I think he’s just more active on social media being around Maia since she is.

R8 he’s not queer baiting, he just doesn’t believe in labels. A male actor can play gay roles on TV, flirt publicly with his openly gay friends, only date women in private, and still be a part of the queer community (as an unlabeled person). How is that queer bating? If Kit is actually straight, where does that leave all the hetero teen girls who worship Kit, fetishize gay men, and desperately want to call themselves queer? They NEED to be a part of this community, and Kit’s their ticket in.

R10 Is he a part of the queer community if he's completely unlabelled, though? He hasn't openly acknowledged sexual attraction to other men. I feel like someone is either straight or queer, and they don't need to be any more specific than that but at least own the queerness. Of course, no one HAS to label themselves but I'm unsure why Kit can't just own the very non-specific 'queer' label at the very least (if he's anything other than straight). To me, 'unlabelled' comes across as a bit of a safety net in this case.

I don't think he's queerbaiting for playing a role, but he does benefit from HS (and Joe being out and gay so people can hope and dream they'll get together) while also being straight enough to play the lead in romcoms. He's not as stupid as Harry Styles is though. I don't think he'll make playing a gay role his whole personality for the rest of his life and give advice on gay sex.

Best bet is to take the unlabeled thing at its word and treat him as not belonging to any community until he decides to be clear about what exactly he’s attracted to. I have my suspicions, but those aren’t enough to start rolling out the red carpet into the gay community.

Don’t know if it’s Maia’s influence but he’s really upped his interactions on social media in the last week or so and seems much more comfortable in his own skin. Probably reading too much into him liking that one tweet last week but while he’s always been a bit flirty with Will and Bash in particular it feels like he’s taking it up a notch at the moment. Interesting given so much of what he says and posts and reacts to publicly is very intentional and thought out.

Liking a tweet about 'beating the straight allegations' and how people shouldn't assume he's straight based on the fact that he's masculine seems like more than crumbs to me. It would be such a bizarre thing to like if he was straight.

The one thing I can’t get past is I have a hard time imagining a 16 year old willing to go gay for pay. While he seems serious enough about his career, as he’s said in interviews he’s “just Kit.” Didn’t go to a specialty drama school, tried to lead a relatively normal life outside of filming.

Kit's onscreen chemistry with Joe is fantastic. He emits so much emotion non verbally and especially through his eyes. And his heart eyes game is on point. In the second comic there is a lot more flirting and kissing/making out scenes and the hickey scene. It'll be interesting if they include most of this in the show or if it will be toned down.

His interviews are polished; totally agree that his social media interactions feel like they’re very much him.

I still don’t think he and Maia are a thing; Maia is v SM savvy and they’ve been told to play up for publicity for the film. R68 I think you may have missed a book, there are 4 published so far. Volume 5 is supposed to be the last one, but it’s been delayed and will probably continue to be delayed because of the show.

She answered a question about adapting the “Nick & Charlie” novella a couple of weeks back and the answer was basically “maybe.” From what she’s said before, she’s calculated that it would take 4 seasons to cover the 5 volumes of the comic. The “This Winter” novella events have already been vaguely referenced in the comic, it would make sense for her to just incorporate it into the show in that spot.

R71 I don’t think there’s any way of knowing, but from what I’ve seen discussed previously his finsta is a handful of his school friends (including the ones he went to LA with), the 5 other teen HS cast, some others like Jenny, Alice, etc. She’s been integrated into the HS group and is clearly friends with him so I think it’s likely.

I don’t know what her finsta is, but she’s not following him with her photography (?) account.

Alice has been having a little Q&A on her Twitter page (she's STILL writing the scripts - how long does 8 short episodes take when you also have an existing graphic novel to base it on?!), and she's confirmed that she (and therefore at least some of the cast) will be at the NTAs.

R79 I think they all know it’s kits to lose. I get the vote splitting concerns but the HS fans are diehards and Kit is clearly the more popular of the two, 1.2 million more followers than Joe. There’s a reason Kit (who maybe mentioned the long list once or twice?) has been all over the shortlist telling people to vote and Joe, who was really excited re the long list, has been so apathetic re the shortlist. I believe Joe actually deleted the original tiktok he made about the long list; don’t blame him as why set yourself up for disappointment? I like kit and think he’s talented but don’t love that rising star can now refer to someone with a 10+ year career; that being said I’d be shocked if anyone else won it.

Trade paper said November and then other website said Sept. 13th with a spring 2023 release, which seemed a very quick turnaround to me.

Keep in mind they're filming in Paris for season 2, so that must be a pre-production nightmare to get filming permits to the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, etc. I don't think filming is happening until November at the earliest in my opinion.

In terms of the Kit/Maia dating speculation, surely the fact that - I assume - she lives in the US means that they'd avoid getting together because she's only here for like a month? I wouldn't be surprised if Kit eventually moves to LA but I can't imagine it being for a little while yet.
