It sounds like an " honor" killing to me or they were tired if being afraid and gave up hope. There were no drugs found in the autopsies? ( OD).

The autopsy results aren’t back yet despite them being rushed. Something to do with family permission not being granted from family back in Saudi.

There was a case of (Saudi, I think) sisters who were found in either the Hudson or East River around 10 years ago or so. Anyone remember that? Sadly, these are likely honor killings.

Suicide

My phone number got hacked about 5 years ago and I had to change it. The person who had the phone number previously was apparently a young Muslim woman. I would get “Happy Eid” messages for her and other well wishes. About 2 months after I got the number I received a text message that said “I am going to kill you and will be painful.” Clearly the message was not for me. I reported it and the number to the police and they said they would look into it but I don’t know what happened.
