Shirley Temple had that fake cutesy voice drove me nuts. But she was just magic as a tap dancer even as a small child. Watch the dance break of this famous scene she did with Buddy Ebsen in "Captain January."

Glenn Ford looked like Archie Bunker. White sox, no lips and no jawline.

Carmen Miranda was neither attractive or amusing. I don't get it.

I avoid all Grace Kelly movies. Terrible actress and really boring screen presence. Her dresses make more of an impact than she does.

Mickey Rooney was cute for a minute - but so fucking ON and caffeinated he makes Judy seem sleepy.

Though I like her in "Modern Times" (and that's about it), Paulette Goddard.

I realize that this was only a screen test and that the stakes were very high, AND that no one could ever come close to Vivien Leigh's characterization, but this is truly dreadful. At one point, she was the favored actress for Scarlett. I can't even imagine.

Paulette Goddard had the most enormous forehead. She really only looked good with bangs. I enjoy her in vampy villainess roles rather than heroines. “Hold Back The Dawn” is a good one.
