ABC-7 aired the parade from Noon-3:00. Hosts were our brothers and sister- Sam Champion, Ken Rosato, and Lauren Glassberg . There was a Trans woman who did some interviews. Didn't show enough of the groups who were marching. Cast of "Trevor, The Musical" did a number from the show.

I watched part of the NYC Pride Parade in person and the rest on livestream. I did not see what OP saw despite the woke taking over governance of the parade. It remained a diverse group of local organizations. What I saw was an increasing number of younger, female and POC participants. This reflects the demographic of NYC and the lgbtq community and is a good thing.

I had the same comment. I’ve never seen so many teenagers with eye makeup, colored hair and a trans flag cape. I was wondering if they didn’t feel as special in a sea of kids that are doing the same thing, or if it made them feel embraced. Either way the overall effect felt disturbing. Teen age girls with open shirts and bandaged amputated breasts were all over the place. All the gay men skipped it and went to the tea dance the next day, at least in my Midwest town. I didn’t get the early memo.

I sat through a Pride flag ceremony this year that was excruciatingly humiliating. The flags got vaguer and vaguer with more and more intricate definitions of the sexualities and genders as they went on, including bullshit poetic meanings for each fucking color of stripe.

I heard a women near me stage whispering "this is more flags than the U.N."

I didn't go to Pride parade, but whatched the Dyke March enter Washington Square Park, and it was beautiful, and angry, and bold, and emotional. I met a few babydykes/nonbinary folks on the subway who flew in last minute to attend. This meant something to them as I imagine how early liberation marches meant to them. I would rather be part of that crowd than one where a Chipotle burrito-shaped float t-shirt bazookas pride-themed Chipotle merch at us.
