I feel like Rhoda but people treat me like Mary.

Rhoda, simply for the fact that I think I am still traumatized, 30+ years later, by the vile cocksuckers who loved to call everyone Mary. Why would a three floor home, with three apartments in it have a unit 9E?

Although it stretched the imagination, it had more than 3 apartments. There was an episode where we met Mary’s downstairs neighbor. What I never got is why Rhoda was in that tiny apartment, yet earned more than Mary.

Me? I guess I'm Sue Ann since I like to cook and organize and once upon a time I loved hosting dinner parties. That was before everyone became a pain in the ass with their gluten sensitivities and various other self inflicted restrictions.

Rhoda was funny and pretended to be fat while being skinny. She is the good version of a gay man.

Mary was a type A stick in the mud with her nose to the grindstone for a job she just randomly happened upon and had no reason to dedicate so much of her life to. She is the annoying version of a gay man.

R36 As an aside, I think MTM said she felt that was the worst episode of the MTM Show, and they tried to avoid "message" shows after that episode aired.

As an aside to my aside, the CBS Saturday night lineup in the 1970s was possibly the best TV comedy lineup in the history of broadcast television: All in the Family, M*A*SH, The MTM Show, The Bob Newhart Show, and The Carol Burnett Show. It was also a good excuse for a closeted gayling not having a Saturday night date!

I’m a Mary, you Mary’s and not a Rhoda-slob. I I keep a clean and tidy house, dress well and know how to entertain though the latter wasn’t one of Mary’s strengths but I’m really a Mary.
