Weight Watchers

I’m starting WW formerly known as Weight Watchers tomorrow FOR REAL THIS TIME. I’m an eldergay with about 65 pounds to lose. Are any of you on “the program” and having success? What are your secrets? I’ve been paying for a membership for a few months now but not following the program. Tomorrow is the DAY!

by Anonymousreply 29November 3, 2023 10:22 AM

Do it!

by Anonymousreply 1July 25, 2022 6:17 AM

Follow the program and you will lose weight. There. Done.

by Anonymousreply 2July 25, 2022 1:27 PM

OP- Are you a FAT WHORE?

by Anonymousreply 3July 25, 2022 1:30 PM

Good luck, OP!

by Anonymousreply 4July 25, 2022 1:31 PM

I actually just started WW last Sunday. So far I’ve found a few tasty recipes that are low points and low calories. Eggs, fish, whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, broccoli, vegetables, chicken are all zero point foods.

by Anonymousreply 5July 25, 2022 1:33 PM

R3 I am fat and a FORMER whore...cheers, thanks!-OP

by Anonymousreply 6July 25, 2022 1:36 PM

R5- So would you say that the most of the food taste good so far? Is it filling?

by Anonymousreply 7July 25, 2022 1:39 PM

Yes, so far I’ve made the spicy chicken soft tacos with goat cheese as well as the rotini with creamy broccoli sauce (only 3 pts). Both filling and tasty.

i did it 15 years ago, lost 30 pounds and kept it off. If you don't already have one, buy a food scale and measuring cups. I know the new system says you don't have to weigh and measure but I learned what a normal serving size was on WW. I bought two serving spoons from them, one is a half cup and the other is a cup, and I still use them all the time. I have no problem giving up junk and eating healthy but I can eat a LOT. Three ounces of fish or chicken (a serving) won't fill me up so I need to stuff myself with vegetables and salad.

I didn't do it online but went to meetings, I needed that weekly weigh in in person. I was also diligent about recording everything I ate.

If you follow it, you will lose weight. If you permanently adopt healthier eating and don't revert back to your old ways once you lose the weight, you will keep it off.

Good luck, elderfatty. You can do it!

by Anonymousreply 10July 25, 2022 1:46 PM

Thanks R9!-OP

If you are someone who allowed themselves to get to be 65 pounds overweight, have you first overcome the mental disorders that allowed it to happen?

by Anonymousreply 12July 25, 2022 1:55 PM

[quote] Three ounces of fish or chicken (a serving) won't fill me up so I need to stuff myself with vegetables and salad.

That’s a problem with fatties, always needing to feel full. It’s okay to feel hungry.

Probably depression and anxiety from living through a two year pandemic, raising two kids and taking care of two ailing parents you FUCK FACE R12. Jesus.

R14 sounds like you're doing a lot and understandably stressed out. The secret to losing weight is to eat less calories. Chances are you have poor diet habits and patterns and this is the true cause of being overweight. Trying to replace this with some packaged "meal plan" like South Beach, Atkins, Etc can work if it is ultimately getting you to take less calories than you burn, but they are still unsustainable because you've only replaced bad habits with rigid habits. In general, the rules for choosing food are: less calories overall is good, specific foods should be limited in carbs, eat a diverse diet with many cruciferous vegetables. Here's the hardest thing but learning this is important: you should not be allowing yourself huge variety in good choice every day. You should try to have roughly one or two staple meals and eat them over 50% of the time. We didn't evolve to be food court mammals. These are all really essential lessons to teach the kids too, btw. Try really hard to not let them get fat!!! It sucks to dig yourself out of that hole.

Also bread is made of: water flour yeast and salt, mostly flour. Flour is straight carbs and carbs are sugars. Bread, ALL bread is dessert food.

WW is terrific and works as long a you follow the program. You may have to fiddle a bit with which did will be zero points for you until you find the best fit. When you do, stick with it and pre-plan your meals as much as possible so you already know what you will eat each day and that you're within your point limits.

I started WW 13 months ago, lost 35 pounds and have kept them off, and it was remarkably easy. But you do have to commit to it and follow through.

Good luck!

by Anonymousreply 16July 26, 2022 1:05 AM

Whole wheat pasta is zero points???

by Anonymousreply 17July 26, 2022 1:11 AM

Do you exercise, OP? Even if it is just walking it will help you tremendously. Depressed people have no energy, we have severe fatigue. Idk if that is a problem for you, it is for me.

by Anonymousreply 18July 26, 2022 1:16 AM

Thank you guys, I do appreciate it!-OP

by Anonymousreply 19July 26, 2022 1:48 AM

R19- Please keep us updated! We are cheering you on!

by Anonymousreply 20July 26, 2022 1:51 AM

You made a good choice. WW is one of the few really reputable weight loss programs out there.

by Anonymousreply 21July 26, 2022 1:56 AM

R21- Weight Watchers is the GREAT GREAT GREAT Grandmother of Diet Plans. It started in 1963. My parents went on WW in the 1970's and were never really as heavy again as they were before the program.

by Anonymousreply 22July 26, 2022 2:24 AM

Hey there! Doing well on the program. I've lost almost 10 pounds. I eat almost the same thing every day except for dinner. I have two little kids and need to mix it up for them. I'll keep you posted!-OP

by Anonymousreply 23August 10, 2022 8:43 PM

If possible, eat your bigger meals earlier in the day, and try not to eat too late -- if you are hungry later, some fruit or something tasty but pretty light in calories, if possible. I've found that one or two Trader Joe's lo-carb tortillas helps to kind of satisfy my "bread tooth", when served with some peanut butter, some lite sour cream or with some turkey chilli. Good luck.

by Anonymousreply 24August 10, 2022 10:28 PM

lite cream cheese rather than lite sour cream, but you get the idea..

by Anonymousreply 25August 10, 2022 10:29 PM

Now WW is selling a weight loss drug. WTF? They have really fucked up this company. Thanks Oprah.

by Anonymousreply 26November 3, 2023 5:21 AM

Weight watchers is for fraud who gain it back.

by Anonymousreply 27November 3, 2023 6:01 AM

Hey, OP. How's it going? If you stuck with the program you should be nearing your goal weight.

by Anonymousreply 28November 3, 2023 8:13 AM

How's it going OP? I went on WW years ago and followed the rules to the letter. Lost my 30 kgs and never looked back. Stopped drinking, that helps a lot as well. Don't own a car so walking has been the best for me. Hope it's turned out well for you too.
