She's been in the spotlight for 20 years now and never dated anyone, was never even linked with anyone. How is that possible? Is she asexual? Even asexual people date, right?
Eva Green, the actress
by Anonymous | reply 64 | September 27, 2022 10:13 PM |
She is (or was) linked to Tim Burton, which is rather gross to ponder.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 10, 2022 3:52 PM |
Yeah, but wasn't chat just a gossip when they worked together? They didn't really date
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 10, 2022 3:53 PM |
She dated Marton Csokas and also someone from The Dreamers, but I don't remember who.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 10, 2022 3:56 PM |
Burton was enough of a rumor that she denied it at least once. But she's also made it clear that she wants to keep her private life private, so you'd expect a denial even if true.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 10, 2022 3:58 PM |
OP, are you confusing Eva Gabor with Green acres?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 10, 2022 4:05 PM |
R5 No
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 10, 2022 4:29 PM |
She supports Johnny Depp, which is all I really need to know about her.
She was good in Casino Royale, though. She significantly elevated an underwritten role
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 10, 2022 4:30 PM |
Eva Green is one of perhaps 3 of the best actresses of her generation............a simply spectacular performer..........and I am unanimous in this......(Mrs. Slocum)
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 10, 2022 4:32 PM |
Best Bond girl EVAH. Incredible actress, always hypnotically watchable even in poor projects. Her performance in the first season of Penny Dreadful as the doomed heroine is an example of her ability to elevate material. I was astounded by the energy and force she brought to that character.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 10, 2022 4:39 PM |
I'd guess she just hasn't dated famous people or sought publicity with her dates e.g. taking them to awards ceremonies. I doubt she's asexual and she doesn't ping either.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 10, 2022 4:45 PM |
R7 am fascinated by that all of Depp's exes (Moss, Paradis, first wife, Ryder) have supported him as well as co-stars like Green yet you blindly believe Heard who has been exposed as a liar and someone with borderline personality disorder.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 10, 2022 4:48 PM |
R11 even if you totally disbelieve Heard, there is a mountain of evidence independent of her allegations that paints him as a massive piece of shit.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 10, 2022 4:55 PM |
R12 funny that a jury who heard all the evidence from both sides didn't find as such....

She’s fantastic. My favorite performance is her femme fatale in the second Sun City movie. She struts around nude for extended scenes, all confidence, sex, and danger. She’s amazing in it.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 10, 2022 4:57 PM |
Ms Green is beautiful and riveting onscreen.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 10, 2022 4:57 PM |
She is simply stunning in Cracks. My favorite film of hers.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 10, 2022 4:59 PM |
Literally never been bad in anything. Even in that godawful Dark Shadows movie she is electric. I didn't think the Burton thing was a rumor though, I thought that was confirmed? I also read she's extremely shy in real life and has panic attacks about doing press, which might explain why we don't see her much in between projects. It seems crazy to me that someone could be so different from their on-screen presence, because on-screen she reads as extremely confident. I ADORE HER.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 10, 2022 5:04 PM |
She's gorgeous. Or was. Which is strange because her perky mother Marlene Jobert looked like Shirley Maclaine. I loathe perky.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 10, 2022 5:04 PM |
I agree about Cracks. There is something about that film. I recommended it to a friend and they also found it striking enough to write a blog post about it. (Don't read the book though; I did and it was shit.)
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 10, 2022 5:05 PM |
Believer it or not, it's entirely possible to be a Hollywood actor and keep your personal life private. Celebrities just like to lie and say they have no privacy but the ones on the tabloid covers seek out attention, call the paps and live in areas where they will be spotted. They want to be recognized. As they are just narcissists who get off on being the center of attention. Actors who just focus on being actors and aren't about the celebrity life, will show up to the set and do the normal promotion and interviews and go straight home. Often living in places where they can live privately and dressing down when they go out in public with sunglasses and hoodies.

R20 Agree, most of the relationships we hear about are between two famous people or people deliberately putting their relationships into the media or in front of the paparazzi.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 10, 2022 5:12 PM |
She was so sexy in The Dreamers. She and the gorgeous Louis Garrel made twincest look so hot.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 10, 2022 5:18 PM |
I always thought she would've made a great Wonder Woman
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 10, 2022 5:21 PM |
I agree - the best Bond girl.
And she was amazing in Dark Shadows, which had a strong cast overall. Helena Bonham-Carter was also hilarious in that. Too bad the actual script was shit.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 10, 2022 5:22 PM |
She was even somehow good in the otherwise terrible Golden Compass movie. Like the user above said, she's got serious presence.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 10, 2022 5:42 PM |
Not to mention how ethereally beautiful she is. She's luminous, IMO.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 10, 2022 5:44 PM |
She was tremendous in Penny Dreadful. With her saggy eyes, she's turning into Charlotte Rampling, but with bigger tits, much bigger tits.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 10, 2022 6:33 PM |
Agree, R27. She was really, really good in Penny Dreadful. If you haven't seen it, it was a re-imagining of various monsters and supernatural characters set in Victorian times. Vampires, Frankenstein's monster, werewolves, Jekyll and Hyde, Dorian Gray, witches, demons--it was actually very good. Eva Green played Vanessa Ives, a woman possessed by a demon and who had supernatural powers. There were many episodes where she was utterly fantastic.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 10, 2022 6:37 PM |
She is gorgeous, has a real woman's face and body, as opposed to the permanent teens and anorexics we've been subjected to for the past 15-20 years. Consistently excellent actress and woefully underused.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 10, 2022 6:43 PM |
I’ve always liked her, “Cracks” is a good film.
She does ping lesbian to me but maybe she’s asexual like OP suggests.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 10, 2022 6:45 PM |
I don't think she's asexual - she must actually be very shy and averse to press. It's not unheard of for sex symbol/bombshell types - Kim Basinger (who I don't care for at all as an actress) has severe anxiety and depression.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 10, 2022 6:49 PM |
She wasn't very good in White Bird in a Blizzard, but no one was, despite its incredible cast. It was one of the post-Mysterious Skin projects from Gregg Araki during the years when someone was really trying to make him happen, but he never quite did.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 10, 2022 6:50 PM |
She did some astronaut movie a couple of years ago, I forget the name, and she was incredible in it - it should have gotten a better release but it was a small character piece entirely set on the ground about training, no big dumb space fights or Sandra Bullock flopping around, which is all theaters play anymore
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 10, 2022 7:00 PM |
She’s beautiful and a great actress. She keeps her private life private which I applaud as she really should be like one of those mysterious old Hollywood sirens. I think if she was with a man he would want to show her off.

by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 22, 2022 5:43 AM |
She rapes an underage female student in that Cracks movie. I was shocked that they showed a portion of it.
I loved the movie she did where she eats a bar of soap in a bathtub with Ewan whathisface
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 22, 2022 6:40 AM |
She’s captivating in everything I’ve seen her in. Absolutely riveting.
Appreciate that she keeps her private life private. It suits her and her ability to transform and elevate her characters. (Say this after being inundated for the thousandth time with another JLo headline....ugh.)
I do recall, though, Green made some comment (aka accusations?) about Harvey Weinstein when the whole #MeToo thing began.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 22, 2022 6:58 AM |
A great actress and absolutely riveting onscreen. She reminds me a little of Nastassja Kinski in that she just has an incredible presence on screen (but Green is a far superior actress).
I like that she is private. She retains some mystery, which is what I wish more actors and performers would do. Social media has turned me off a number of celebs.

R29 Yes. It's nice to see an adult actor who doesn't have that weird pubescent baby face a lot of them ( both male and female) have going on nowadays. Don't get me wrong baby faces can be quite cute but it's just the market is saturated with 30 and 40 year olds who still look 16.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 22, 2022 7:26 AM |
R40 kinski is one of the most beautiful women ever in my opinion. I always see her neglected when DL does another one of their near daily " Who was the most gorgeous actress ever?" threads.

I had no idea she was the daughter of Marlene Jobert (who was so good in Rider on the Rain).

Apparently it was down to her and Anne Hathaway for Catwoman. Green, IMO, is a much better actress and less annoying than Hathaway, but the latter’s bigger name won out.
I would have also liked to have seen Green replace Hathaway in The Witches remake.

Love Eva 🇫🇷
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 6, 2022 12:59 PM |
It's hard for really beautiful women to find a man not intimidated by her and worried she'll leave him. Even harder if she's an independent and successful woman. In the world she probably mostly finds herself where male actors can be even more insecure and ego driven than the average guy, well chances get worse. Guys will settle for less good looking and more compliant women who'll abandon their own careers and independence to follow them from set location to set location and be there for them. Straight guys can be a mess psychologically.
But that's just my opinion. Sorry to be a downer but maybe Eva's privately in love and happy.

There's a big Three Musketeers series of movies in France that she's starring in with Vincent Cassel, Vicky Krieps, Romain Duris, Louis Garrel, and François Civil - amazing cast.
There's also this horror movie that sounds interesting to me:

[quote]Burton was enough of a rumor that she denied it at least once. But she's also made it clear that she wants to keep her private life private, so you'd expect a denial even if true.
As if she would ever confirm that she was fucking her director who had just recently separated from his long-time partner after working with her... They were pictured strolling together on a night out in London with Burton with his arm around her when they weren't even filming anything. Burton also has an history of fucking his actresses.
[quote]Could she be lesbionic, and that's why she is hiding her private life and relationships?
She has dated men and even actors in the past, but they either weren't famous enough for people to care about who she fucks and/or she didn't call the paps to stage "a romantic and super spontaneous stroll" whenever she left her house.
[quote]Green made some comment (aka accusations?) about Harvey Weinstein when the whole #MeToo thing began.
She did, and then she worked with rapist Roman Polanski right after that and called him "a nice man" in an interview.
[quote]She’s also worked with Roman Polanski, on last year’s Based on a True Story. “It’s not a good film,” Green tuts. But did she have to think hard about accepting that job? “No,” she replies firmly. “In France he’s much better perceived than in America or England. He’s a god. In the [French] movie industry it’s always like, ‘you have to work with Polanski’. And he’s a nice man. I think it’s a bit different now that I know him, and I know his wife,” she says of the actress Emmanuelle Seigner, her co-star in the film, “and they have a different version [of the original story]… And it is a long thing and I don’t want to take sides. But people are complicated. You get the opportunity to work with a great artist... I don’t know, it’s a hard one. You sell your soul, I guess,” Green concedes.
[quote]And then there’s Harvey Weinstein. Last year, in an interview with a French radio station, Green’s mother Marlène Jobert alleged that the disgraced mogul tried to physically assault her daughter in a Parisian hotel suite. “She managed to escape, but he threatened to destroy her professionally,” said Jobert.
[quote]Talking publicly about the incident for the first time, Green admits to feeling heavily intimidated at the meeting, which was for “a project that didn’t exist” and was sold to her on the basis of how he could change my career.
[quote]“He’s very pushy. But he gets turned on by fear, that’s for sure. He’s not quite right here,” she says, tapping her temple. “It’s about power — I’ve seen him in restaurants…’
[quote]“Also, lots of people in this business knew about it, not mentioning names. And I’m still angry with them — they knew what happened to me and they never did anything. They preferred to remain blind because he was God.”
Gotta love how she's angry with the people who allegedly knew about what Weinstein did to her only minutes after she called another rapist "a nice man" and saying she won't take sides regarding the proven fact that he's a convicted rapist...

The thing that comes with age is the ability to view through nuances and hold two rapidly different thoughts concurrently. She is exhibiting this behavior R60 in discussing Polanski and Harvey. You do know Roman's victim has forgiven him and appealed for him as well, right?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | September 27, 2022 7:37 AM |
R60 How do you know that she dated men?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | September 27, 2022 8:11 AM |
R62 = Rapist apologist.
[quote]You do know Roman's victim has forgiven him and appealed for him as well, right?
You do know that forgiving someone doesn't erase their crime, right? Polanski will always be a rapist whether his fans like it or not, just like Weinstein and Woody Allen. No matter how much time passes, it will never change what they did. Green didn't see any "nuance" on Weinstein or on the people who knew what he did to her, she literally said she's still angry at them for not doing anything, and yet she can't feel the same for her dear Polanski, the rapist because she doesn't want to take sides, as if it was a football match. She makes it clear that only her experience matters, she doesn't care if someone she likes did the same thing or worse to someone else.
