Ohio Jurors Will See Where Pike County Massacre Took Place as First Member of the Wagner Family Stands Trial
[quote] The victims are Christopher Rhoden Sr., 40, ex-wife Dana Manley Rhoden, 38, their children Christopher Rhoden Jr., 16, Hanna Rhoden, 19, and Clarence “Frankie” Rhoden, 20, Christopher Sr.’s cousin Gary Rhoden, 38, Sr.’s brother Kenneth Rhoden, 44, and Frankie’s fiancée Hannah “Hazel” Gilley, 20. Authorities said the killings happened across three trailers and one camper. All but one of the victims were shot multiple times in the head. “There’s blood everywhere,” Dana’s sister Bobbi Jo Manley said in a 911 call about finding six of the victims.
[quote] The April 22, 2016 killings were a mystery for years. Authorities said in November 2018 that they solved it, arresting George IV’s father George “Billy” Wagner III, George III’s wife Angela Wagner, and the couple’s younger son Edward Jake Wagner. It turned out that Jake had a child with Hanna Rhoden and had recently split up with her. He took custody of their daughter and the Wagner family moved to Alaska after the killings.

That guy pictured is exactly the kind of tard-face I picture when I think of someone who goes on a killing spree described in OP. A winner would never.

I followed this case on Topix as it happened and for many months after. There were some crazy posters on those threads but some of the information rang true. It's nice to see these vile pieces of shit finally stand trial.

R2 -- Those true crime shows like Dateline have numerous episodes with this sad situation: a couple splits up and the kids are given to one spouse and/or shared custody. Soon, one parent decides that the child(ren) should be with them, for reasons like hate of ex-spouse, they don't like the visitation setup, they don't want to pay child support, they believe they are the better parent, etc.
Usually a new spouse is enlisted in the plot - new husband is brainwashed that the ex is molesting the child, neglecting the child, abusing, etc. and before you know it, new husband is seen on a store camera buying a shovel, tarps and cleaning supplies. There was one sad episode where an ex-wife got her new husband to drive hours to another state to kill her previous husband she would have full-time custody. New husband gunned down the man in his driveway. Unfortunately, the man's new girlfriend was killed too, as gunman decided to catch them getting out of their car and she was a witness. Two people dead because of one selfish woman, the shooter and woman going to jail and the child(ren) losing their parents. This case with 6 people dead is bananas - the killers went hardcore.

I remember another horrific story showing what people will go to get a child. Picture a sweet old grandmother looking woman, from some Midwest state. Her son gets divorced and the child goes with the ex-wife, and has limited visitation with dad. Grandma was there as the child grew up - sonny lived with his mom on her land and the grandbaby moving away hit Grandma hard.
The ex-DIL is supposed to pick up the child from Grandma's place after a scheduled visit with her father, but Grandma says she never showed up. Police are called and the case eventually goes cold and the mom is put on missing persons list. Later the sad truth comes out: Grandma did not want her precious grandchild out of her life, so when the ex-DIL showed up, Grandma killed her and buried her on her land. More horrific is that the ex-DIL showed up with her friend and Grandma killed her too. Sonny was not involved at all - it was all because his mother could not let go of the child.

I'm pissed that the two grandmothers are not being prosecuted. They knew a lot of what was planned.

R6, I'm amazed at how many murders involve a child custody dispute....

This story is crazy. Watching on Court TV. It definitely is going to get the Hollywood treatment eventually.

He’s on the stand and doesn’t seem evil. However, the mother was. It sounds like she controlled them.

It's who I picture when I think of all of the morons (including on DL) who go on about "saving western civilization" and all of the white nationalist crap. That's what most of them look like.
