Why can’t anyone on Datalounge see the nuance in the gay/trans/LGBTQ issue? Half the people on here hate trans people and want to throw them under the bus, and the other half are extreme liberals who think the trans agenda is good for the gay community.

Why can’t we have some nuance on this issue? Wouldn’t it be healthier for gays to just say “I don’t hate transgender people, and I wish them well and want their rights to be protected, but their agenda is wildly different than ours and it no longer makes sense to be under the same umbrella?” That’s more sensible than only taking one of two extreme positions.

When exactly did the gay community go off the rails? When did “gay and lesbian” become “LGBTQIA+?” When did the gay men and drag queens at Stonewall become “trans women of color?” When did “I’m a man who likes men” become “my pronouns are he/they?”

You have to read far in the article to get to the meaningful data because the summary is meant to make you think something else. Subclinical elevated enzymes still show liver damage, as studies of alcoholism will tell you. And some similar websites only post the conclusion without even showing the underlying data at all, which is worse.

And I do believe testosterone in FTM is more harmful than estrogen in MTF. Estrogen has some protective factors against mental illness and psychosis. So for some people it could play a part in relieving real symptoms. At least, withdrawing it suddenly is dangerous if someone has been on it.
