It's awful, but all the LGBT kids who avoided this school have been done a favor. It's the ones who don't know, are in denial, or otherwise "dealing with it" on some level without fulling accepting it who already attend the school who I'm worried about. The LGBT kids who missed out on this shit school will be fine.

Why are people on this thread pretending American religious conservatives ever liked gays? In red areas where they're the majority, they were forced to accept gay marriage by federal law which they find that a violation of "state rights." The South is very reactionary and has pushback on what they felt is "liberal Northern agenda." Florida is filled with many conservatives who align with that mentality of "fuck off feds." Posters on here cannot be American.

The courts have ruled over and over that religious groups are allowed to discriminate because of religious freedom. And, as much as I disagree with their interpretation of our shared faith, I believe in religious freedom enough that I support them being able to be pricks who are probably leading souls to hell.

It isn't like this should come as a shock to anyone, by this point. If you are LGBT+, etc... don't teach at or attend a religious school, expect maybe an Episcopal Day School or this will happen. And, if they kick you out be glad because now you can go to a real school.
