Why were Jeb Bush and George W Bush never interested in bimbos?

Politicians typically want boring and stable wives who'll always support them.

1. I think they knew their father's philandering hurt their mother.

2. If they did cheat, they followed his example of keeping a discreet mistress.

Their father had affairs? Do tell.

Did the old man GHWB dabble with many, a la JFK - or stick to one mistress at a time, a la Ike?

The W was too drunk to get it up anyway.

Who knows what Florida Man Jeb was up to, down there in the swamp.

Once you have sex with Barbara Bush, everyone else is chopped liver.

GHWB had a longtime mistress, Jennifer Fitzgerald. She even went to China with him. I don't know if he had other girlfriends. I do remember Kitty Kelly's book about Nancy Reagan including a bit when Nancy was amused that GHWB had been pulled over (DWI?) with his girlfriend in the car.

What else can you do when you're married to your grandmother?

Maybe the sons were unaware of their father's infidelity and thought he was a total gentlemen. Or, maybe they did know and saw how much it hurt their mother, which I've read it did. Not sure of the truth of the accounts about how it affected the old lady, though.

I can't imagine how Sr.'s mother would have reacted to such knowledge.

#1 is right: both closet cases. Alcoholics Bush Jr. and Pickles had sex once (and luckily had twins!). I read that he always insisted on working out at the local college- probably for access to hot young men.

She expected it. Men of that generation from a family like Bush's chose women with a pedigree to breed the "right kind" of off-spring, and had mistresses on the side. Unfortunately, there was some wayward idiot in the genes - probably on Barbara's side - that produced a Bush idiot, George W.
