Now do we think she truly chose to not return or Sam Levinson fired her after they didn’t get along on season 2, resulting in him cutting her out of most of the show?
Kat is Out!- Barbie Ferreira is “not returning” for Euphoria season 3

Good! This newbie twat seriously thought she could lecture the showrunner -- whom I dislike -- on how her tertiary character should be written, and in the second season already? Who does that?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 24, 2022 11:46 PM |
this matters a lot. thank you.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 24, 2022 11:47 PM |
That's on Sam Levinson. He can't write female characters and refuses to expand the writers' room. His only endgame is to see some teenage tits, it's embarrassing.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 24, 2022 11:49 PM |
Agree r2.
I liked her performance fine enough in Season 1, but I have little sympathy. An actor refusing to do their job because they disagree with the writing choices? Suck it up, that's how it works, you are the actor not the writer. You aren't Zendaya hon, and your ego is too big if you think you can be that demanding to work with.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 24, 2022 11:50 PM |
To be fair r5, Jacob Elordi made demands and all of them were met by Levinson.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 24, 2022 11:51 PM |
Didn't she also audition for the Madonna role? Talking about audacity here.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 24, 2022 11:51 PM |
She should lose the weight again and reinvent as a leading lady. Stunt on Sam Levinson.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 24, 2022 11:54 PM |
That is just online gossip r6. With Barbie her and Sam's arguments were widely reported. She refused to go to the premiere. Helen Keller can see the tension.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 24, 2022 11:56 PM |
She’ll never be a leading lady but she can do more supporting roles
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 24, 2022 11:56 PM |
R9 the gossip about Jacob has been floating around since last year, while they were still filming season 2. When the show came out everything rumored was confirmed.

Levinson writes nudity, equal opportunity r4. God knows there has been many penises and just as much male nudity on screen as female.
He has many faults as a writer but trying to suggest it is just about being exploitative of woman is untrue.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 24, 2022 11:59 PM |
Her post makes it sound like she was let go.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 25, 2022 12:00 AM |
Respectfully disagree R12, it's way more gratuitous with the girls. He's got a Cassie obsession, the 23 year old actress even requested the nudity he wrote for her be cut it back. He thinks it's character development to show her drunk dancing in a bikini for 5 min, you know little about what she thinks but you see all about how hot she is.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 25, 2022 12:04 AM |
How is it worse with the females? They’ve only shown tits a few times. Rewatch season 1. Jacob Elordi is beyond exploited in it, a male.

You didn't see that guy flop out his dick on the toilet bowel? There's been no split beaver stuff.

So does her character die a grueling death?
Haven’t watched the show—
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 25, 2022 12:09 AM |
R16 that’s what I’m saying. Tons of dick. We haven’t seen a single vagina. At all.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 25, 2022 12:09 AM |
Will she show up to the Emmy’s now? Doubtful. Season 2 is nominated
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 25, 2022 12:14 AM |
She was fired. It happens.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 25, 2022 1:16 AM |
Sucks to be her. Meanwhile, I’m getting a huge pay raise
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 25, 2022 1:19 AM |
Levinson is one of the few writers/directors I consider to be actually homophobic. All of his gay or bisexual characters are psychopathic and depraved assholes.

Everyone on Euphoria is fucked up.

They fired McKay last season and I feel like that was barely discussed, at least Barbie is getting more of a reaction than he did.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 25, 2022 3:03 AM |
R28 because he wasn’t fired. He was also in the season 2 premiere.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 25, 2022 3:13 AM |
Didn't they say he bailed? I think his character was meant to have a gay/bi plotline.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 25, 2022 3:22 AM |
Maybe they gave his storyline to Dominic Fike's character.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 25, 2022 3:23 AM |
No r31. McKay is a main character in season 1 and in college, dating Cassie and best friend to Nate Jacobs. Elliott was introduced in the season 2 premiere, which also features McKay. McKay wasn’t having a bi storyline. Jesus. You all project that onto everyone. Newsflash, most people are hetero.
McKay’s storyline was going to be the same as Maddy, dealing with his ex who is now fucking his best friend.
Instead of it being a triangle it would be quadruple. The actor was unhappy because he felt he was not being given enough to do.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 25, 2022 3:28 AM |
Honest question. Who is this fucking show for?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 25, 2022 3:30 AM |
However, months ago it was said Algee Smith and Sam Levinson were talking about McKay coming back for season 3.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 25, 2022 3:31 AM |
McKay didn't feel like a main character.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 25, 2022 3:32 AM |
R33 you’ve asked this on other Euphoria threads. We’ve answered.
Tweet HBO and ask them. Maybe they will have an answer as to who their 17+ aimed, Emmy award winning series (that is their second highest rated series ever) is for.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 25, 2022 3:33 AM |
McKay had an opening backstory segment in season one. Only the main characters receive those.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 25, 2022 3:33 AM |
McKay was definitely a main character of Season 1, though not a successful one IMO. Did anyone miss him in season 2?
And Euphoria was HBO's highest rated show since Game of Thrones r33. It's a huge pop culture phenomenon.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 25, 2022 3:35 AM |
R36 I haven’t asked about this show before.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 25, 2022 3:37 AM |
Season 1 backstories
Episode 1- Rue
Episode 2- Nate
Episode 3- Kat
Episode 4- Jules
Episode 5- Maddy
Episode 6- McKay
Episode 7- Cassie (and to an extent Lexi).
Episode 8 no backstory
Season 2 only gave us two more backstories for two main characters because we already received the backstories of everyone else.
Episode 1- Fez and Ash
Episode 3- Cal Jacobs

Oh gosh darn it, we won't be able to see some fat mumbly emo girl mumble on TV.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 25, 2022 4:03 AM |
I don't think the show will be at a loss if Kat was written out, she was dead weight. I don't like how the second season completely dropped her underage cam girl storyline with no resolution. They also should write off Maddy as she serves little purpose other than being a bitch. In fact I'm kinda disappointed by all the plot holes. Will the third season have Rue paying off the thousands she owes that drug lord woman? Will they give Jules more to do? I really hope Nate ends up dead or in jail.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 27, 2022 12:20 AM |
That wasn’t a plot hole. It will be resolved in season 3.
