We had ducks at our country cottage in England - us kiddies called them names and would feed them bread out of the window.. They'd jump up. But the fox kept getting them, so we gave up on that. They kept having to be replaced. Finally we found a local breed that seemed to survive much longer.

I never wanted to touch them.

The last year we were there, wild ducks came and had their ducklings and raised them in our garden and on our stream.
