Beto still with the energy. "Not funny to me mother****er"

I'd thought he was done, after a lackluster, weak Presidential campaign. But he's getting close to Abbott in the polls, and just might have a chance.

He's kind of just gone for broke in the campaign, and it's working.

This clip, responding to an Abbott supporter who was laughing about Beto's description of the shooting in Uvalde....

How cool would it be if he could beat that creeper Abbott?

by Anonymousreply 5August 11, 2022 4:34 AM

[quote] Abbott supporter who was laughing

I couldn't quite hear the laugh.

But Beto was obviously hyped-up and passionate swivelling around back and forth performing in those tight black pants around his slender hips and thighs.

by Anonymousreply 6August 11, 2022 4:59 AM

Good for him! Hopefully he got a bj when he got home. He deserves it.

by Anonymousreply 7August 11, 2022 5:02 AM

THAT'S how Dems need to be. There is no point in giving these people an inch. Humiliate them at every turn. Stop with the high road crap. These people are so low, hell is above them, so there is no way we could even stoop to their level.

by Anonymousreply 8August 11, 2022 6:17 AM

Wow. Didnโ€™t know he had such a tight ass.

by Anonymousreply 9August 11, 2022 6:22 AM

by Anonymousreply 34August 11, 2022 2:40 PM

I agree r34. I do get what Michelle Obama meantโ€”I totally believe that there is no bottom to how low Republicans can go, and weโ€™ve seen it, especially in the Dump years. But we donโ€™t have to sit and take it, or respond back in kind by going lower. Beto had the perfect response.

by Anonymousreply 35August 11, 2022 2:48 PM

Him and Gavin Newsom on the same ticket would work. We need youth. Relatively speaking.

by Anonymousreply 36August 11, 2022 2:49 PM

I really like Joe Biden and believe heโ€™s doing an excellent job under the circumstances. But I also believe the job has to be incredibly taxing, and he may not run in 2024. If that happens, I bet he stays neutral (specifically not endorsing Kamala because he says he wants to be above politics).

by Anonymousreply 37August 11, 2022 3:00 PM

The photos from his town hall meetings look like they are packed with people. And the venues donโ€™t look like they are some classroom where theyโ€™ve packed in several dozen people to make it look crowded. Some of those locations are fairly rural and clearly Repuke country.

As a 5th-generation Texan, I hate to be Debbie Downer, but the only way Beto will win is if Abbot does something very, very stupid.

R81, I understand your reasoning. I do know quite a bit of Texans hate Abbot, but you donโ€™t think itโ€™s enough to unseat him? I think it might be this time because the screwups have been epic. But of course, Iโ€™m just looking at it from afar (NE part of the US).

by Anonymousreply 83August 20, 2022 2:52 PM

If that bitch Beyoncรฉ had endorsed Beto more than one day before Election Day, and campaigned for him, he likely could have pulled it off over Cruz. Given that the race is now competitive, he has a good chance for beating Abbott.

by Anonymousreply 84August 20, 2022 11:53 PM

Well it's kinda funny

"Gov. Abbott, who won a landslide 13-point race against Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez four years ago, has a 7-point lead with over six weeks until Election Day," said Siena College Research Institute Director Don Levy, per the Chronicle. Abbott is up 50-43 over O'Rourke, the poll indicated.

"Abbott has the support of 95 percent of Republicans, and O'Rourke has the support of 93 percent of Democrats, while independents tilt toward Abbott by one point," Levy continued.

The survey also suggested Texas voters may be more concerned about immigration than abortion, the marquee issue du jour. Roughly 31 percent of those surveyed cited immigration as their top concern ahead of the election, while just 22 percent mentioned abortion, per the Chronicle. Those numbers "evened out," however, when respondents were asked to rank their top two issues.

Otherwise, Texans are most concerned about the economy and inflation.

Lots of Beto and Mothers against Greg Abbott signs in my neighborhood.

by Anonymousreply 120September 30, 2022 2:22 AM

Iโ€™ve been pleasantly surprised with the huge crowds that Beto has been attracting on the college campuses this week. Now if they just get out and vote โ€” and each bring ten friends with them.

And, that POS Abbott canโ€™t even handle having an audience in the room during the debate?? What a sniveling, weak, little coward.

Beto is really coming across as passionate yet more in control than I've ever seen him.

Highly effective.

He is certainly attracting huge crowds on the college campuses. If they just get out and vote . . . . .

They went wild when he showed up at the Chicks concert in Houston tonight.

If he doesnโ€™t win itโ€™s not from a lack of trying. His campaign organized 700 events for just this weekend. It seems as if made an appearance at almost every college and high school in the Lone Star state this week. And the crowds were large and enthusiastic.

Hereโ€™s hoping.

[quote] The stateโ€™s successes are all the more reason we need a person of vision in the governorโ€™s office, someone who has the ability and the inclination to take our immense advantages and make them work for the public good, and at the same time, someone who actually wants to solve long-lingering problems, such as Texasโ€™ unfair tax burden on homeowners and the working class, and our failure to educate a skilled, homegrown workforce that Texas needs to thrive.

[quote] That vision wonโ€™t come from Greg Abbott.

by Anonymousreply 158November 9, 2022 6:46 AM

Texans really are lost if they'd take Abbott's incompetence over Beto. I guess they've forgotten the power failures, the pointless and expensive border checks, the stupid culture war stunts, and the teacher shortage. All under Abbott's 'illustrious' reign.

And poor Beto. This campaigning must be taking years off his life. I hope he decides to stop and take a rest. Will give the Democrats the chance to try someone new and really refine their messaging.

by Anonymousreply 159November 9, 2022 7:24 AM

FACT = Without Gerrymandering the Republicans wouldn't be elected dog catcher. It is theft in broad daylight just like the SCOTUS seats. Ohio Governor DeWine has a son on the Ohio Supreme Court who refused to step aside and rules in Daddys favor over the Gerrymandering map in Ohio. Until voters start talking about Gerrymandering and The Electoral College, nothing will improve.

R160. I hate gerrymandering as much as the next person but I don't think it applies to gubernatorial races?

I thought they were state-wide?

by Anonymousreply 161November 9, 2022 7:48 AM

R161 = Governor DeWine sat on the Ohio redistricting committee and helped create a gerrymandered election map that favored republicans. The committee was promptly sued. It went to the state Supreme Court where Justice DeWine (the son) refused to recuse himself.

by Anonymousreply 164November 9, 2022 11:52 AM

The senate and governorโ€™s races in Ohio cannot be effected by gerrymandering.

What a moron above.
