This dumb fucking formula movie is so goddamn watchable.
Piper Perabo really could have been something if she had come along 10 years earlier when there were better scripts for young actors. One of the most captivating smiles ever on celluloid.
Then there’s cutie Adam Garcia with his smooth dance moves and an ass that rivals Gene Kelly’s donk.
Maria Bello does what she can with the hard ass boss character.

Don't remember the movie at all, but my straight 21-year-old BFF at the time (2004 or so) was obsessed with it. So much so, she actually moved to Vegas and repeatedly tried to get a job at the Coyote Ugly bar on the Strip! She had to bartend while dancing on the bar top. It was a riot.
She never did get the job. But she had fun trying.
God, I love that crazy bitch.
(Married with two kids now, but still a blast.)

I can't sit through this. Back then, there was a Sunday Times article about young actors. This film was one of the projects mentioned in the piece.bullshit movie, actors were obsessed with being hired for a bullshit forgettable project.

I'm not gay enough to enjoy this movie. I always turned it when it came out TV and it was always on TV in the mid-2000s. It's such a crappy chick flick like Crossroads or those Reese Witherspoon movies. At least Showgirls is so bad it's good especially with the crappy TV edits

It's pretty terrible. I don't remember it being fun enough to merit a second or third look.
Remember when Maria Bello was a thing? She seemed to be everywhere for a while. A decent actor, but never a star.
The rumor was that John Goodman was hurting for money so badly, despite all the years on ROSEANNE (booze? coke? gambling debts?) that he signed on not having even read the script. Apparently he just hated this project.
