Tom Selleck’s screen test for Indiana Jones and Sean Young as Marion!

I would prefer Selleck, what a pity!

Nah.

Selleck has always been a one-dimensional actor. That's why his movie career never took off.

by Anonymousreply 2August 12, 2022 8:36 AM

R2 but this role fit him perfectly, and it didn't need a multiple dimensional acting

by Anonymousreply 3August 12, 2022 8:39 AM

Unfortunately for him, Harrison Ford has it all over him in screen charm.

by Anonymousreply 4August 12, 2022 8:44 AM

Ford also hadn't issued $20 million libel suits to shut talk about his sexuality.

That tends to chill a studio.

Tom would have pulled this off excellently. His style and humor would have fit perfectly.

Look to the others who were suggested for a terrible film

Ford has a deeper voice, sounds like a movie hero when he does angry. Selleck sounds like an outraged WeHo queen when he does angry.

An actor I know who'd worked with him only talks about what the crew talked about. Which can't be talked about.

by Anonymousreply 8August 12, 2022 9:13 AM

Someone made a deep fake clip with Selleck as Jones

Nah, Every time I hear Selleck's voice I keep expecting Higgins to pull up in a Ferrari 🙄

by Anonymousreply 10August 12, 2022 9:55 AM

Selleck did Jones-like roles in High Road to China, Lassiter, and Quigley Down Under and those movies didn't exactly set the world on fire.

Ford was the right choice.

R5 Has Ford played any gay roles?

I think Sean Young would have made a great Marion. Interesting that she would actually team up with Ford the following year in Blade Runner.

by Anonymousreply 13October 17, 2022 3:03 AM

Ford and Allen were perfect, thank goodness they won out.

by Anonymousreply 14October 17, 2022 3:13 AM

Harrison Ford is one of the most charismatic man in human history. He is a talented actor and hot as fuck.

by Anonymousreply 15October 17, 2022 3:18 AM

I think Ford is very underrated as an actor. He's given some great dramatic performances: Witness, The Mosquito Coast, Frantic, Presumed Innocent, and The Age of Adaline.

He is very charismatic as both Han Solo and Indiana Jones and he makes it look easy.

by Anonymousreply 16October 17, 2022 3:20 AM

Selleck over Harrison Ford is blasphemy.

by Anonymousreply 17October 17, 2022 3:26 AM

Selleck can do humor better than Ford, but that's about it.

I keep thinking if a reverse mortgage is right for me when I'm older.

I'm sorry, but Tom Selleck is not a better Indiana Jones than Harrison Ford. No one is.

by Anonymousreply 20March 28, 2023 5:58 PM

r19 thanks for the chuckle lol

by Anonymousreply 21March 28, 2023 6:09 PM

R18- Which is quite impressive seeing as he is devoid of humor irl.
