She's no more fake than any white woman from the Deep South. They're trained from infancy to smile all the time and talk sweet even if they don't mean what they say. Only straight hausfraus bought her saccharine act though. Most comedians and most Hollywood people are assholes. You have to be a narcissist to survive long in that environment which would drive normal people crazy.

Ellen's issue in the early days... she was a mean drunk and it didn't take her long to get there. Yet she also had this squeaky clean public image even when she was doing standup. The sitcom... stories were mixed there but her true colours began to show with the coming out episode. . . and came to a head with the cancellation. The years after is where tyrant Ellen came into play. her brief period with Anne, they brought out the worst in each other and fueled each others' addictions. And her return to television ws fueled by support of hollywood hypocrites and assholes. . . like how Jay Leno still supported her even after the last scandal of worker abuse. Unsurprisingly, because he's long been accused of passive aggressive terror games with employees and a few celebs.

Know someone who worked for her.

She is cruel, demeaning and a terror. All while preaching kindness and spouting a fake character.

(Remember the glee she takes in scaring or startling guests? Or on the game show when people were challenged? She demonstrated a bizarre happiness and excitedness that stood in contrast to the contestants’ difficulties.)

The signs for sociopathy in Ellen are there if you are perceptive.

I don't know if she "deserves" the hate, but she seems to lack perspective. Most people who reach her level of power do. I guess you lose it on the way up (or maybe never had it to begin with).

It is simple human nature for the vast majority of people to try and put on their best show when they know they're being filmed. Depending on each person's situation that has to turn a lot of people very sour and untrusting.

If we cast out every celebrity who acted differently when they are being filmed, whether it be for a movie or TV role or in their real lives, we'd have few to none left.
