Why is Cathy Lee Crosby shaking her tits in my face!!

The Fonz with long hair and a beard!

by Anonymousreply 2August 27, 2022 10:52 PM

I vaguely remember wanting John Davidson to fuck me.

by Anonymousreply 3August 27, 2022 10:52 PM

Well this was depressing. I remember all of them, and most of them are dead.

by Anonymousreply 4August 27, 2022 10:54 PM

Hold my beer.

OT, mostly. But OP got me thinking about old-time TV.

This clip is from December 1979. It features a sublime intro dance from Deney Terrio, along with his featured dance team Diane and Toni, who performs as "Motion"!

^^^ I forgot to mention that this clip features a spirited entrance from young actress/guest judge Mimi Kennedy.

by Anonymousreply 7August 27, 2022 11:07 PM

Joyce DeWitt is the only one who looks comfortable doing this. You can always tell those actors who can handle musical theatre in things like this. They make it work.

by Anonymousreply 8August 27, 2022 11:22 PM

A photo of Marian Mercer's head is edited on a dancing body at 1:19. How strange.

by Anonymousreply 9August 27, 2022 11:28 PM

More promos and more old timey clips!!

What the hell show was Burgess Meredith in circa 1980?

It actually looked good on him.

Those Amazing Animals

by Anonymousreply 13August 28, 2022 2:11 PM

Hal Linden looked like he was having the time of his life.

by Anonymousreply 14September 30, 2022 10:18 PM

I feel sorry for most of the actors that they had to be a part of that.

by Anonymousreply 15September 30, 2022 10:24 PM

Sadly, for Burgess, Priscilla Presley, and Jim "Spiders & Snakes" Stafford, "Those Amazing Animals" was cancelled after its first season.

I wonder how much coke got sniffed during that taping.

by Anonymousreply 17September 30, 2022 10:38 PM

I’m still available R3!

Networks don’t have pride in their product the way that they used to; I anticipated these specials and the new programs they would highlight. I especially looked forward to the ones promoting the Saturday morning shows. Pathetically, this was water fountain talk in 1970s grade school circles.

by Anonymousreply 19September 30, 2022 10:53 PM

Well SCTV certainly knew how to celebrate their greatest....

^^^ Rats! Stinky Linky!^^^

by Anonymousreply 21September 30, 2022 11:05 PM

R19, I would get the fall tv schedule from the paper, watch the preview shows and circle the shows I’d watch each week.

by Anonymousreply 22September 30, 2022 11:09 PM

I hope to God they were all coked out of their minds. That was more humiliating than blowing Sam Goldwyn.

by Anonymousreply 23September 30, 2022 11:14 PM

let's try this AGAIN...SCTV showcasing some of their phenomenal talent

Which of Diana Canova's half-dozen failed sitcoms is she representing here?

by Anonymousreply 25September 30, 2022 11:14 PM

Where the fuck was I? Practicing my pivots in the communal dressing room?

by Anonymousreply 26September 30, 2022 11:25 PM

Was trying to figure out who the extreme blonde woman was and couldn't think of anybody..

Had to cheat and look at the youtube link. Ann Jillian

by Anonymousreply 27September 30, 2022 11:27 PM

It’s a Living was on ABC? I totally remember it on some local cable access channel and not being a “real” TV show?

by Anonymousreply 28September 30, 2022 11:47 PM

Hal Linden was enjoying this too much.

by Anonymousreply 29September 30, 2022 11:48 PM

Thank god Linda Lavin wasn’t there scatting all over the stage.

by Anonymousreply 30September 30, 2022 11:48 PM

I remember that promo OP!

My eyes are going - was that Tom Hanks spinning around up there? Did I miss Peter Scolari and his round muscle ass?

by Anonymousreply 31September 30, 2022 11:56 PM

R28 It was an ABC show from 1980-82. It was canceled and returned as a first-run syndicated show frim 1985-90.

by Anonymousreply 32October 1, 2022 2:15 AM

R25: I'm a Big Girl Now, with Danny Thomas as her father.

by Anonymousreply 33October 1, 2022 7:50 PM

Overall not really a banner year for the programming department.

by Anonymousreply 34October 1, 2022 7:57 PM

R3- That fantasy never would have worked in real life because John Davidson is a TOTAL bottom.

by Anonymousreply 35October 1, 2022 8:02 PM

R18- LOL 😝

by Anonymousreply 36October 1, 2022 8:02 PM

R31: Yep, that's Tom Hanks. And no, you didn't miss Peter Scolari, he isn't in it.

Here's who I spotted, in the order in which they appeared (more or less):

Hal Linden, Henry Winkler, Arthur Peterson, Dianne Kay, Inga Swenson, James Noble, Burgess Meredith, John Davidson, Ricardo Montalban, Robert Urich, Cathryn Damon, Gavin McLeod, Diana Canova, Connie Needham, Lauren Tewes, Fred Grandy, Robert Guillaume, Cathy Lee Crosby, Joyce DeWitt, Missy Gold, Robert Donner, Tom Poston, Phyllis Davis, Laurie Walters, Roscoe Lee Brown, Marion Ross, Tom Bosley, Al Molinaro, Cindy Williams, Penny Marshall, Donna Dixon, Tom Hanks, Susan Sullivan, Paul Kreppel, Ann Jillian, Jill Whelan, Erin Moran, Bernie Koppel, Caroline McWilliams, Marian Mercer, Lydia Cornell, Ted Knight, Danny Thomas, Barbara Barrie.

Can anyone i.d. the woman boogeying down next to Robert Donner (Exidor from Mork & Mindy) at 0:40? She looks familiar, but I can't place her.

by Anonymousreply 37October 1, 2022 9:48 PM

R37 People on Twitter were asking the same question about the woman dancing next to Robert Donner, but nobody could identify her.

by Anonymousreply 38October 5, 2022 4:05 AM

She’s annoying as fuck!

by Anonymousreply 39October 5, 2022 5:12 AM

Booooooo! R39. Whoever she is, she's kinda perfect.

by Anonymousreply 40October 6, 2022 11:45 PM

Now go back through the video and count how many are still alive
