My stars! It's hideouts and only 12 years old! A bit on the pricey side, too. Maybe I'll make an offer. Think they'd take $129,900?
Hideous, not hideouts! LOL It's a hide out too. Hide out for ghouls.

The setting is stunning. So much potential ruined.

It's owned by Christopher Mark, the great-grandson of Chicago steel tycoon Clayton Mark Sr.
...
The house has also seen a fair amount of drama. Mark reportedly lived there with his now ex-wife and their two children, until Mary Galt filed for divorce in 2010. Mark later moved his pregnant girlfriend into the castle with her older daughter, according to Connecticut Magazine.
That relationship also ended and that girlfriend took Mark to court in New York City to pay additional child support, according to the New York Post. Mark was rumored to have tried to start multiple businesses on the property, including a modeling business, a bed-and-breakfast, and a private zoo.

Mustard yellow is a really weird signature color. Even in its heyday of 1990

It looks like something a redneck lottery winner would buy!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 24, 2022 5:51 PM |
I thought so too, R5, which is why I looked into its history. As you can see at R3, it was a winner of a different type of lottery.

Sold for $167k in 2003. Something is off about this... $45m, $39m, $32m, $60m... no on is going to pay over 5-6 million for this. The kitchen alone makes me want to slit my wrists.

There are plenty of real much more charming castles for sale. I suspect the upkeep is high.

Yeah, that kitchen is weird and highly inefficient but the woodwork is really detailed.
Those inlay wood floors are stunning. Not what I would want but they took a lot of work and time.
Houses like this are hard to sell (especially for that price) because they’re custom made and the majority of people with that sort of “taste” can’t afford something like this.
While I think it’s neat, it’s also a shame that it will probably end up derelict before it’s sold.

Modeled on a structure in Anaheim, CA.

12 years old but built to look like it's 200 years old? And furnished as if it's 100 years old?
Tacky, tacky, tacky. Looks like it's a few fake cobwebs away from being a Disney park attraction. $60M? Pass.

Kitchen is horrible, but that bathroom makes me want to puke.

I know what you said about the ex-wife and girlfriend, but he still looks like a cookie-smeller to me.
And painted rocks? A miniatures business? Please!

Houses like this are hard to sell because they are incredibly ugly.

And yet the ceilings in the main spaces look 8’ tall.

The exterior is insane in a great way but inside it's pure if you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gives it to.

R13. Just another incel who got sex for flashing his money around

It takes a lot of money to look this cheap.
