I'm sorry but this is such a white upperclass thing. Treating your older children and adolescents like overgrown babies. There needs to be boundaries and children need to be taught independence. Alicia is so self-absorbed, her son is going to be bullied and embarrassed when he gets older.

First of all, why would you do this? He’ll be a teenager in a couple years, surely this is some stunted development. Children need to individuate. Secondly, why would you tell the world this? Assuming he’s even allowed to go to school, the other kids will make his life a living hell. My god, parents can be embarrassing enough at the best of times at that age, but sharing that shit and weird toilet training stories (including the “I thought he was flirting with me” comment) qualifies her as one of the most cringe-worthy embarrassing mothers imaginable.

11 is way too old to be sharing a bed with his mother. Usually that really should stop around 5 or 6. Kids need to learn to sleep by themselves. This is an unhealthy codependency and Alicia seems to want to control this kid. But he's going through puberty now. Very soon, he's going to start to feel disgusted by his mom's innessant need for intimacy as normal teens do. Pushing her away with his hand and yelling at her to stop it. How will Alicia take that?
