I wonder what she’s high one.

I just don't have the strength to give a fuck about Wendy Williams, but what little care I have left is on her side. I like her. Crazy as she is, I really like her.

She seems really out of it in this interview

She seems to want to show off that ring. Product placement, perhaps?

She's obviously ill, and I don't think it's just drug use, I think it's drugs plus illness. I wish someone who actually cared about her would help her.

She puts a weird emphasis on the word podcast, like it's a foreign term that she was told 5 minutes before this interview and she's struggling to say correctly. She appears to be attempting to repeat what someone told her (a podcast will make her MONEY! ) but she's struggling to get her own words out too. This makes me feel like her new management is using her, disregarding her obvious problems and letting her push this podcast as the way to line their pockets. It seems shady that her people haven't even taken the time to explain to Wendy what a podcast is.

The worst case scenario is if the people that she thinks are looking out for her are using her declining state or even medicating her to use for their own ends.

What reputable manager/management team would let their client do an interview in that state, allegedly trying to get them their next job? None, so Wendy obviously has gotten some snakes in her employ. Also, what sponsor is going to see Wendy babbling about moving to France or Oz(?) and think she'll be lucid enough to sell their product? Maybe they're going after the lower level markets, like some wig store or hot sauce company, as Wendy loves it so much.

Her brother was a producer of the tawk show. The ex husband was too. Sometimes it is the family who is part of the problem. It is curious that Wendy is always high now.

I only saw a clip of it on some show when I was flipping and wondered why she kept her finger on that one spot. And then promptly forgot all about this until I saw your post.

A podcast is a pared down version of a radio talk show, a format she excelled in for decades.

Her prominence as a radio talk show hostess gave her the entrée to the TV talk show.

But her personal problems are taking up all the space.

WW was successfully sued by a long time staff member for harassment during the last years she worked at WBLS. It was not Wendy who was at fault, it was the ex who worked for Wendy as her manager who was responsible.

She's had long term problems with the family being involved in her professional life.

Her long standing gag was outing closeted gay people in the industry.

She developed the phrase "how yew doin" as a code for faggot or dyke.

She got into trouble with Sean Combs who used his influence to get her removed from the NYC market.

Daytime panel shows and reality shows are cheap to produce and they have proliferated. Soaps are long gone so there are huge gaps of time to fill with cheap programs. Most celebrities, even minor ones, get calls to test for talk shows and reality TV. A lot of them are not regimented enough for it, daytime means EARLY mornings all week and reality means long irregular shooting hours for scenes. Wendy herself said she was offered a ton of daytime shows in the 90s and 2000s before she settled for her deal.

former talkshow hosts in the podcast scene... there's many, they usually try to one on one interviews but ultimately feel eclipsed and drift into casual and lifestyle activities instead, lifestyles of the empty nesting stay-at-home dads/mums...

she would do better with a task like that... the repetitive movements of say like baking or quilting would help give her more structure plus space between speaking/thoughts if performing said tasks with guests... even coming off more normalish.. in this pseudo Martha Stewartish scene.

WW's issue is she's always been highstrung with forced speech, so it can ake even a mild episode appear even more severe. She's used to speaking that way, being that way and not likely the type to take rehab seriously. Like addiction, people have been impaired by accident or declining health generally have to hit bottom before they look for a way to survive with their new reality rather than trying to escape to a past they can never reach.

Page Six of the NY Post has a new story, rehashing the same old garbage from Kevin blah blah blah. He's still bashing Debmar-Mercury for not "signing off" on Wendy going to rehab. He explains in this paragraph from the article: "Hunter, 50, further claims that Williams’ family attended an intervention of sorts with Debmar-Mercury in which he and the group discussed how to further aid Williams in her battle with alcoholism. They sat in a meeting with her whole family, including her now-deceased mom, and would not sign off on the recovery efforts that would’ve helped Wendy also get well and live and be sober. They basically said, ‘If you don’t stop drinking, you’re going to lose the show.’”

To me, this phrase "sign off" sounds like he wanted them to pay for this rehab and is now spinning it like they turned their back on Wendy. In addition, he seems to be amazed that they said that if she didn't stop drinking, they'd take the show away. Duh! Kevin seems to think very immaturely, like the world owes Wendy a living, paying for rehab and keeping the door open for her indefinitely. This guy will nitpick every little thing that D-M did to his ex-wife, but he sure doesn't go into the dirt he did to her.

I don't think there's any winning the battle of lymphedema. The lymphatic system is not well understood and it's not really accessible.
