That said, many months ago and moving forward, I expressed frustration and some skepticism about the focus and energy the DoJ was putting into the matter. It was more of "haven't heard anything", or "what's the timeline for action", rather than "is the AG and his personnel are being fearful, sympathetic to DJT and are partisan, closeted Republicans, or are they just being lethargic?".

The House Jan. 06 committee members began publicly (via mainstream media), and certainly through private channels, expressing a level of urgency for the DoJ to show movement. I would not call Adam Schiff, for example, a naysayer or looking foolish. To the contrary, Schiff knows what happened, and how the system is to deal with it, probably better than anyone. Had the DoJ been issuing subpoenas for documents from the DJT "inner circle", the targeted individuals and their attorneys would have been squealing about it.

Certain pressure has merit. The 06 committee and their congressional allies, I believe, were instrumental in getting the ball rolling at an elevated pace. To me, the pressure, done in a modest but systematic manner, was a positive development. The 06 committee needed a level of cooperation with the DoJ at least regarding action on referrals within authoritative limits as defined.

Garland, Wray, and the judge signing-off on the order for the f-b-i to enter Mar-a-Lago to retrieve and secure classified documents pertaining to national security, in the scope of the judicial process, was deemed a critical endeavor. Had they not done so, it would soon be seen as a dereliction of duty. The National Archives, another federal agency which has the legal claim of possession of the documents, were quite angry and frustrated with Trump transported them to Florida and refusing to cooperate in their return.

I will reserve judgment on the DoJ in assessing the totality of their investigative work and whether or not an array of indictments will be rendered to DJT and his cronies who had major roles leading into Jan. 06. I see it as a work in progress. Results: to be determined.
