When Candace was asked if there would be diverse content on GAC. Candace responded by saying that those decisions aren't completely up to her.

I believe Danica recently said something about GAC was feeling more like the old Hallmark than the Hallmark channel currently was.

As a Wonder Years fan I've followed Danica on and off for years. She's always seemed super sweet, if maybe a bit neurotic. But over the past few months I've noticed some changes: ever since she left Hallmark, she's been posting about CCB bringing her to church and how she's a newfound believer, and now she just up and moved her whole family to Tennessee from LA seemingly out of the blue. All the while standing by and saying nothing after all of this controversy. I remember Candace giving this batshit crazy sermon about how Kirk converted her by making her read the "Left Behind" series, and it makes me wonder of Candace didn't try a similar tactic with Danica. :(

They obviously had to buy the "talent" they got from Hallmark. While they would naturally have lower viewership during the initial couple seasons of shows, I wonder how long they can last.

Hallmark doesn't pay a lot, even for the marquee names making movies for them. Estimates for Candace Bure only run about $40K on the high end per movie at Hallmark.

GAF films some of the movies in Canada or American states that offer tax breaks. But, yeah I wonder how deep their pockets are.

I have always wondered how much actors made many years ago during the periods when the broadcast networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX made TV movies.

A lot of the movies aren't produced in-house. The cast may be signing on and then the movie is getting picked up by GAC.

Hallmark makes all of their movies now, but up until a few years ago, they only directly produced Hallmark Hall Of Fame.

I suspect it’s about money. That’s usually what drives these types of decisions.

The problem is, in the long run, the demographic for the traditional wholesome values (white, Christian, straight, vanilla) is dying off. Hallmark realized that and "generously" includes Gays and Lesbians in their programming to attract new viewers and remain the go-to channel for that kind of wholesome entertainment for a little while longer. GAC is fighting a losing battle by pandering to a shrinking group of bigots and will not be able to compete with Hallmark in any way. It will end up a money pit for all investors involved and not accomplish anything.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (9 movies): 914,100 viewers (down from 1,132,000 in 2022)

Lifetime (26 movies): 454,800 viewers (average on 25 movies as 1 didn't make the top 100 of the day) (down from 677,000 in 2022)

GAC (16 movies): 305,500 viewers (average on 12 movies, as the other 4 didn't make the top 100 of the day)

I'm surprised Lifetime did that poorly. Judge me for this if you wish, but I really enjoyed their movie last year with Fran Drescher setting up her son with the town hunk.

Since some of the Hallmark movies stream on Peacock briefly, I also watched Jonathan Bennett's one from this year. It hit all the usual tropes, but was charming.
