RIP.
I thought he died a long time ago
by Anonymous | reply 1 | July 25, 2022 6:36 PM |
Duh duh.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 25, 2022 6:36 PM |
Damn. Mira might shatter like a glass unicorn
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 25, 2022 6:40 PM |
You mean "doink doink," r2?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 25, 2022 6:41 PM |
Now maybe Amir’s can get some patio furniture.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 25, 2022 6:42 PM |
Sorry, r4, I didn't know how to spell it
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 25, 2022 6:42 PM |
Goddamnit Jeff, it’s spelled “Mira”
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 25, 2022 6:43 PM |
BARF
[quote] Sorvino married his third wife, Dee Dee Benkie, a GOP strategist and former aide to President George W. Bush, in 2014. They had met on Fox News Channel’s Your World With Neil Cavuto.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 25, 2022 6:50 PM |
Was he known for playing any particular type of character?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 25, 2022 6:52 PM |
A fine actor but like others, I was quite convinced he'd already died years ago.
In any case, rest in peace, sir.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 25, 2022 6:53 PM |
I always liked him in this movie with LeVar Burton from 1979. It was a TV movie from back in the day when there were great TV movies. Whenever I watch Looking for Mr. Goodbar, I remember it, because of LeVar Burton playing a deaf man.
I also Liked Paul Sorvino in L&O. May he RIP.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 25, 2022 6:58 PM |
Maybe Mira can now fix up that Malibu shit hole she calls a house.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 25, 2022 6:59 PM |
I’ve watched the video of Paul Sorvino peeing on me 5 times today. I’m so fucking sad he was such a great guy :(
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 25, 2022 7:01 PM |
My favorite movie with Paul Sorvino was Bloodbrothers, in which I was also introduced to Richard Gere.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 25, 2022 7:01 PM |
Everyone will remember him for "Goodfellas," but I prefer to honor his trashier films, like "My Mother's Secret Life" with Loni Anderson. His role is small (she's a hooker, he's a smitten john), and Anderson couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, but he still took pride in his work.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 25, 2022 7:02 PM |
I loved him Romeo and Juliet.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 25, 2022 7:02 PM |

R13 Fat chance!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 25, 2022 7:03 PM |
Can you imagine that? Can you imagine that? Everybody knew my name.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 25, 2022 7:03 PM |
he died in IN. that's what i heard on the news. he lived there?!
he died of natural causes.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 25, 2022 7:03 PM |
I always wondered what he was like naked and aroused.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 25, 2022 7:14 PM |
His widow is an ugly MAGA cunt and MTG fan. Thank god he never knocked her up.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 25, 2022 7:15 PM |
When he joined L&O, one tv critic remarked that "Sorvino seemed like he'd been to the well once too often". He did seem to be phoning it in at that point. I liked him in Goodfellas.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 25, 2022 7:17 PM |
Awww, Worf’s brother…
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 25, 2022 7:19 PM |
How come he never had Harvey bumped off?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 25, 2022 7:21 PM |
He always reminded me of my Italian grandfather, who was also named Paul.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 25, 2022 7:22 PM |
There seems to be some disagreement. One source said Indiana. The other said Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville---he died in a hellhole regardless with his MAGA princess at his side. Apparently, he had had severe asthma for much of his life---I'm guessing some respiratory disease got him.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 25, 2022 7:30 PM |
He was such an amazing black thespian. No doubt his black daughter Mira is heartbroken. May she RIP.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 25, 2022 7:34 PM |
No mention of his role in "Cruising"....
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 25, 2022 7:34 PM |
Loved him in Goodfellas and Law and Order.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 25, 2022 7:35 PM |
Who?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 25, 2022 7:37 PM |
You bitiches kept manifesting this in the "Mira Sorvino is broke" thread, and now it happened!
You kept talking about her "inheritance" when her father Paul dies.
Well, I guess on a positive note, she can finally fix up her shitty house.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 25, 2022 7:37 PM |
He asked Al Pacino if he got his pole smoked in CRUISING
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 25, 2022 7:37 PM |
Get me the pool cleaner, stat!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 25, 2022 7:39 PM |
He had a food company, the roasted red peppers were very good.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 25, 2022 7:40 PM |
He was AMAZING as Henry Kissinger in Nixon.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 25, 2022 7:44 PM |
I was young when I saw Nixon, I just remembered Hopkins under all that makeup and Bai Ling.l from The Crow.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 25, 2022 7:57 PM |
He and his wife were big time Trumpers. Unlike Mira.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 25, 2022 8:10 PM |
I know him from the gay-themed movie Mambo Italiano.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 25, 2022 8:16 PM |
Did Chris Noth grope him?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 25, 2022 8:21 PM |
I am sure DL fave Patti LuPone is busy today quoting DL fave Bette Davis:
“You should never say bad things about the dead, only good… Paul Sorvino is dead. Good.”
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 25, 2022 8:30 PM |
R35- The BEST line in the video
Have you ever had your COCK SUCKED by a man?
😏
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 25, 2022 8:31 PM |
DL killed Paul Sorvino.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 25, 2022 8:33 PM |
R35- The PHONIEST line in that scene is when Paul Sorvino says that Al Pacino is in his late 20's
more like THIRTY NINE.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 25, 2022 8:34 PM |
Aww RIP. I will never forget that scene in Money Talks and the look on he and Heather Locklear's face when Chris Tucker calls her PHAT.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 25, 2022 8:35 PM |
He was on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He played Worf's brother.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 25, 2022 8:58 PM |
R48, why no “Awww” from you like R26?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 25, 2022 9:01 PM |
R49- 😥
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 25, 2022 9:02 PM |
R30 are you thinking of Paul Winfield? He was a homosexualist, y’know.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 25, 2022 9:03 PM |
Predictions for the next two celebrity deaths-Marsha Hunt and Pete Davidson.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 25, 2022 9:04 PM |
Aww, Thank you, R49.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 25, 2022 9:08 PM |
Liotta, Caan and, now, Sorvino. Not a good year for those of us who love the mob movie genre.
Rest in peace, Paul Sorvino.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 25, 2022 9:15 PM |
Got a Tony nom for "That Championship Season"; lost to Alan Bates in "Butley."
Did anyone see him as Second Patrolman in "Bajour!"?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 25, 2022 9:17 PM |
Don't forget me, r54!
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 25, 2022 9:24 PM |
R54 Don't forget Titpig.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | July 25, 2022 9:26 PM |
I saw him on Broadway in THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON and he was riveting. I was young but still remember it vividly as it was one of those matinees done as a benefit for The Actors Fund and all the actors were on fire, performing for their peers. An ensemble cast of great NY character actors including Charles Durning and Richard Dysart, but Sorvino still stood out. Incredible macho energy in that role, terrifyingly real.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 25, 2022 9:28 PM |
Wow, you weren't kidding, he really was in Bajour.
He said he left L&O because he didn't realize how much outside shooting there would be, esp. at night in the winter. He was worried about his singing voice.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 25, 2022 9:28 PM |
He was talented. Unfortunately, the first thing I remember seeing him in was this utterly tasteless made-for-TV movie, "It Couldn't Happen to a Nicer Guy." This was a "comedy" movie about rape made in 1974, back when straight white men ruled the world.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 25, 2022 9:29 PM |
He was great as Bruce Willis’ dad in an episode of Moonlighting.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 25, 2022 10:17 PM |
Looks like my financial woes are over! Watch out for those stairs, Dad!
by Anonymous | reply 62 | July 25, 2022 10:38 PM |
Loved him in Goodfellas, and I love that movie. RIP, Mr. Sorvino.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 25, 2022 10:45 PM |
Not sorry, if he really was a MAGAT.
Bye, bitch. Enjoy HELL.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | July 25, 2022 10:50 PM |
Sorvino was fairly well known as being a huge diva.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | July 25, 2022 11:02 PM |
Me too R1. RIP Paul Sorvino..
by Anonymous | reply 66 | July 25, 2022 11:07 PM |
[quote] Me too R1. RIP Paul Sorvino..
Same here.
Then I realized I was confusing him with the guy from the Sopranos, James Gandolfini who died in 2013.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | July 25, 2022 11:11 PM |
Good observation R54. Yes, a big HIT (see what I'm doing here?) on the mobsters this year.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | July 25, 2022 11:15 PM |
Another who thought he died years ago. When I was a kid I did the stagedoor thing. He was very nice signing my souvenir program after TCS.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | July 25, 2022 11:35 PM |
I liked him as the father in the early 2000s series That's Life, costarring Heather Paige Kent and Ellen Burstyn.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | July 25, 2022 11:44 PM |
R17 he had a great singing voice.
The black dude from Lost and some androgynous boy.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | July 26, 2022 12:11 AM |
Did Mira give him the Ivana treatment? Dead at the bottom of the staircase?
by Anonymous | reply 72 | July 26, 2022 12:12 AM |
I thought he died years ago, too. He certainly hasn’t been active.
Danny Aiello died a few years ago, so maybe I had them mixed up. I miss those Italian 1970s-1980s guys. I didn’t realized Aiello was 86 when he died.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | July 26, 2022 12:24 AM |
I thought he died a long time ago but I had him confused with the guy on the Sopranos because ya know all Italian fat guys look alike.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | July 26, 2022 1:02 AM |
I'm sorry to hear this. I liked his work. I'm actually distantly related to him in some way, through my grandmother or something.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | July 26, 2022 1:18 AM |

I just re-watched "Cruising" and he was so good as the burnt-out detective with dead eyes and a limp.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | July 26, 2022 2:15 AM |
R28 Liar
by Anonymous | reply 78 | July 26, 2022 2:16 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 79 | July 26, 2022 2:17 AM |
Don't forget, gays, that Paul was in A Touch of Class, for which I won my SECOND Oscar!
by Anonymous | reply 80 | July 26, 2022 2:27 AM |
Another GOP voter gone. How sad!
by Anonymous | reply 81 | July 26, 2022 2:28 AM |
What a sad coincidence. We've been talking about his daughter in Mira Sorvino is broke thread.

Will there be an estate war??
by Anonymous | reply 91 | July 26, 2022 6:59 PM |
In 1972, my parents took me on a trip to New York City. They let me pick any Broadway show, and this is the one I chose. All three of us loved it. It was at the Booth, and afterward we went to Sardi's, where I swiped an ashtray.
