‘Centurians of Rome’: How a Bank Robber Made the Most Expensive Gay Porno of All Time!

[quote] When George Bosque stole $1.85 million and went on the lam, he invented a new identity—as a movie producer with bags of cash and a dream to film a Roman-themed porn orgy.

A fascinating read, originally published on the Rialtor Report, it has since been picked up for a movie adaption. Should we start a casting call on DL?

George Payne, one of the two leads, was gay for pay and also did straight porn.

Fascinating article! I think he looks like John Krasinski so, that’s my vote for the film version.

Luke Evans has to be in it, his look and physique fit nicely for that era! Even better, Luke will gift us his first frontal nude scene!

I remember buying this on VHS -and having it sent to a P.O. box...

Ah, those were the days!

It would've made an interesting movie, but it's been several years now since they optioned the story and no further news, it's probably been scrapped.

It was sad that nearly the whole cast had died prematurely. George Payne is one of the few still surviving apparently, and he's living with little money in a senior housing place the last I heard.

It's almost an interesting story, but an interesting 'Unsolved Mysteries" kind of story. Fictionalized, as the basis for a film it could be excellent - as Boogie Nights was a take on John Holmes and the Wonderland murders.

Hottie gay for pay David Morris took a dick in this movie, too. It's a shame it wasn't better lit as there were hot men but as with many porns of those times it's hard to make out details.

What a story. Not surprising that many of the porn actors died of AIDS. Too bad about Bosque dying of a drug overdose at age 36.

The attractiveness of Scorpio is lost on me. Totally bizarre that his mother would come to watch his strip shows.

Perhaps he was one of the original Data lounge Mother's boys?

R8 I found Scorpio very attractive, he was a stripper but he looked like one of those working (gay)men from 70s gay porn, tall, lean, older and haggard... there is something weirdly sexy about that look from that era.

They saved some money using Freddie Mercury's "Ming's Theme" on the soundtrack.

How could George Payne be gay-for-pay if he tops in one of the scenes of "Centurians". This is the days before Viagra and most of the porn actors were probably high on cocaine.

Sorry I don't see it, R10. He has a nice body but a meh face.

by Anonymousreply 13July 24, 2022 6:26 AM

Fascinating story.

I wonder why it hasn't been turned into a movie. I'd go and see it!

I love Lloyds of London having to walk away from the proceeds because it couldn't be associated with gay porn. Today they would finance the film themselves.
