Judy was one of the best-looking singers ever. She also had a lot of pain and struggle throughout her life. Despite that, she had a good heart, which is hard to encounter in Hollywood. At a time when gay people were oppressed beyond belief, they identified with her struggles and she theirs.

Judy...very nice looking woman.

She was hideous.

The 1940's. Maybe For Me and Mt Gal. Or any time she was directed by Vincent Minnelli.

She was beautiful! I never understood Hollywood’s criticisms of her looks. From what I’ve read, they manipulated her nose and teeth/lips. Can anyone here elaborate on what exactly was done to enhance Judy’s looks?

Best: Meet Me in St Louis in 1944
Worst: Dying in a bathroom in London in 1969

Considering she was a mess during The Pirate, I thought she looked great in the Mack the Black number.
But I think she looked her best in Meet Me in St. Louis. Gorgeous.

Did she and Mickey Rooney ever date?

[quote] Did she and Mickey Rooney ever date?
They fucked and were exhibitionists. They put on a show.

Best: Girl Crazy, Presenting Lily Mars and The Clock.
She looks wan and tired in her late 40s MGM films - she aged ten years from 1945-49. She put on weight but actually looks great in SUMMER STOCK including the svelte "Get Happy" number.

I think she was beautiful until her late 30s early 40s when the drinking and drug use caught up.

I think she looked lovely while she was in her tv show. Very sophisticated.

I don't find her attractive.

Meet Me in St. Louis for sure.

Her high points looks wise were 1942-1948-she was truly beautiful in looks through these years . Her low points were 1957-1960 (leading up to her hepatitis and recovering) and 1964-1969 (post television show and Hong Kong overdose-to the end)

Madonna looks like her

She was pretty in a girl next door kind of way, she had especially lovely hair and eyes. Extremely far from ugly in her prime.

Looked cute

She was cute and pretty in her twenties and early thirties. Mostly her magnetism more or less made her one of the few when on film that you could not take tour eyes off, never mind her voice. But her addictions caught up with her quickly and much of the rest of her life she was too heavy or too thin- almost wasted. And finally she looked decades older than she was, and sounded it too. It was gard to see her decline in the 60s. She baffled me when I was a kid.

Looked innocent

Looked like a doll. Very pretty and sweet until her coping mechanisms visibly changed her.

She wasn't a Lana Turner like stunner, but she looked like the pretty girl down the street.

Yffyy

Average... Hollywood makeup and hair styling helped.

R24, why was that scene deleted from the movie? Just wondering
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 10, 2022 4:59 AM |
@r27 because they thought the costume didn’t fit the time period of Easter Parade, the 1910s I believe. But the look went on to be reprised in the iconic Get Happy for Summer Stock,

“ why was that scene deleted from the movie? Just wondering”
The number was monotonous.

Alas, r29 is correct. It's a pretty crappy Berlin song, but my god, Judy sells the shit out of it and looks like a million bucks.
I think Berlin later gave it to Merman for (I think) CALL ME MADAM) and it was cut there too.
