Sherry, Niles?
Do we have any sherry aficionados? Sherry currently seems to be not quite irredeemably unfashionable, but a “wine nerd” drink.
I purchased two reasonably inexpensive bottles today: the sweet, dark Barbadillo Pedro Ximenez and the light, crisp Tio Pepe Fino. I look forward to trying them out.
I also look forward to asking my guests “sherry, Niles?” at Christmas.

Frasier Crane was seen pouring from a bottle of Harvey’s Bristol Cream which he would soon as drink than celebrate his birthday dining in a Little Red Cabin.
That was a rare misstep from the Frasier props department. Harvey’s is a sickening cheap blend, the stuff of lace curtains and the Queen Mum, that Miss Marple would reject for being too naff.

Not all sherry is sweet.
[quote]Sherry is historically known to be a very dry wine, although there are deliciously sweet versions on the market today.
