He wants classified documents released? He and the public are not allowed access to them.

Garland called Trump’s bluff, and now Trump is trying to save face.

IF Trump declassified the documents in his possession while he was able to do so (as POTUS), he’s fine. However, if the documents are still determined to be classified, he’s royally fucked.

Also, as a private citizen he’s no longer able to determine what information can and can’t be released if there are national security implications. Cleaning the egg off his face isn’t a valid excuse either 🤣

Biden will reclassify any declassified documents, if he hasn't already. If Trump still has possession of copies of reclassified documents, he will be guilty of a felony.

Trump himself could’ve released a copy of the warrant, and he hasn’t. DOJ then says they’ll release the documents, but they concede they can’t unilaterally do so because Trump can object.

How is this going to help Trump? What helped him is the relevant committees in Congress being blindsided and DOJ withholding details. However, as everything goes with all things related to Trump, the more facts that come out the worse things look for him.

The faux hand-wringing by people claiming this will help him is hilarious.

@r21, The DOJ is not playing anything. Release of the warrant was Trump's call. He has now ok'd it, but for some reason didn't release his copy. The DOJ said they'd release their copy at 3:00PM

It NEVER releases warrants. This warrant is based on a subpoena that was ignored. The DOJ took the extraordinary step of agreeing to unseal the warrant only after a (corrupt, treasonous) Former President impugned the integrity of the entire system of federal law enforcement. Inciting one of his lunatic followers to attack a FBI facility.

There is nothing "precious" about what the DOJ is doing, it is merely unprecedented.
