the hospital near Innisfil, Ontario, where she had jumped with Skydive Toronto.

Don't blame the parachute if the lady delayed pulling the ripcord until it was impossible for the parachute to save her. Like others my first thought was she probably distracted herself posing for the cam.

I'm not sure if those who think it's funny are serious or not but I don't find it funny. It was a terrible accident. If she pulled the chute too late it sounds like she didn't get trained very well. I doubt she purposefully disregarded the instructions and probably wasn't expecting to DIE that day. I can only imagine the terror she must have been in when she realized she had pulled the shoot but was till hurtling towards the ground. She probably realized she was still falling too fast.
Skydiving and bungie jumping are not on my bucket list. Life is dangerous enough without purposefully tossing yourself out of a plane or off a tower and hoping you don't splat.

I truly don’t understand the appeal of skydiving or any other extreme thrill seeking like this. I like a roller coaster or a good thrill ride, but only because I know that I’m secure and, barring some freak accident, it is highly unlikely that I’m going to die. Jumping out of a plane has too many risky variables.

I don't think it's funny R24 but it's so incredibly indicative of the horrific cancer that is tik tok. I have no doubt she wasn't paying attention in her class and was probably more concerned with background music and lip gloss and shit. Her friend said she was always looking for a thrill or something to that effect. But only if it was on film, no doubt. If she did things like this a lot it was probably just a matter of time before something bad happened.

I’m always confused when there’s comments like this Christian one following the Daily Mail report:
[quote]may this poor young lady Rest In Peace, and sincere condolences to her family, may God Bless them and give them comfort in their grief of the sudden loss of their loved one in such a heartbreakingly horrendous way..
Do they think their god(s) couldn’t have prevented this if They wanted to? So why wasn’t it prevented? Plus - isn’t it somewhat contradictory to mourn an Act of God? You’d think this was Their plan. So… PRAISE!

I agree with R24. The sky diving company has some 'splainin' to do. It was her first time out. Shouldn't she have been in a tandem? Also, how do they know she "waited too long" to pull the cord? Maybe her equipment was shit and she tried to pull the cord multiple times, but nothing happened.

My cousin desperately wanted to go skydiving for her 30th birthday. When you dive for the first time ever you do it in tandem with a trained professional. You spend hours that day with this person before even going up. You learn about the equipment, how to brace yourself for landing and what to expect in general. She was so excited and really liked her trainer. I forget his name, but I remember her saying was a really great guy. So she jumped out of plane on her 30th birthday and had a great experience with videos of her wide eyed and amazed with her trainer smiling in the background, thumbs up, guiding their way down.
The following weekend her trainer went up with another newbie. Their chute didn't open and they were killed.

Brain freeze is of course possible but seems unlikely after the staticcord jumps and jumps with the instructor. If she was messing this maneuver in practice the instructor would have not scheduled the solo jump.
"The chute failed to deploy properly" would indicate she did pull the ripcord but either too late or the chute's rigging was improperly packed.

The snap back was HARSH, will never try that again.
I’d never parachute without an experienced jumper whom I’m strapped to.
Because I’m older and already did the bungee jump solo, I have zero desire to seek this out as a thrill.
Roller coaster rides were great when I was a kid/teen, but as an adult? Those rides can REALLY fuck with your lower back and hips.
I’ve done them as an older person post 40, but find them unnecessary as a way to have fun.
We cannot stay young forever. Eventually, you realize that if you wanna make it past 80, without major aches, pains, and surgeries, you’ve gotta be smart and set things aside to what you once did, and what you should not be doing ow, ESPECIALLY when you’ve got children.

𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞 or company negligence.
A 21-year-old TikTok influencer who was killed during her first solo jump died after her main parachute failed to open - despite the fact it was supposed to have been automatic.
The company then sheds some light on exactly what the course entails, particularly it culminating skydive, which sees students jump solo from a plane at 4,000 feet for 'a fall of up to 5 seconds.'
It adds that during the leap, learners would be 'dispatched by a Jumpmaster,' who will assist them in exiting the plane. At this point, organizers wrote that 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 '𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆.'
That line, organizers wrote, then 'automatically deploys your main parachute' during the brief fall.
Pardazi, a philosophy student at Toronto University, had completed one course with the with the company based in Innisfil, Ontario, before her death, making her eligible to undergo what organizers billed as a 'Solo First Jump Course' on her own.
'This course includes a skydive from 4,000 feet,' the lesson plan reads.
It then adds that after the parachute's automatic deployment, 'Ground Control Instructor' will give you radio instructions over a walkie-talkie on how to navigate your parachute back to the landing area for a touchdown.'
It is not yet clear why, but in Pardazi's case, the parachute failed to deploy.

R147 I hope when I hear these cases, that the person dies of heart attack during flight so they are dead before they hit the ground, or pass out at least. It would be horrible to be awake the entire time.
