I'm in Sitges on Vacation
by Anonymous | reply 95 | August 19, 2022 9:14 PM |
Which beach is your favorite?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 11, 2022 10:44 AM |
Are you wearing speedos or a French 'slip'?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 11, 2022 10:51 AM |
R1, Platja de la Ribera, towards the old town. More relaxed and less whorish/poser than the gay beach nearby.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 11, 2022 10:56 AM |
R2, neither, but I am wearing trunks. Spotted two eldergays in caftan type ensembles the first night her, yes they were American.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 11, 2022 10:57 AM |
I don’t get the appeal. Sitges is an okayish beach town, but there are far better places on the Mediterranean.
Is it just because it’s GAY?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 11, 2022 11:27 AM |
It's gay friendly R5. With a broad range of nice restaurants, less crowded than Barcelona.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 11, 2022 11:35 AM |
How's the coke?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 11, 2022 11:37 AM |
¿Donde esta la clinica de ETS por favor?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 11, 2022 12:03 PM |
How’s the Monkeypox situation there?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 11, 2022 12:23 PM |
R9, no evidence of infected guys but am keeping well clear of dark rooms and apps.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 11, 2022 12:32 PM |
R9 Why the hell are you there, then??
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 11, 2022 3:10 PM |
How do you pronounce 'Sitges'?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 11, 2022 3:14 PM |
How do you get to Sitges from Barcelona, and are there less expensive places to stay in the area?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 11, 2022 3:16 PM |
Is it crowded?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 11, 2022 3:19 PM |
I've been all over the world at least twice, yet had never heard of Sitges. Thanx OP for the heads up.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 11, 2022 3:23 PM |
R15 You’re a nun, right?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 11, 2022 3:27 PM |
Approximately "sid-Jess", R12
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 11, 2022 3:28 PM |
And better to say it this way, R8:
"On és la clínica d'ETS, si us plau?"
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 11, 2022 3:48 PM |
R19 En catala, es clar
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 11, 2022 3:50 PM |
How do you get to Sitges from Barcelona, and are there less expensive places to stay in the area?
40 minutes by bus or train, and both about €7.
Less expensive than what? You can book a hotel room in Barcelona midweek next week for €50 to starting at €1000 and if course it can be cheaper if you're 15km beyond the center.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 11, 2022 4:19 PM |
R11 for the sun n' drugs. ;)
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 11, 2022 4:32 PM |
R13 frequent trains taking approx 40 mins. A direct bus service from the airport also caters. Haven't stayed in any of the surrounding towns so can't comment on their affordability. Book early for hotels and apartments is my advice.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 11, 2022 4:34 PM |
R14, absolutely. Busiest visit yet.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 11, 2022 4:34 PM |
R17, no but I can show restraint in a location like Sitges and can decide not to fuck everything that moves. Plus am partnered and monogamous.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 11, 2022 4:38 PM |
Was invited by a friend to join him there next month. Sitges Bears Week 2022 takes place from September 2nd to 11th. I met him in Warsaw a few years ago and we've been trying to meet up since then. Oh well, maybe next year....
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 11, 2022 4:38 PM |
Does it really smell like sewage?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 11, 2022 4:44 PM |
R27, no. Where did you see/read/hear that?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 11, 2022 4:49 PM |
R27, no. Where did you see/read/hear that?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 11, 2022 4:49 PM |
R26. Bear Week is the last hurrah for the season in Sitges and costs do remain high for accommodation then.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 11, 2022 4:50 PM |
Very jealous!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 11, 2022 4:51 PM |
OP here R31, I'm not a gloater so would very say 'jealous bitches'. If anyone does ever have the opportunity to visit Barcelona then set aside a day for Sitges.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 11, 2022 4:54 PM |
Would never say ^^^^
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 11, 2022 4:54 PM |
have you taken the longer walk along the coast and then back into the cruising areas? Best cruising area I've ever been to. Of course that was back in the 90's when I was there. Very active and fun, shall we say.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 11, 2022 4:59 PM |
It's a bit of a schlep R34 but apparently still going. Police presence this summer along the main seafront at night is very evident.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 11, 2022 5:02 PM |
Still no word about the quality of the blow, which I hear is everywhere in Sitges.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 11, 2022 5:03 PM |
Approximately "sid-Jess", [R12]
So the 'g' isn't pronounced like the normal Spanish 'g', as in "gente" (HEN-tay) or "angel" (AHN-hell)?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 11, 2022 6:12 PM |
How many smashed Brits?
Any obnoxious Catalan behavior?
On a scale of 10 to 10, 10 being the highest, how may gays clearly don't care about the Covid or the Monkeypox?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 11, 2022 6:18 PM |
I don’t get the appeal. Sitges is an okayish beach town, but there are far better places on the Mediterranean.
Flew down to Cannes to get a tan, then simply ran to dear Portofino!
Saint-Tropez just turned me grey, 'cause night and day I lived on just [italic]vino![/italic]
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 11, 2022 6:30 PM |
Have a Campari Spritz at Parrots.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 11, 2022 7:18 PM |
Thanks for the info OP! The husband and I will be there in a couple of weeks for Bear Week and can't wait.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 11, 2022 11:09 PM |
Beware of the train line between Barcelona and Sitges. Full of pickpockets!
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 11, 2022 11:34 PM |
Especially Barcelona Sants station R42. We almost had a backpack stolen from us there a couple of years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 11, 2022 11:42 PM |
You had a backpack in your pocket?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 11, 2022 11:45 PM |
It was a very large pocket. 😉
No, it's just a cautionary tail about being aware of your wallet AND your belongings when traveling. The same with the dark rooms. An acquaintance had his cell phone stolen in a Sitges dark room while getting a blowie.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 11, 2022 11:49 PM |
Practice your twirl for the catwalk!
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 11, 2022 11:54 PM |
R45 did the guy who gave him a blowie steal his phone?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | August 12, 2022 12:07 AM |
Amateurs!!!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 12, 2022 12:15 AM |
Sorry, R28. It wasn’t Sitges that smells but the Olympic Village.
Enjoy your vacation and be safe!
by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 12, 2022 8:28 AM |
Honey OP, you can get Monkeypox from a hookup in your hotel. No backroom or beach cruising required. Spain has had about 10K vaccines to give to date, nationally. There are 10K horny gay tourists from all over the world guzzling cock and buggering holes in Sitges every DAY.
Why on earth would you go to Sitges during this epidemic? The mind boggles.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 12, 2022 9:11 AM |
R45 Slut, if you’re so stupid as to go to XXL with your Amex then you deserve to be mopped by a gypsy hooker, tramp.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 12, 2022 9:49 AM |

In Spain, every day is Bear Week somewhere. If it's not Bear Sitges, it's Bear Carnival in Gran Canaria, or United Bears Barcelona, or MadBear in Torremolinos, or MadBear in Madrid, or MadBear in Valencia, or Guadalquibear in Seville, or Benidorm, or some bear thing by another name/s in each of those cities, or in other cities...
by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 12, 2022 9:53 AM |
I read that HIV- sluts on PREP, bears, Copts and Zoroastrians are immune to Monkeypox. HIV+ sluts get it automatically.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 12, 2022 10:36 AM |
OP here R50. Read my other comments, I'm not on the pull.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | August 12, 2022 11:13 AM |
Good questions R38, very few hammered Brits encountered. The obnoxious Catalans are prevalent at closing time and mostly straight teens/twenty somethings. 8/10. There seem to be more groups of friends or couples and fewer sole travellers than previous years.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | August 12, 2022 11:17 AM |
Is it all you ever wanted?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 12, 2022 11:19 AM |
Nope R55, that was Venice.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 12, 2022 11:26 AM |
A monkeypoxed waitron could leave the pox on your drinking glass or fork. As for hotels, I wouldn't trust the cleanliness of a room in a gay resort soldiering on during a plaque. Speaking of death in Venice.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | August 12, 2022 11:39 AM |
R58 wrapped in clingfilm and refusing to leave their home until 2030.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 12, 2022 11:47 AM |
Is it fun, OP?
Why are you on DL, while on vacation?
Are you alone, or are you there with a person or people you’re not particularly vibing with?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | August 12, 2022 11:59 AM |
How you say pepino? No touch the pepino in the market.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | August 12, 2022 12:03 PM |
R60. In between breaks from the beach and the bar, I'm on my hotel room balcony checking work emails and similar. Here with friends, all in a similar frame of mind. We've come before, know which bars to avoid and which to frequent. It's very much a people watching experience. All good harmless fun.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | August 12, 2022 2:11 PM |
Have you already contracted Monkeypox?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | August 12, 2022 2:17 PM |
Lovers in a dangerous time.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | August 12, 2022 2:38 PM |
And all the shit cabaret "stars" and third string musical theater trash from UK show up to "entertain"
by Anonymous | reply 65 | August 12, 2022 2:59 PM |
You could trot on down to Gibraltar and get monkeypox from an actual monkey! (Well, an ape, anyway.)
by Anonymous | reply 67 | August 12, 2022 3:15 PM |
Any thoughts on what's BCN like these days? Is the Eixample still abuzz with gaiety?
by Anonymous | reply 68 | August 12, 2022 5:00 PM |
How dare those “obnoxious Catalans” be obnoxious in their own country!
by Anonymous | reply 69 | August 12, 2022 5:18 PM |
Just like those obnoxious Trumptards. Being a citizen is a free ticket to ridiculousness!
by Anonymous | reply 70 | August 12, 2022 7:21 PM |
R65, they are ignored for the most part, entertaining to the eldergays only.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | August 12, 2022 10:27 PM |
R63 see all my previous posts.....
MONOGAMOUS
by Anonymous | reply 72 | August 12, 2022 10:32 PM |
My husband visited Sitges a few times before I met him. I just asked him how it's pronounced, and he says it's pronounced as if it were "SEAT-jess." Accent on the first syllables.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | August 13, 2022 4:12 AM |
A lot of sex happening, or are people keeping their distance for fear of monkeypox?
by Anonymous | reply 74 | August 13, 2022 4:25 AM |
R37, the "g" is pronounced differently because it's Catalan... not a huge deal though if you pronounce it like the g in gente
by Anonymous | reply 75 | August 13, 2022 4:45 AM |
Spain in August? Oh, hell no.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | August 13, 2022 4:45 AM |
OP I’ve never been to Sitges, (Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona - yes), but a friend wants a few of us to go there next September. What’s the age demographic like? You mentioned bars to avoid - any recommendations which ones to frequent? As far as accommodations go - what areas would you recommend - I think we’d be looking at renting a house hopefully near both beach and town.
Thanks OP and I hope you’re having a blast!!
by Anonymous | reply 77 | August 13, 2022 4:50 AM |
R74, lots of young straights hooking up- late teens, early 20s. Plenty of gays of all ages openly looking at Grindr while seated in bars, so I don't doubt they're not hooking up.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | August 14, 2022 10:19 AM |
R77 Vinyet would be the classier side of town. Large houses and villas to rent with their own pools, privacy and access to the beach. At the opposite end is Aiguadolç- the marina, again very sedate and chic. In between is typical Spanish fare and predominantly apartments. Depends how many of you are going and what size accommodation you require. Weather will still be good in September and prices should be slightly lower for renting. All the gay bars are centred around two or three central streets, you'll be able to tell from clientele which to avoid but generally speaking they attract all sorts. The best of the restaurants are all situated along the main promenade they call Passeig Maritim which runs along the seafront and is lovely for strolling. Enjoy!

Update on Sitges and it is with great relish that I can say the greatest whores here are the Americans! Overhead a table of around a dozen cackling fan flickers regale anyone within earshot about their slutting activities. One anecdote involved how much of a trek it was to find some notorious gay cruising spot near a forest. Another guy told of how he was with someone who pulled his cock out in the 'bodega' and then injected that cock with something which later required medical attention. All of this was presided over by the sleaziest eldergay imaginable. At least a generation older than his companions, he can only be a procurer or dealer. He was accompanied by three twinky young Asians one of whom he pawed and kissed before they disappeared off into the night. Memo to English spearers travelling abroad- you will be overhead and understood.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | August 15, 2022 10:04 AM |
R80, it certainly seems that you stumbled upon la creme de la creme of Sitges.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | August 15, 2022 11:01 AM |
OP, did you know that "sitjes" means the sunken silos used to store grain in ancient times?
That's my question.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | August 15, 2022 11:17 AM |
So Sitges means sunken holes.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | August 15, 2022 11:37 AM |
No R82, as that is a different word entirely in terms of spelling.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | August 16, 2022 6:27 AM |
A sauna in Sitges two days ago. Don't worry folks, nothing to see here.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | August 17, 2022 9:46 PM |
Been there. Loved it.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | August 17, 2022 10:16 PM |
Should add I was there with a hot guy. That also added to the pleasure.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | August 17, 2022 11:49 PM |
Just the one R87? ; )
by Anonymous | reply 88 | August 18, 2022 8:24 PM |
Seriously 1 guy in Whorearamama Sitges and nearby BCN is like going to the beach and sitting in the parking lot.
Life's a banquet!
Thank god I feasted before Covid and Monkeypox

Aren't they everywhere?
by Anonymous | reply 90 | August 18, 2022 9:37 PM |
Yes, No 1 in Monkeypox cases!
Thoae sexy swarthy lusty Spaniards are given then a run for their money!!!
Not sure why so many Brit cases? I guess whores aren't selective.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | August 18, 2022 9:39 PM |
You want to have another go at that maybe R89?
by Anonymous | reply 92 | August 18, 2022 10:58 PM |
Waiting for round 2 of my Monkeypox shot, yes. Have European travel in four weeks and counting....
Its been 3 years since I flavored European sizemeat on their turf. A long hard lockdown and subsequent "health emergency..."
by Anonymous | reply 93 | August 19, 2022 2:03 AM |
Gay group in Sitges complains to Catalan govt about lack of vaccines.
How 'bout you abstain from random hook ups for 5 minutes.....
by Anonymous | reply 94 | August 19, 2022 9:09 PM |
In fairness, governments really should be pushing for more monkeypox vaccines. A friend had it and had to take off work for three weeks. That's lost productivity right there for his employer. All over a cheap vaccine that takes 1 minute to administer.
Spain also has significant enough cases to warrant some government action. They're not asking for much.
