Beto still with the energy. "Not funny to me mother****er"
I'd thought he was done, after a lackluster, weak Presidential campaign. But he's getting close to Abbott in the polls, and just might have a chance.
He's kind of just gone for broke in the campaign, and it's working.
This clip, responding to an Abbott supporter who was laughing about Beto's description of the shooting in Uvalde....

Well it's kinda funny
"Gov. Abbott, who won a landslide 13-point race against Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez four years ago, has a 7-point lead with over six weeks until Election Day," said Siena College Research Institute Director Don Levy, per the Chronicle. Abbott is up 50-43 over O'Rourke, the poll indicated.
"Abbott has the support of 95 percent of Republicans, and O'Rourke has the support of 93 percent of Democrats, while independents tilt toward Abbott by one point," Levy continued.
The survey also suggested Texas voters may be more concerned about immigration than abortion, the marquee issue du jour. Roughly 31 percent of those surveyed cited immigration as their top concern ahead of the election, while just 22 percent mentioned abortion, per the Chronicle. Those numbers "evened out," however, when respondents were asked to rank their top two issues.
Otherwise, Texans are most concerned about the economy and inflation.

If he would get his buck teeth fixed, he might have a chance, but he thinks theyโre adorable.

These formerly closeted gays from the Panhandle (now married) previously voted for Repukes but now are voting for Beto.

I'm from Texas and this makes so much sense in the way it doesn't make sense.
To paraphrase Jon Stewart (I think) who said they *love* Texas like a child loves his mommy...because he doesn't know anything else.

It wasnโt for a lack of trying. He covered the state many times over. He seemed to be everywhere all at once. But, alas, not to be.

Texans really are lost if they'd take Abbott's incompetence over Beto. I guess they've forgotten the power failures, the pointless and expensive border checks, the stupid culture war stunts, and the teacher shortage. All under Abbott's 'illustrious' reign.
And poor Beto. This campaigning must be taking years off his life. I hope he decides to stop and take a rest. Will give the Democrats the chance to try someone new and really refine their messaging.

FACT = Without Gerrymandering the Republicans wouldn't be elected dog catcher. It is theft in broad daylight just like the SCOTUS seats. Ohio Governor DeWine has a son on the Ohio Supreme Court who refused to step aside and rules in Daddys favor over the Gerrymandering map in Ohio. Until voters start talking about Gerrymandering and The Electoral College, nothing will improve.

R160. I hate gerrymandering as much as the next person but I don't think it applies to gubernatorial races?
I thought they were state-wide?

R161 = Governor DeWine sat on the Ohio redistricting committee and helped create a gerrymandered election map that favored republicans. The committee was promptly sued. It went to the state Supreme Court where Justice DeWine (the son) refused to recuse himself.

Off topic, but the Ohio Supreme Court does have an awesome Art Deco building.

The senate and governorโs races in Ohio cannot be effected by gerrymandering.
What a moron above.
