Forgive me if this has been discussed recently. I did a search of this site and didn't find anything recent. I just love this movie, and I am a gay man. I saw it in the theater when it was first released. Even though I am not attracted to women at all, there is something very erotic about the sex scenes in this film that almost got me turned on. The sex is very blunt and clear-eyed. None of the hazy, panning wide shots of "Making Love" or the darkened tent scenes of "Brokeback Mountain." This one actually depicts one of the women shoving her hand up the other's hoo-ha! I mean, that is to the point! Why do movies about gay men (excuse the expression) pussyfoot around the sex when films like this just put it out there? Aside from the sex, "Bound" is also a very entertaining thriller with very darkly comic dialogue and great performances by Gershon, Tilly and Joe Pantoliano. Why can't they make movies like this about gay men? I also love the line from Violet (Tilly): "We make our own choices, we pay our own prices."
The movie "Bound," with Gena Gershon and Jennifer Tilly

Sorry... GINA Gershon!

I like it too, it's a fun satire. However, the Datalounge is not a good place to bring this movie up - too much lesbianism. And the they're not REALLY LESBIANS pathetic slant.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 22, 2022 11:21 PM |
I'm a lesbian, and I never really liked it.
However, there's something to be said for a movie about lesbians that's not about the fact that they're lesbians. Those roles could have been played by anyone -- so that made it refreshing.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 22, 2022 11:24 PM |
Male view of lesbians.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 22, 2022 11:38 PM |
Interesting observation, R4, but the Wachowskis, who were then men are now women. They always felt they were women. So your statement does not exactly ring true.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 22, 2022 11:41 PM |
R5 No, they are men. deeply disturbed men.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 22, 2022 11:53 PM |
Love this movie. Love when Tilly says “Caesar, you don’t know ahit’ amd blows him away.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 22, 2022 11:58 PM |
Hated this film. Couldn't stand listening to Tilly's stupid voice.
And they are men, r4
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 23, 2022 12:03 AM |
I agree, R7. That is a great moment!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 23, 2022 12:04 AM |
I am not usually a fan of Jennifer Tilly's voice. But it works perfectly in this movie. Just my opinion, though, R8. And the last time I checked, the Wachowskis were living as women. You can accept that or not, but that is the case.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 23, 2022 12:09 AM |
How are they "living as women?" Do they get a menstrual cycle? Do they have a uterus? Do they have vaginas?
If you are saying that simply because someone presents as a woman, that makes them one, then you know nothing about women.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 23, 2022 4:47 AM |
Love the film. Gina and Jennifer are both at their best in it.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 23, 2022 7:43 AM |
Agreed, R13. Like I said earlier, I am not always a fan of Tilly's breathy vocal delivery. But it works perfectly in this movie. I just love pretty much everything about this movie. The plot is a bit ridiculous, but it is a very entertaining film.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 23, 2022 7:57 AM |
I just re-watched this movie earlier this year after not having seen it since its release. It holds up pretty well in my estimation, just the right amount of style and grit. The bonus for gays is Christopher Meloni in an early role presaging his sexiness on Oz. I do remember watching it originally and thinking Meloni was a rougher version of Elias Koteas.

" Do they get a menstrual cycle? Do they have a uterus? Do they have vaginas?"
So postmenopausal women aren't women?
Women who've have hysterectomies aren't women?
If a woman has surgically enhanced anything she's not a woman?
Just pointing out your idiotic thinking.
I would say your were letting your dick do your thinking.
I'm guessing your thoughts are more likely pulled out of your ass.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 23, 2022 8:26 AM |
It's misogynistic garbage. The male idea of what lesbians should be. I have never, and no other lesbian I know has ever, seen an accurate representation of ourselves onscreen. Just destructive rubbish, like all sex, for men to wank off to.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 23, 2022 9:19 AM |
R17 Desert Hearts? Liana? Go Fish? Happiest Season?

" I have never, and no other lesbian I know has ever, seen an accurate representation of ourselves onscreen."
You're so full of shit.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 23, 2022 10:13 AM |
I went to see it and can't recall the plot. I was so surprised the film makers went on to direct the matrix, very different films.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 23, 2022 10:41 AM |
I love all those 1999s independent thrillers like BOUND, THE LAST SEDUCTION, ONE FALSE MOVE, MUTE WITNESS, etc. They are such underrated gems.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 23, 2022 12:11 PM |
R16 please stop making a fool of yourself.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 23, 2022 12:47 PM |
Watermelon Woman and Pariah seemed like accurate portrayals of lesbians at least black ones. Directed by lesbians.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 23, 2022 2:28 PM |
r16, Post Menopausal women had a menstrual cycle for at least 40 years prior to menopause. Do these men go through menopause and all that it entails?
Same with women who have had hysterectomies. They used to have a uterus and thus, are women.
Women who have surgical enhancements are women.
You sound dumb.

It's gross that the "gay" OP is masturbating to fake lesbian sex scenes.
Gay conversion works, y'all! All they have to do is watch this movie and it will straighten them out, like the OP!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 23, 2022 9:38 PM |
This thread is so weird and uptight. I would think Gershon and Tilly themselves would warrant more conversations here.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 23, 2022 9:57 PM |
Why all the hate for this movie? It is just a silly lesbians take on the Mob movie. It is light entertainment. And it IS very entertaining, even if the angry lesbian who keeps posting says that it is not.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 23, 2022 11:27 PM |
"Gay conversion works, y'all! All they have to do is watch this movie and it will straighten them out, like the OP!"
This is the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard. I never said that the movie turned me straight. I said it was erotic. Much more so than any gay male mainstream movie I have see. Do you know how to read, R25?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 23, 2022 11:30 PM |
Sorry, mean to say "seen."
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 23, 2022 11:36 PM |
How many times have you cum while masturbating to the lesbian sex scenes, self-hating OP?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 23, 2022 11:39 PM |
R30 How is that self-hating? If he does get aroused and cums wouldn't that make him bisexual? Anyway, it's clearly a figure of speech and you're looking for a fight.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 23, 2022 11:42 PM |
Fuck you. I never said I came watching the movie, you dumbass. I just said the scenes were erotic. Which they were. What the fuck is wrong with you, asshole?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 23, 2022 11:49 PM |
SORRY! R 32 was directed at R30! This is the OP.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 23, 2022 11:50 PM |
Sick and deranged OP trying to do a stealth gay conversion thread.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 24, 2022 12:58 AM |
R34 You need help. Gays can appreciate attractive women and you don't need to be physically attracted to be aroused by a sexy scene. Lighting, music and chemistry can set the mood and you project yourself into it. It's called imagination, you R-tard. Straight women can get aroused by scenes of two women and straight men can even get arouse by scenes of two men. But never want to actually do it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 24, 2022 1:01 AM |
I loved it. Gina Gershon is so captivating on screen. Even in Showgirls, she just oozes charisma. I remember seeing her in Cocktail and even then I could tell she would be successful. She just has that It Factor.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 24, 2022 1:05 AM |
Gina was good in Killer Joe as the evil white trash bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 24, 2022 1:07 AM |
Fuck off, “queer” freak.
OP claims to be gay, not bisexual, but is raving about how hard this awful movie gets his cock.
YOU are the one who also wants to erase gay men with your hateful queer language, r36.
Gay erasure is the point of this sick thread.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 24, 2022 1:08 AM |
R38 Take your meds. You're trying to start a fight over a non-issue. The conversation is about this movie. You sound ridiculous.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 24, 2022 1:09 AM |
Go spread your gay conversion tactics elsewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 24, 2022 1:12 AM |
R40 Enjoying a movie about lesbians and appreciating female beauty is "gay conversation?" Really? You don't realize how ridiculous you are.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 24, 2022 1:13 AM |
A classic datalounge thread, 🦇 shit.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 24, 2022 1:15 AM |
According to OP and r41, gay men should watch lezzie sex scenes so that they can get hard and experience heterosexual orgasms.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 24, 2022 1:18 AM |
R43 Well, if you think that gay men can get hard and experience heterosexual orgasms then your ability to stop logic is strong and you're the only way saying this and calling this "conversion therapy." I like that you WW your own posts too.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 24, 2022 1:22 AM |
You’re the gay-erasing queer-defender.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 24, 2022 1:25 AM |
Weak with laughter. Y'all crazy.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 24, 2022 1:32 AM |
This is the movie that taught me plausibility isn’t necessary if everything else in a movie is working.
Tilly tells Gershon that the tattoo on her boob, that is about the size of a thumbnail, took all day to do. I don’t know how many times I watched it before I caught that. And I never really cared. I like the movie.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 24, 2022 1:34 AM |
If you want to see a film that depicts real lesbians OP, you need to watch Friend Green Tomatoes. Not a single sex scene and yet, they managed to convey deep love and loyalty more than any other lesbian film I've watched.
Bound is just a man's version of lesbian porn. Same with Blue is the Warmest Color.
