Beyoncé and Madonna did a remix to “Break My Soul”

Mrs. Carter should have done a remix with Deep In Vogue instead.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 5, 2022 10:48 PM |
Has Madonna ever collaborated with Beyonce officially? Though I wonder if Madonna would be too insecure to do a duet with someone who can sing. I think she did a collab with Britney, Timberlake, Swae Lee and Nicki because they can't overpower her vocally.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 5, 2022 11:02 PM |
No problem.
Beyonce can't sing either.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 5, 2022 11:04 PM |
Good share, OP. I like it better than the original.
r1, seek help for your LSA obsession.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 5, 2022 11:09 PM |
Beyoncé used to sing but now she prefers to rap over overproduced beats. The twinks love it though.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 5, 2022 11:10 PM |
Madonna duetted with Babyface live on TV. She sounded terrible. The woman always had big balls.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 5, 2022 11:14 PM |
But but but OP Madonna cannot sing! How how how will they duet?
Ok ok ok there will be autotune yadda yadda yadda. I can see why Madonna would want this, hitching her old tired act to Beyonce.
But what's in this for Beyonce? She doesn't need Madonna.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 6, 2022 2:30 AM |
R9 it’s not that fucking deep.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 6, 2022 2:31 AM |
Well, Michael Jackson is dead. Ditto Whitney Houston and Prince. Madonna is the only one left. Beyonce wants to be a legend, and not just to people who were young in the Destiny's Child era.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 6, 2022 2:32 AM |
I wonder if she'll prop up Tina Turner... Apparently this album will be multi volume.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 6, 2022 2:33 AM |
Beyoncé is considered a legend.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 6, 2022 2:55 AM |
R4, she collaborated with Prince. A real singer.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 6, 2022 2:57 AM |
Among her fanbase, yes. But by aligning herself with older acts, e.g. Tina Turner, she wants to be considered one of the Greatest Of All Time. Beyonce, like Pink, hasn't been relevant on Radio for a decade. She has streaming fans but she wants the old school gatekeepers on her side.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 6, 2022 2:58 AM |
What women get radio play post 40? Look up the statistics. It’s time to stop holding “she doesn’t get radio play” against female artists over 40 when statistics show the majority stop charting and having hits post 40!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 6, 2022 3:14 AM |
[quote]Well, Michael Jackson is dead. Ditto Whitney Houston and Prince. Madonna is the only one left.
Surely you motherfucking jest...
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 6, 2022 3:29 AM |
R18 yes but that is a mashup created by someone else. Beyoncé nor Janet has anything to do with it.
This is an official release by Beyoncé.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 6, 2022 3:49 AM |
Bey literally mentions Janet on this song r17
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 6, 2022 3:50 AM |
I didn’t want to like this. But, it’s good.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 6, 2022 4:07 AM |
Love it. Especially the updated rap celebrating so many iconic Black women in music. I also love how intentionally weird and uncommercial this album is. And I love how much this album spotlights and celebrates gay and queer culture. And, specifically, Black gay and queer culture. I honestly didn't expect to be this engaged with a Beyonce album in 2022, but gotta hand it to her, she did THAT.
Here are all the queens from the rap...
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 6, 2022 4:42 AM |
Me and my friend were discussing the album while shopping at Target (because we saw it there on the shelf) and I said I like a couple of songs from it but overall wasn’t a fan of it but respect what she did. My friend said she won’t listen to it because she hates “Break My Soul”. This gay white QUEEN comes over to us and says “I heard you two saying you don’t like Beyoncé’s CD but I’m buying it anyway!” Snappy with a smirk on his face while holding the CD. I said yeah you definitely should if you like it. He said he didn’t buy her most recent albums because she sounded “angry” on them but she seems fine again so he’s buying it, then he walked away.
We were so confused lol.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 6, 2022 4:49 AM |
I assume the OP's link will get taken down by Sony/Parkwood very quickly, so here's the official YT upload that just went live.
So, who are the iconic (or, at least, well known) Black female artists she left out of her rap? Obviously she couldn't get EVERYONE in. (I love that Grace jones got TWO mentions!)
She goes pretty far back, too, with shout-outs to Bessie Smith, Rosetta Tharpe and Nina Simone.
Some big ones that didn't make the cut...
Patti LaBelle
Gladys Knight
Ella Fitzgerald
Billie Holiday
Sarah Vaughan
Queen Latifah
Donna Summer (that one actually surprises me given the big I Feel Love sample on the album)
Gloria Gaynor
Tina Turner
Mariah Carey
Mary J. Blige
Etta James
Chaka Khan
Mahalia Jackson
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 6, 2022 4:57 AM |
R25 if she’s sampling Donna Summer’s song wouldn’t that mean she views her as inspirational?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 6, 2022 5:00 AM |
Yes, exactly, R26. Which is a reason I was surprised she wasn't included in the "shout-outs" on this remix. Not to mention, so much of this album's sound is rooted in dance music, especially dance music that has been produced by and/or resonated with black and gay artists.
I mean, she actually has a duet with Grace Jones on the album, but she also calls out Grace in the Vogue rap. But, she couldn't get everyone in, obviously.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 6, 2022 5:30 AM |

Sorry, I don’t get her. And her sales plummeted for this album so I guess I’m not alone.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 6, 2022 11:13 AM |
It’s “aight”. Like many remixes, it ‘s fine for dancing. As a song for listening? Meh.
The lyrics remind me of playing with a tape recorder when I was a kid, saying random things and making laundry lists of whatever. It has a stream-of-consciousness feel to it, which means one listen is enough for me.

This is mix is actually kinda fun. She's really going hard for the gays this time around, and I say, "Let her." I haven't liked a Beyonce album in 10 years, and this new one is getting heavy rotation in my house. I love this foul-mouthed, 40 yr old mother of 3.

Beyoncé calls Madonna “QUEEN MOTHER MADONNA”. Wow the RESPECT given how enormous her ego is. Madonna’s influence is unparalleled
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 6, 2022 1:47 PM |
^Of course she did, because it’s her song that she sampled. Every woman that Beyoncé named had inspired her, particularly Janet, Sade, Jill, etc. I'm surprised she didn’t try and squeeze Tina in there somewhere.

Incorrect. I am Janbot.
[quote]trying desperately (and failing miserably) to try and keep her relevant.
That's rich, coming from someone who is obviously the epitome of desperate and miserable. Janet's relevancy is apparent whenever you see any of the current female dance-pop and R&B stars.
But you knew this.

I am just happy to see her shine a major light on a legendary artist like Sade - a woman with her own unparalleled unmatched sound. She defined her lane and no one since has really stepped into it. It is all masterfully hers. It is an insane world where an artist like Sade only has four grammies and Taylor Swift has 11.

Anyone else picking up the Dee-Lite references with the Ooohh La La references in the beginning? Lady Miss Kier - Ohhh la laa, la, la, la la la Laaa. I can't believe I am of an age where every sound is familiar, every sample. It feels like slipping into something very comfortable. I was 15-25 in the 90s. So this sound is a major part of my coming of age for sure. I remember seeing Kevin Aviance for the first time at Palladium performing Din Da Da. And I saw him perform Cunty, which Bey samples for Pure/Honey, at Joe's Pub when he released Box of Chocolates. And the circle of art considering Kevin got wider acclaim for his appearance in Madonna's Secret video. Who else has this album got feeling like an ORChid!?!

She made this album in honor of her late gay uncle r70. There’s a certain racist poster on here who is always saying you just know she’s a raging homophobic behind closed doors when she’s always been an ally. Her uncle was close to his sister, Tina, and was always in her girls lives. Beyoncé speaks about how close she was to him and how hard it was on her when he was battling HIV.
She speaks about him in the video below.
He was a gay black man who loved ballroom culture (which was very black but later appropriated by white gays).

Madonna is just a nice cute sample that gives Bey the chance to pay homage to some of her musical heros.
The other songs on the album are the true revolution. Break My Soul is probably the weakest one, before the REMIX.
Beyonce just became the greatest musical performer and recording artist of our time. Again.

It's the thing that Datalounge doesn't get about Beyonce. Bey is a good girl. Proper and respectful. Always has been. Ambitious for sure. But she's the furthest thing from a whore or a brat. She works HARD. And she idolizes HER idols, just like the rest of us. She's speaks a language of respect and love. Something Madonna is uncomfortable with doing. But she'll accept the flowers.
Always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper.

Madonna has always shown support for the younger pop princesses. She also has done so privately like with Toni Braxton who said Madonna privately reached out when she was struggling and didn’t want credit by going public. Same way she befriended that little girl dying of cancer, called her every day and spoke with her for hours (it was on Oprah). She also reached out to Whitney when she miscarried and sent her baby clothes when Bobbi was born. There are other examples (Ellen said the same about when she came out). Madonna puts up walls and has abandonment issues due to her mother’s death. She hides behind a tough exterior.
Bey truly loves Madonna and likewise.

At least Madonna is getting some positive press for once. I'm not a fan of the song, but I like that Beyonce paid homage to THE pop star that paved the way for her.

I don't get the Vadge stans who need to put down other female pop stars on this website. They're all over the Janet threads, Gaga threads and Shania thread. They were all over the Michael Jackson thread too. It's like they can't accept other pop stars have held influence on the pop culture landscape besides Madonna. Yes, Madonna is one of the highest selling artists of all time but sales don't translate to having more influence. Janet had so much influence on pop music and choreography to the point there's a whole Wikipedia page devoted to it. She didn't sell as much as Madonna but it's ridiculous to say she didn't share influence on the landscape along with Madonna, Michael Jackson, Elton John and others.
Yep, Beyonce took from Madonna heavily as well as Tina Turner, Grace Jones, Janet Jackson and others. Beyonce does pay tribute to her influences. The one thing Madonna and Beyonce have in common is they have a tendency to borrow from lesser-known artists and take credit.

MJ is the most influential pop star of the 80s r146
by Anonymous | reply 147 | August 10, 2022 3:22 PM |
R147 Of course Michael is number one. Even Madonna took influence from him. But I would say Prince was the second most influential (and still is) in terms of sound and musical production
by Anonymous | reply 148 | August 10, 2022 3:27 PM |
At least we can all agree it wasn’t George Michael.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | August 10, 2022 3:29 PM |
Prince influenced a whole movement called Minneapolis Sound. And Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Teddy Riley, Babyface, LA Reid, R. Kelly, Jermaine Dupri, Timbaland, Neptunes, and others were all influenced by Prince. When Prince heard Justin Timberlake's SexyBack he called that out because it was so derivative of his sound.

Prince and MJ both loved Britney and Beyoncé
by Anonymous | reply 151 | August 10, 2022 3:38 PM |
R151 Prince liked Beyonce because she had talent and can sing and physically, very much P's type. I don't think P thought much about Britney who couldn't sing and relied on tons of autotune. P didn't like Timberlake either. Also, Michael Jackson performed with Britney but I don't think that indicated he cared much for her, he just saw that as an opportunity to get back in the public spotlight with the biggest pop star of the time. I do give Britney props for singing live with MJ who was lip-syncing poorly. She had courage for that even if she sounded like shit.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | August 10, 2022 3:41 PM |
Prince did like Britney.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | August 10, 2022 3:42 PM |
R153 Well Prince liked young and pretty girls. I think that's where it ended. I doubt P thought she was talented or worthy of much praise. Maybe P would have produced for her like he did with the other untalented pretty girls he worked with in the 80s and 90s like Vanity and Carmen Electra. But P thought with his dick back then.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | August 10, 2022 3:44 PM |
A lot of great pop stars have their favorites of the next generations pop stars. Britney was a star. You don’t need great talent to be a great Pop Star, which she was. They loved that she was a great pop star, and the biggest of her generation (at least at the time)
by Anonymous | reply 155 | August 10, 2022 3:49 PM |
R155 I don't care. She can't sing, she can't write songs and is barely talented. She could dance (though not that amazing). She had no influence because all of what she did was derivative of 80s pop stars. Beyonce can sing and dance far better. Americans are morons, the Kardashians and McDonalds are also popular.
Now back to what I was saying. Prince seemed fond of Madonna because while Madonna couldn't sing well, she was in control of her career, pushed limits creatively and refused to be a puppet. Prince praised Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Kanye West, Janelle Monae, Lizzo, Kendrick Lamar and others before his death. Prince on other hand didn't seem fond of Michael, Janet, Timberlake or Britney, I think to him they represented the corporate machine and are puppets.

by Anonymous | reply 158 | August 10, 2022 3:54 PM |
R158 Yes but Prince did praise Kanye and Kendrick, so I think he didn't mind the use of samples if done creatively. I really think he liked Beyonce because she's hot and he wanted her as a protege. Physically, Beyonce is the type Prince would have dated.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | August 10, 2022 3:58 PM |
George Michael also really liked Beyonce too. Seacow ignores that Britney got trashed all the time by many musicians and critics for her lack of talent and many felt she ruined the music industry. While Christina Aguilera, Pink and Beyonce were pretty much well-regarded from their debuts till today. Britney was more like Justin Bieber, super big pop star that sold a lot but reviled by many who were outside the demographic, fell out of public favor and had a brief success post-teen idol days but again fell out of musical relevance.

[quote] Prince on other hand didn't seem fond of Michael, Janet, Timberlake or Britney, I think to him they represented the corporate machine and are puppets.
Prince respected Michael. There was an interview where they asked Prince his thoughts about Michael and Janet, and he responded, "Michael, genius. Janet, sister of a genius." It was Janet he didn't care for and that was due to him feeling salty that Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis left him to produce for her. He and Michael had a rivalry but both respected each other. Michael was far from a puppet and can't be grouped in with the likes of Timberlake and Spears.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | August 10, 2022 6:29 PM |
That whole “sister of a genius” thing is a longstanding rumor that no one has ever provided receipts for. Prince was amazed by Janet’s landmark record deal with Virgin, and told her choreographer Tina Landon that if she ever needed advice about her masters that he would advise her (she must’ve taken him up on it, because she now owns her masters). His private photographer once stated that, when news got out about Janet’s deal, he was seen walking around Paisley Park muttering “Janet Fucking Jackson” to himself.

Jam & Lewis left Prince and produced hits for other artists before they collaborated with Janet. Shep is known to have recycled his own tracks. The track for "Vogue" was a hodge-podge of different songs, principally inspired by MFSB's "Love Is The Message" which was a ballroom anthem. Shep would have been very familiar with it from his years as a DJ.
Madonna only wrote the lyrics (allegedly) she didn't have anything to do with the track. Likewise, Janet had nothing to do with her remix.

He made a major slip-up in the current Shania Twain thread when he posted this:

Madonna associated a lot with black and Latino gays in NYC. Janet and Jody as well. I don't know if it's fair to say Madonna appropriated it, just she was inspired by it and brought attention to it. Jody Watley was also voguing. Janet had Willi Ninja in her Alright video. I watched Paris is Burning and most of the houses and balls were made of up of black and Caribbean gays.

Madonna was immersed in gay culture and nightlife from the time she was a teenager, she was introduced to it by her dance teacher Christopher Flynn who later died from AIDS. [quote]When she's 80 and her most recent facelift relaxes
[quote]Donna sings 80% of Merly's witch. And Cinesnatch is 79 years OLD!
In the Shania thread:
[quote]You're closer to 80 than 50 years old.
And, yes, I'm 48. But, someone here is not 39. By all means, Ms. AWF troll, please explain how a 12-year-old white Canadian gets into an international production of Sunset Blvd. Have you done that yet? I know honesty is your kryptonite.

You are 79 years old with multiple accounts R244. Lying about it changes nothing.
You tell M responds to G jokes? Case closed. Not only are you old, ubiquitous, a racist and a liar - you're also never funny or clever. OLD. Cinesnatch has 4 accounts here - sometimes one gets red tagged. He is many posters on Datalounge.
You have a full time job? Wandering around the home?

^^tell us how old you really are.

Lemme guess, she didn't explain how her "12-year-old" self appeared in a 1995 Toronto production of Sunset Blvd, which she herself claimed she was in. Lemme guess ... she deflected and made up crap (like that orange blob Donald Trump).

She is the ancient faggy "insulting" pronoun you use when you're posting as Miss Warwick,R248. Don't get it twisted!
by Anonymous | reply 249 | August 12, 2022 9:14 PM |
I love that this thread has turned into roasting that mentally insane cunt AWF troll. Bitch should've been banned years ago, but it's hard to do so when he creates so many back-up sock puppet accounts.
Let the roasting of this bitch commence!
by Anonymous | reply 250 | August 12, 2022 9:39 PM |
Where do dumb bitches like that Ancient White Fag lunatic and the KING idiot post from? Straight from the nut house?
by Anonymous | reply 251 | August 12, 2022 9:45 PM |
No it's Cinesnatch aka Miss Warwick who live in long term care. HE has several more anonymous accounts that he posts more frequently from.
by Anonymous | reply 252 | August 12, 2022 10:08 PM |
R252 ist offensichtlich eine Hure.
by Anonymous | reply 253 | August 12, 2022 10:13 PM |
AWF and "King" troll are the same posters.
by Anonymous | reply 254 | August 12, 2022 10:39 PM |
^ That poster is probably also a real Hure.

Hi R254, I haven't heard of the "King" troll. Any examples/links/MO/etc.

I love the image of an old fat Canuck, sitting in his hovel and hovering over his computer, pretending to be a young(ish) black dude who's so hip and so happening. Funny!
by Anonymous | reply 259 | August 12, 2022 11:08 PM |
You can tell he's a Canuck because he never uses American black vernacular. Even white Americans could easily do that.
by Anonymous | reply 260 | August 12, 2022 11:10 PM |
Cinesnatch has been exposed and he's a very unhappy OLD man about it.
by Anonymous | reply 261 | August 12, 2022 11:11 PM |
R261 = Hurenposting, denn nur Huren posten blöde Smileys im Rudel.

Olivia De Havilland is my cousin. What if Matt Damon was Emperor of France? Miss Warwicke used HIS grotesque RACIST "black vernacular" until myself and others got HIM banned from Datalounge.
Cinesnatch is also the SCAT troll.

[quote] Miss Warwicke used HIS grotesque RACIST "black vernacular" until myself and others got HIM banned from Datalounge.
Miss Warwick is not banned you moron. He simply stopped posting under that moniker because he got tired of you harassing him. Those threads were popular at Datalounge and a lot of fun until you ruined them.
That's one of the many reasons why I can't stand your pretending-to-be-a-black-Canadian-mentally-disturbed ass!
But in the words of Dionne Warwick, we gotcha numba, hussy!

Anne Marie Tendler is a saint. She received threats from you too. You're NUTS!!

Don't you have a supermodel of the 70s thread to start? Celebrate when you were 35 years old!

[quote] Jody Watley was also voguing.
Jody is "waacking" not "voguing" although to some they are the same thing.
by Anonymous | reply 270 | August 13, 2022 12:32 AM |
Jody was in a R&B-soul band for years. She's a real deal of a singer. I think Madonna is good at what she does. But Jody is so underrated in comparison to Madonna, Janet and Paula.

Beyonce looks fat and matronly. Lizzo is fresher and prettier!
And more entertaining.

Lizzo is precious.

R258 / Cinesnatch, that KING lunatic has been posting in one of the Anne Heche threads, from about approximately R415 onwards.
by Anonymous | reply 277 | August 13, 2022 12:17 PM |
But you are Cinesnatch, R277. You are one and the same poster. NUTJOB.
What is your facility having for breakfast today? Will there be BINGO!!
by Anonymous | reply 278 | August 13, 2022 12:29 PM |
R278, I'm not. And if you're too dumb to find out, there's no hope for you.
