Kick a cast member off your favorite TV series!

Inspired by the "kick a state out of your region" thread.

On almost every TV series (past or present), there's at least one totally disposable character or weakest-link actor or someone whose presence onscreen you cannot stand, and without whom the show would still be good -- or even better.

So, on a series you love, who'd get the boot?

Go!

Linda Evans -- Dynasty

by Anonymousreply 1August 21, 2022 12:23 PM

Mr. Viola on Moonlighting.

by Anonymousreply 2August 21, 2022 12:27 PM

Joan Collins (DYNASTY)

by Anonymousreply 3August 21, 2022 12:28 PM

This will be controversial but I don’t think The Good Wife ever needed Kalinda.

by Anonymousreply 4August 21, 2022 12:35 PM

Silver Spoons would have been just fine without Ricky Schroeder

by Anonymousreply 5August 21, 2022 12:38 PM

The grating, hammy, awful Bella Thorne taking over the role of Teenie Henrickson in Season Four of "Big Love." It was a bit part but she ruined every scene she was in.

by Anonymousreply 6August 21, 2022 12:41 PM

Georgette on MTM? I like the actress in smaller dosages, and she could be funny when she had a bit of bite under her sweetness (Everyone Loves Raymond and even at the end of MTM when she started to get irritated with Ted). However, the later episodes that her and Ted's relationship was the focus in an attempt to humanize Ted could be painful. Ted would act like an ass the entire episode and learn a lesson at the end, but clearly not long lasting, since Ted would be the same man child in the next episode. If you are going to have some repetitive character growth episodes, at least show some character growth outside those episodes.

Although to be fair, some of Maury's home episodes were just as bad. I recently saw the episode where he desperately wants a son and has an insta-adoption of a 10 year old Vietnamese orphan who shows up out of nowhere in the last few minutes.

Howard on Bob Newhart. Emily and Bob had enough chemistry and potential conflicts that he was not really necessary for the home scenes and the characters at the office were funnier.

by Anonymousreply 7August 21, 2022 12:44 PM

This is a fun idea!

I'll go in chron order and will force myself only to do main cast members:

I Love Lucy: William Frawley would not have been a huge loss.

Golden Girls: Sorry, Sophia. You're cute, but inessential.

Designing Women: Sayonara, Charlene. Better work awaits you in a few decades.

The Sopranos: AJ would have been a better plot device had he been whacked by the NYC mob.

Six Feet Under: I never liked Michael C. Hall in his role.

by Anonymousreply 8August 21, 2022 12:48 PM

Anne Winters as Charly Burke, Seth MacFarlane's current fuck, on season 3 of "The Orville."

Chris Elliott in everything, but especially "Schitt's Creek."

Sheldon from "Young Sheldon" and "The Big Bang Theory."

by Anonymousreply 9August 21, 2022 12:51 PM

That fat blonde “kooky” cunt on Criminal Minds who was in her 50s but dressed like a retarded teenager. She was nearly always in front of a computer, trying and failing to have infantile banter with the black dude. I was pissed off when her stalker didn’t kill her.

by Anonymousreply 10August 21, 2022 12:54 PM

Jerry could have been played as well by a Muppet on Seinfeld. All the others were indispensable and made the show what it was.

by Anonymousreply 11August 21, 2022 12:54 PM

Richard Lewis on Curb Your Enthusiasm. I know several people who have told me they won't watch it because he was in it for a while. He's that much of a turnoff to people.

by Anonymousreply 12August 21, 2022 12:56 PM

Mrs. Maisel. I bet a version of the show in which she is never actually shown could be better. All Joel and her perky bosoms and Maisel's parents in their cool clothes. I would believe Maisel was hilariously funny only if I never heard Maisel try to deliver jokes.

by Anonymousreply 13August 21, 2022 12:58 PM

Robert Rodan on Dark Shadows. Adam was an annoying, whiny little baby who threw temper tantrums every time he didn't get his way and got annoying very quickly.

by Anonymousreply 14August 21, 2022 12:58 PM

Not a great show to begin with, but Rules of Engagement brought on a character in the later seasons whJaso was the assistant of the David Spade character. His sole purpose seemed to be to kiss Spade's ass while secretly rolling his eyes.

Jason on The Good Place. The actor could be funny and endearing, but the character was a bit more one-note and ran its course before the show was over.

by Anonymousreply 15August 21, 2022 1:05 PM

Michelle on Drag Race.

by Anonymousreply 16August 21, 2022 1:09 PM

I dont get the premise of the question. They're my favorite shows, they are all essential to me, at least as far as the main cast.

by Anonymousreply 17August 21, 2022 1:12 PM

Dawson - Dawson's Creek

by Anonymousreply 18August 21, 2022 1:13 PM

's Creek would be an inventive title!

by Anonymousreply 19August 21, 2022 1:14 PM

Miami Vice: The "whacky" comic relief informant characters on early seasons, Iggy and "the Noog Man."

Another World: Mac Cory. There, I said it! Tiresome old windbag.

Dallas: Lucy

Northern Exposure: Shelly. Gurl, STFU.

by Anonymousreply 20August 21, 2022 1:14 PM

Grace - Will and Grace

by Anonymousreply 21August 21, 2022 1:17 PM

Three's Company: Larry Cheers: Rebecca, only because I love Shelley Long and hate Kirstie Alley

by Anonymousreply 22August 21, 2022 1:19 PM

R16

That really bothers me because green is my favorite color! And especially as a May born.

by Anonymousreply 23August 21, 2022 1:19 PM

I wish Giles had fucked off of Buffy for good after the fourth season. He was dead weight by the end.

by Anonymousreply 24August 21, 2022 1:20 PM

R24, if we’ve arrived at Buffy, there is only one option.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 25August 21, 2022 1:23 PM

Fred on ANGEL

Neelix on VOYAGER

Stan on GOLDEN GIRLS

Anthony on DESIGNING WOMEN

Dawn on BUFFY

by Anonymousreply 26August 21, 2022 1:25 PM

But I hated Dawn’s counterpart on Angel, Connor, considerably more. He fucked up both the series and the character of Cordelia.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 27August 21, 2022 1:26 PM

Joss Whedon fucked up the character of Cordelia.

by Anonymousreply 28August 21, 2022 1:30 PM

R21 That one is crazy. Debra Messing as herself is nearly as tedious as Gwyneth Paltrow as herself, but I think the Grace character was a great TV character. She was at least half Lucy Ricardo impersonator, granted, but she made me laugh a lot. Will was very nice to look at in his fitted sweaters but he wasn't great for laughs.

by Anonymousreply 29August 21, 2022 1:32 PM

Loretta Switt, MASH. Every line in every scene is delivered by shrieking and screaming. Never watchable and always annoying. JK Rowling as Loretta to thank for inventing the Mandrake.

by Anonymousreply 30August 21, 2022 1:36 PM

[quote][R24], if we’ve arrived at Buffy, there is only one option.

I know I'm in the minority, but I always liked Dawn. She was supposed to be an annoying little sister, but Michelle Trachtenberg made her annoying and someone you felt sorry for at the same time. I thought season. 5 was definitely one of the strongest and they did a good job of making us understand why Buffy would die to protect Dawn. and she was less annoying and funnier in subsequent seasons.

But Xander. I could have done without Xander.

by Anonymousreply 31August 21, 2022 1:40 PM

Thank you to everyone who didn’t just list a name but also added their rationale.

by Anonymousreply 32August 21, 2022 1:44 PM

Little House on the Prairie - the little house.

It would have been a much better show if they all lived in a tent. And somewhat closer to the reality.

by Anonymousreply 33August 21, 2022 1:47 PM

Darrin #2, Bewitched. Dick Sargent was not a good replacement for Dick York. Seems that Darrin #2 was not as much fun as #1 or perhaps it was how is role was written. Either way, Sam would have been able to carry the show once Darrin #1 departed. Perhaps Edora turned Darrin into an ashtray and couldn't change him back.

by Anonymousreply 34August 21, 2022 1:52 PM

Tara on True Blood. That actress was so terrible, just plain bad.

by Anonymousreply 35August 21, 2022 1:54 PM

I would kick Alexis Bledel off "Gilmore Girls" and replace her (as Rory) with someone less wooden and less one-note. While I really enjoyed the series, Bledel was consistently out-acted by all her co-stars, and (to me) never felt authentic or natural in the role.

I suppose this is more "recast a character on your favorite TV series," which could make for another fun thread.

by Anonymousreply 36August 21, 2022 1:55 PM

As a child, I didn't even register that two different actors played Darren. I guess I was only watching for the magic and Endora and the wacky aunts and uncles. As an adult, I can't believe how much Darren number two ruined the show. He was so sour and cold, always chastising Sam. It made it seem as if he became more controlling toward her as the marriage went on, whereas Dick York's character seemed weirdly authoritarian at times but it didn't matter because he was so smitten with Samantha and the power balance very clearly was tipped toward her and not him. So it seemed like he was desperately trying to assert himself because he had no power, whereas his replacement...I got bad vibes about their family life after the cameras are off!

by Anonymousreply 37August 21, 2022 1:58 PM

Pippa from The Facts of Life

by Anonymousreply 38August 21, 2022 2:07 PM

Amy Jo Johnson on Felicity. Maybe if I watched it today I wouldn’t mind her. At the time I didn’t like all the acoustic music inserted into the plots.

by Anonymousreply 39August 21, 2022 2:14 PM

"Sheldon - from Young Sheldon and Big Bang Theory" ??? WTF? Jim Parsons was the best part of TBBT And the most accomplished actor. Although I'd give the guy who played Howard props for talent.

by Anonymousreply 40August 21, 2022 2:14 PM

Anyone before Tim Daly - Wings

by Anonymousreply 41August 21, 2022 2:21 PM

Mrs Beasley from Family Affair

by Anonymousreply 42August 21, 2022 2:38 PM

Batgirl from the 60s Batman tv series. I don't want to watch a girl in purple, I want to see men in tights!

by Anonymousreply 43August 21, 2022 2:43 PM

Jon Seda as Falsone on Homicide: Life on the Street. I curse the NBC suit who made Tom Fontana add that asshole.

by Anonymousreply 44August 21, 2022 2:47 PM

Grandpa Simpson owns this thread.

by Anonymousreply 45August 21, 2022 2:50 PM

R31 I weirdly came to like Dawn, too. Trachtenberg nailed it.

by Anonymousreply 46August 21, 2022 2:57 PM

So the question itself is a bit ambiguous. It says a cast member not a character. So for instance Debra Messing. I thought she had moments where she was really good. To compare her to Lucille Ball is ridiculous. But I think this is an actress who clearly landed on 3rd base when she thought she hit a home run. I actually think she’s the weak link in the show. Another example is Caroline in the City and Lea Thompson. I’ve been watching it on Paramount. It’s actually really funny. I had no idea. But Lea Thompson is clearly very sweet but out of her league. She is not a comedic actress. A much stronger actress would have made the show better.

by Anonymousreply 47August 21, 2022 3:07 PM

I'll offer the easy one -- kids edition:

Cousin Oliver on Brady Bunch, Stephanie on All in the Family, Quinn Cummings on Family. Cringe.

Also, the kid on 2 1/2 men was awful.

by Anonymousreply 48August 21, 2022 3:20 PM

Knots Landing: Mack MacKenzie. Just leave Karen a fucking a widow.

The Facts of Life: Tootie.

Little House on the Prairie: Cassandra. Her face gives me nightmares. She's grotesque.

Roseanne: DJ. He added so very little.

Happy Days: JOANIE. JOANIE. JOANIE.

Laverne and Shirley: Frank De Fazio.

Fresh Off the Boat: Emory. Simpering little fuck. The youngest kid was funnier as time went on.

One Day at a Time: Barbara. The Ed McMahon of the Romanoverse.

by Anonymousreply 49August 21, 2022 3:38 PM

Cousin Rose and her two obnoxious grandkids who replaced Olivia Walton on The Waltons. The series had been circling the drain for some time but big Rose and her annoying whiny voice, with the two redundant children hastened it's demise. It made no sense to bring them on anyway because there was enough adult Walton kids around to take care of the house and their younger siblings.

by Anonymousreply 50August 21, 2022 3:51 PM

Robert California on The Office. I love James Spader, but the character was out of place within The Office series.

by Anonymousreply 51August 21, 2022 3:57 PM

R50 Rose was fine and I liked her romance with Patty Duke's dad, but I didn't care for the kids.

by Anonymousreply 52August 21, 2022 4:04 PM

Jane Leeves/Daphne on Frasier. Underwritten from the start, and a mostly monotonously acted one-note performance. Plus there was absolutely zero chemistry between her and Niles, no matter how much the writers tried to force it. My headcanon was always that the Niles/Daphne romance was a result of Niles, under his father's watchful eye, retreating deeper and deeper into the closet, and Daphne was just a means to that end.

I love David Hyde Pierce, but he just couldn't act his way out of this dumb plot twist. It's entirely the showrunner's fault for moving from the droll Niles/Maris relationship to the boring, hackneyed will-they-or-won't-they schtick.

by Anonymousreply 53August 21, 2022 4:18 PM

Gleek, the Wonder Twin’s sidekick monkey from the Super Friends. There’s no purpose for Gleek since Jana can transform into any animal by saying ‘Wonder Twins Powers Activate!’

by Anonymousreply 54August 21, 2022 5:01 PM

Bye, Tori!

by Anonymousreply 55August 21, 2022 5:02 PM

David Groh on "Rhoda". I always skip the Joe seasons & later episodes where he returns to guest star.

by Anonymousreply 56August 21, 2022 5:15 PM

Kick off JimBob from The Waltons. Get rid of Alice from Brady Bunch. Carol would have had a bigger role. Get rid of Howard from The Bob Newhart Show. Kick out Laura from Little House. That squeaky voice was the worst part of the show. Mary should have been the main heroine. It would have also opened up more acting opportunities for Lindsay Sidney Greenbush.

by Anonymousreply 57August 21, 2022 5:26 PM

I'd like to drop kick Megan Draper and her ginormous teeth out of Mad Men.

by Anonymousreply 58August 21, 2022 8:04 PM

Mrs. Trumbull from I Love Lucy. A scene stealing whore!

by Anonymousreply 59August 21, 2022 8:11 PM

[quote] Three's Company: Larry

Haha no way! One of the main reasons I prefer the later seasons - Jack/Larry/Furley made the show.

I vote 60 yo Andrea Zuckerman.

by Anonymousreply 60August 21, 2022 8:24 PM

The TJ Miller character on "Silicon Valley" — and the show got better after he did leave.

by Anonymousreply 61August 21, 2022 8:28 PM

From R48-R61 you got it wrong. Cast member not character

by Anonymousreply 62August 21, 2022 11:26 PM

This will be controversial, but I'm going to say Jonathan Frid from Dark Shadows. The show lost something when Barnabas came along and never got it back. All these characters I invested in so much before his arrival basically became set pieces.

by Anonymousreply 63August 21, 2022 11:47 PM

Knots Landing really didn't need Bobby Jacoby OR Brian Austin Greene because the Brian Cunningham character was entirely inconsequential. Tonya Crowe sucked up all the air in the room.

Falcon Crest: Lorenzo Lamas. Seriously.

by Anonymousreply 64August 22, 2022 12:02 AM

Dallas: Linda Gray.

by Anonymousreply 65August 22, 2022 12:03 AM

GH: Bye bye Maurice & Laura. Regurgitate the real show before we dump your asses into a volcano.

by Anonymousreply 66August 22, 2022 12:24 AM

I would kick Mac off It's Always Sunny. The character has run its course. Dennis, Dee and Frank are the pillars that hold up the show.

by Anonymousreply 67August 22, 2022 12:41 AM

R65 No Linda Grey is one of the reasons the last season sucked so much.

by Anonymousreply 68August 22, 2022 12:50 AM

The Mary Tyler Moore Show...

The boot: Georgette

by Anonymousreply 69August 22, 2022 12:52 AM

Gimme a Break: the actor who played Grampa Kanisky. Dead fucking weight and yet they kept him to the end.

Mama's Family: Ken Berry. Vinton was a one-joke loser.

Little House: Lindsay Sidney Greenbush. Why did they bother? Just kill Carrie off like they did Rhoda on Hogan Family. "Well, it's been six months since Carrie got eaten by wolves during the Hero Township Easter egg hunt."

by Anonymousreply 70August 22, 2022 12:54 AM

Kristen Schaal from What We Do In The Shadows.

by Anonymousreply 71August 22, 2022 12:57 AM

Debra Messing, mugging and chewing on the scenery on Will & Grace after the first couple of seasons.

by Anonymousreply 72August 22, 2022 1:03 AM

[quote]Mrs. Trumbull from I Love Lucy. A scene stealing whore!

Not to mention that she fucked every powerful man on the show...she was just a plain OLD whore!

R72 First couple of minutes is more like it....

by Anonymousreply 74August 22, 2022 1:07 AM

Robin's daughter Delilah on The Equalizer. Such a horrible, snoopy, untrusting little cunt. Robin should have shot her in the head when she found the gun room, and saved us from having to listen to her teenaged assholery. Bye, Dee, bang bang.

by Anonymousreply 75August 22, 2022 1:12 AM

Daytime, it was Maura West, who ruined As the World Turns. Ruined!

by Anonymousreply 76August 22, 2022 1:13 AM

R76 She has been one of the best additions to GH, in YEARS!

by Anonymousreply 77August 22, 2022 1:23 AM

r77 If only they had come for her sooner, like 1995, and left us with existing bad girl Susan Marie Snyder, aka Julie Wendall, aka Little Miss Seattle.

by Anonymousreply 78August 22, 2022 1:33 AM

Yeah, Larry on 3's Company was a good character.

Grandpa Simpson (someone mentioned him) is also a very good character. Frankly, Lisa and Marge are the boring characters.

Linda Grey was awesome. She's a DL icon. Tall, thin, half-drunk yet well-groomed. It was the '80s and you know she had some high-quality coke in her bag, as well.

Priscilla Barnes, Three's Company.

Howie Mandel, St. Elsewhere.

Olivia D'Abo, The Wonder Years.

Marie Schrader on "Breaking Bad".

by Anonymousreply 86August 22, 2022 4:18 AM

Carol and Philip from "Maude." I know they served a purpose by bringing a younger perspective, but the show would have been fine without them.

by Anonymousreply 87August 22, 2022 4:21 AM

I bet if you rewatched Partridge Family, you'd realize that Reuben and Danny were holding that stupid show together. Those two were the funniest.

by Anonymousreply 89August 22, 2022 4:42 AM

[quote] Newman on Seinfeld, not funny

It wasn't the actor's (Newman's) fault. It was poorly written. Like Booker on Good Times. You can never figure out what's so reprehensible about Newman and Bookman. The writers just need to create villains, but there's no good back story. Of course, they have use fat people.

by Anonymousreply 90August 22, 2022 4:44 AM

7 Of Crime on STV.

If it's not broke don't fix it.

I viewed the ratings after Kes left in The Gift & she didn't bring them up at all. Just a lot of media talk in the US.

TPTB were scared to have 7 & Tuvok in scenes together & they were right. She is Vulcan #2 on the show = a super strong, smart egomaniac seething underneath it all. TPTB were even concerned that the 2 characters spoke in the same manner.

Naomi W.'s mom was written off so 7 could be her NuMommy & have viewers be drawn to her. They even said Samantha didn't appear in Neelix's goodbye episode because they "forgot" about her. How nice.

I agree with the other cast members that show became Star Trek Borg after her arrival & I was bored with most of her Borg plots.

Borg nanoprobes to the rescue. Seven did EVERYTHING on the ship while the crew remained in status for an episode. The Doc was still around to monitor her vitals. Ho hum. If 1 person could run the entire ship it made several episodes where the crew was "vital" a joke.

I think her catsuit won't age well as time marches on & I laughed when they tried the same stunt for the Vulcan on the prequel show but she couldn't save such a dull premise. They should've put 7 in a regular uniform after the first year. It was also dumb to let 7 wear her hair up while telling Kate that it aged her (about a dozen years between them). So it adds a decade or 2 to a 42 year old Kate but not to 7? Yeah right.

Jimmy from Yellowstone. He’s the doofus comedy relief who somehow manages to get barrel racer girlfriends way out of his league. He perpetuates the tired trope written to appeal to their incel and conservative viewership. He’s also essentially a bound and branded indentured servant owned by the Duttons.

by Anonymousreply 97August 22, 2022 8:30 AM

They really should have replaced Cybill Shepherd on Moonlighting as soon as it was clear she and Willis didn't get along, because HE was the drawcard; and certainly later, when she got pregnant at a key moment which ruined the subsequent plotline.

Larry Manetti (Rick) on the original Magnum P.I. series. The actor was annoying and his character added nothing to the show. Tom Selleck had enough charisma to carry the show on his own with a little help from the always entertaining John Hillerman as Higgins and Roger E. Mosely as TC. Larry Manetti/Rick never really fit in.

by Anonymousreply 102August 22, 2022 10:37 AM

Knots Landing - Paige and Greg became really overexposed around season 10. They became the two main characters and it was too much.

Gilmore Girls- Kirk owns this thread. The Palladinos were clearly self-enamored with this creation of theirs. He was insufferable.

Jodie Shittaker. She didn't even TRY. Colin Baker was wrong for the part and Matt Smith can't act, but at least they made an effort and remembered their damn lines. Shittaker's seasons were made shorter because she was too stupid or lazy (or both) to learn her part. She even had the nerve to complain that there were too many lines. No worries you stupid twat, no one else will have you as a lead again. Enjoy hawking your autograph to ugly nerds in a cheap hotel for the next 40 years.

I think Sam the butcher (Brady Bunch) was a good character, good actor. Although, as we now know, Alice was a lesbian.

by Anonymousreply 113August 22, 2022 6:07 PM

While it's not my favorite show by a long shot, New Amsterdam would be so much better without Dr. Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery), whose American accent waffles and whose storylines -- drug addiction! rehab! injury! relapse! suddenly lesbian! lesbian break-up! -- have all rung completely false.

By contrast, her main co-star -- Shiva Kalaiselvan, who plays her gf/ex-gf/gf-again Leyla -- is great, and would have made a much better series regular.

by Anonymousreply 114August 22, 2022 6:08 PM

The youngest Brady son. Did he really do anything or was he just the balancing act for three girls three boys?

Bubble, I liked that character as well. A useless assistant for a nebulous business.

Ted Knight on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." He always seemed to have wandered in from a different, less funny sitcom, because he played everything on a less realistic level than the rest of the cast. No finesse, just clobbering every joke with a sledgehammer.

[quote]Yvonne Craig on Batman. She ruined the show.

Obviously, I am not the audience she was brought on for, but I caught some episodes recently for the first time in a while. She gave off kind of a smug vibe and which carried over to Batman in their scenes together. The nature of the show was such it probably would have run out of steam anyway, but she really did alter the feel of the show from fun to a bit overbearing.

I would say the thing that should have been kicked off Caroline in the City was the attempt of a romantic relationship between her and Richard. While she was probably the weakest actor, she was likable and would have been fine as the normal girl that grounds the show with the crazies around her. The show could be funny, but would come to a crashing halt when they would focus on their "romance".

"Favorite" is a stretch for some of these but they came to mind:

Supernatural- Castiel and the whole angel/God crew: bringing heaven into it ruined the whole show. The horror aspect, the fun blue collar personality = gone.

Taxi- Bobby: he was fine but I always found him superfluous when they had Tony Danza filling the young, dumb kid role.

Game of Thrones- Daenarys Targaryen: take her and her 90s syndicated TV fantasy storyline out, and the show could have focused on Westeros and been finished nicely in 6 seasons, tops. You miss dragons? Fine, give Jon a dragon egg to hatch in later seasons. It can die fighting The Others or something.

House M.D.- Chase: brought nothing to the show, ever.

Buffy- Xander and, in later seasons, Willow: Xander was an unfunny dick and Willow became an egomaniac. Both were pretty shitty friends to Buffy by the end.

Angel- Gunn: in a perfect world, Doyle's actor wouldn't have died and Gunn the Wet Blanket wouldn't be needed to fill out the cast.

True Blood: Sookie Stackhouse: when she wasn't being annoying, she was just bland. Get rid of her and just center the show on the vampires trying make being known by humans work in a small Louisiana town.

[quote] Georgette on MTM? Although to be fair, some of Maury's home episodes were just as bad.

“Murray” should have been re-cast from day one. Gavin McLeod managed to be both hammy and bland in the role.

The film Broadcast News, which in many ways was James L. Brooks retelling of MTM, showed everything the character of Murray could have been…as played so delightfully by Albert Brooks.

by Anonymousreply 171August 24, 2022 1:48 PM

He may have been necessary because the Angels kept changing. Seems like they had a new Angel every season. So, Bosley was the constant (in addition to the voice of Charlie).

In the alternative, they could have made Kelly the boss of the Angels because I think she was on every season.

R200 Most of the shows are mentioned are actually from the 60s, 70s and 80s. There was a thing called reruns and though I wasn't born in the 1950s I am aware of some of the shows of the 50s such as The Honeymooners and I Love Lucy that were played daily on TV back in the day and of course so much old TV is available on cable and online. And perhaps like me, many DLers haven't watched sitcoms in decades. I was in my 20s and 30s in the 80s and 90s and was out at clubs, parties, restaurants, movies, plays, at work of course . . . and now with streaming commercial TV is a stranger to me.
