Thomas Dekker and Avan Jogia basically played alterations of James Duval's Dark from Nowhere in Kaboom and Now Apocalypse. But they don't capture it the innocence quite same as JD did. They all very hot guys though.

Araki's movies were so formative to me. That sense of doom that we teens were stepping into as we came of age, where sex seemed like a death sentence - nothing else nailed it quite the same.

HUGE Araki fan. I think he saw Duval as his muse and as the character most like himself in the Teen Apocalypse trilogy. Jonathan Shech stole the thunder in Doom and there were just too many gorgeous guys in Nowhere to pay attention to him including Ryan Phillipe. He's not my type, but I like Duval. As a young gay growing up in LA in the late 90's, Araki's videos were the only thing I could relate to. That was the period when every gay film ended with someone dying of AIDS (though this was ancillary theme in some of his films, the characters weren't cliche). I loved that his gays weren't total queens and had an integrated friend group.

What was this all about? That relationship. I had the feeling Araki and Robertson had more of a BFF type of thing, although Araki plays with a lot bi themes so maybe. Rose was way hotter. I really liked Splendor, which I totally forgot about. That's one of his few movies from back in the day that I haven't rewatched multiple times. Maybe I'll watch it this weekend.

I don't think so R21. I was obsessed with Doom and was shocked to here about Nowhere from my ex who had the video.. I did see Doom Generation in the theatre though. I think it was the only only with a big theatrical release.

Saw Doom, which I had previously seen on cable many years ago, last month in NY.

Never saw it in a theater and am glad I did.

I've forgotten what a violent, funny, sexy movie it was - even better on the big screen.

Strand Releasing announced a 4K director's cut of Nowhere. It, and remasters of the rest of Teen Apocalypse trilogy will screen this fall. And I assume will also have releases for streaming and Blu-Ray.

One of the last things I remember seeing him in was the horror movie May. Not sure what the hell was going on with his hair; character choice, I suppose

Still no physical release, but Nowhere is now available for rent or purchase digitally.
